Weak effort.......2006-03-03

Don't get me wrong, individually, I love the vast majority of the work both of these artists produce. It just feels to me that these traks were leftovers... or that it was just thrown together just to make some cash. There is really no emotion; nothing to identify with. All of their other releases are much better, in my opinion. It was a cute idea, but poorly executed.

The latest and one of the greatest in dark ambient........2004-05-01

Freescha is new to me, but I've recently become a big fan of Casino vs. Japan, who seems to become a stronger artist with each release-- no mean feat for an ambient artist. The seven tracks here are what you might call 'hard ambient.' Beats abound, but the songs maintain a moody soundscape that is a must for fans of ambient along the lines of FSOL, Woob, or Boards of Canada. Personally, I think the comparisons to BOC are a little overstated. Casino doesn't have the same retro-psychedelic feel-- it's 100% 21st century. Dark, urban, yet nostalgic for a simpler, more idyllic time. Highly recommended, and a reasonably priced introduction to a couple of genuine up-and-comers.

This record is a split featuring casino vs japan and Freescha.
Both are electronic acts, with a boards of canada feel, but oh with so much more. Freescha's 2002 album "what's come inside" has to be one of my all time favourite releases. Seriously. If you are a fan of boards of canada or morr music (or soft IDM) you will love freescha. Same goes for Casino vs japan.

It's really great! It's got 2 new songs by Officer Negative, "Failure to Submit" and "Pockets of Resistence". I guess "Rock Your Pants Off" by Lugnut is my favorite song. If you like real Christian punk then get this. I know I know...I'm a dork...

This has my favorite version of Piggybank, hands down. Its a bit slower but builds to a good climax. You can't go wrong with the Thrill Kill Kult remix either. Very good stuff. And for only $5 dollars? Come on.

4 powerful songs, deep and grooving........1998-08-29

One of their slightly earlier releases, this single has 4 very strong songs. Full of enthusiasm and the much loved KMFDM industrial rhythms. Lots of sampled and synthed beats and sounds, but not in the cliched style, very unique. These long, powerful songs, make this one of my favorite KMFDM singles. Its a lot more music than you usually get out of a single, definatly worth it!
