About the Artist
Til Willis is an energetic young songwriter, who addresses the basic issues of life, such as love, death, and human nature with a blend of naivety and jadedness. With his snapped-string assault and balls -to-the-wall vocals his music is very much his own. "Shadow of the Future" is Til's second album (the first being The Thought I Had). On it Til moves through several styles, with lyrics that can touch the heart or grate on the brian. This album speakes directly from life. In Til's own words, "It's a harder struggle taking an American name". But, that's exactly what he's trying to do.

    Product Description

Amid driving industrial rhythm, Jess McIntyre intones his dark opera, a tale of souls struggling against an increasingly mechanized future. The songs vary from the driving keyboard friendly "Self-Control" and "Third World" to the guitar-laden "Social Conditioning". Each are connected by McIntyre's commanding vocals - produced a bit differently on each track, adding to the uniqueness of the project.

i didn't care for this cd. it is a Christian goth group that has disappeared and I can see why. not anything special. if you are a collector of christian goth, a friend of the bands, or a fan then get it otherwise don't waste your time.

I sing along to this album everyday while rocking out in my car!
I have seen Til live many times and am always satisfied at the end of the show. He is a kick-ass lyricist, and multi-talented musician. I love this album, even when it starts to leans towards the strange... I also have his third album, LOVESICK (which I got at his website, www.tilwillis.com).

    4 out of 5 stars Improvement.......2002-10-02

Shadow of the Future is a vast improvement over Til's first album. The songs are stronger, and the feel is kind of murky and cool. I bought the album at a live show of Til's thinking the songs were great. However, I must admit that it took me a few times listening to it before I got into it, but now I think it's great, a much needed break from all the overproduced albums that come these days.
The music on Shadow is raw and feels peiced together with an energy and youth. And, even though the meter wavers here and there on a number or two it all adds to this rough real quality, almost like a blues record.
