Editorial Reviews

From the Artist
Jeff 'El Jefe' MIller: "We wanted to create a band that would put an end to all the posing and complainng and whining. We wanted to remind people that rock and roll is about having fun, feeling good, and getting what you want out of life - it's about playing hard and standing up for what you believe in. This isn't a competition to us - we know what we are. We aren't trying to fit in, and we're not looking to change the world. We're here to make rock happen, pure and simple."

Product Description
Unwelcome Wagon's self-titled first release is a no-holds-barred tribute to the glory days of Heavy Metal. Anthemic songs and gutbucket guitar riffs are the core of Unwelcome Wagon's sound. The opening track's intro of wailing feedback, sampled sledgehammers, and all-hands-on-deck chorus of "children in the city got to rock and roll!" tells you right away where the band is coming from.

Lead guitarist / vocalist Jeff 'El Jefe' Miller sounds like Paul Stanley, Ozzy Osbourne, and Eddie Van Halen all rolled into one. He wears his influences proudly on songs like “Burnin’”, in which he growls “I’m a rollin’ train, drive you insane, c’mon inside –tear up the tracks ‘till the engine cracks and ride, ride, ride”. He follows this declaration with a blistering guitar solo, as if in defiance of the current trend of minimalist guitar playing.

The snarling dog rhythm guitar sound of Jeff Aach is unmistakable – he has created his own instrument, subtly titled “The Aachroach”, and it is ALL about raw power.

Bassist Chris Farrell provides a meaty foundation - he grinds away with Aach creating a mountainous low-end sculpture.

Drummer G Chase's determined-sounding beats are at the heart of this recording, and it’s obvious that the engineering team of Chase and Miller wanted the drums to be heard loud and clear. Chase’s unforgiving grooves really drive this collection of songs home - if you love heavy rock, you'll love this album.

5 out of 5 stars Rocks ..........2002-07-12

They may be ugly as a baboon's tuchis, but these boys rock some serious... Don't let the inexplicably serious tone of the Web site and liner notes fool you; this is dirty, smelly, evil rock and roll. The kind that's sorely missing from the emo-drenched airwaves these days. This is the stuff you hear in a club where the toilet's are clogged with cigarette butts and you drink PBR out of a plastic cup. Not that these kids can't play--they can play circles around anyone out today--it's just that they use their prodigious talents to rock hard. Imagine if Dream Theater got the sticks out their butts, smoked a big fattie and decided that life is too short to waste musicianship on [sissy]-rock. Oh yeah, Unwelcome Wagon is the best live band since Fishbone.

5 out of 5 stars Rock is back, with a bang!.......2002-03-22

These guys simply rock. If you're a fan of the likes of ac/dc or Ozzy then this is a must have. The first track 'Children in the city' will blow you away with its combination of catchy vocals, great guitar riffs and of course spine busting drumming. These guys are THE best live band to come out of Boston and the cd is simply incredible, loud, in your face rock. Now stop reading and buy the damn thing, sit back and rock on!

5 out of 5 stars Children in the city: You've GOT to rock n roll.......2002-01-08

Rock. The Rock. Feel The Rock. Purchase the cd and Feel the Rock. Go see the band, purchase the CD and Feel the Rock. Unwelcome Wagon will surely crush yo booty if you go see the band, purchase the CD and Feel the Rock. Five stars for this crazy rockin' teenage combo. Unwelcome Wagon will surely satisfy anyone looking for: Great Vocals, Huge Riffs and Thundering Drums. 'Nuff said.

5 out of 5 stars Rock Lives!.......2001-12-30

This is the most ...kicking, head-banging, original rock bend to come out of Boston! The song concepts and lyrics may be somewhat fantastic and witty (i.e. lobotomobile), but the music is nothing but serious rock, filled with amazing guitar solos and athletically executed drum fills. I particularily like the way each song sets a driving rhythmic atmosphere and then gradually builds to an excrutianigly pleasant climax.
You can't help but BANG YOUR HEAD!!!
