The Alkaline Trio has managed to put together a masterpiece on this, their third full length studio album. It is everything a punk record should be - dark, moving, cynical, hopeful, wide eyed and world weary all at the same time. Recommended for fans of Green Day, Jawbreaker and The Get Up Kids. Standard jewel case. 2001 release.

5 out of 5 stars Their Best.......2007-04-07

Remains had some great stuff on it and they've had some other good past releases but I'm only missing one of their albums and I must say this is the best I've heard. I love this album. It's actually one of my favorite releases from ANY band.

5 out of 5 stars Alk3's Best.......2006-08-28

This was the first Alkaline Trio cd I listened to, and in my opinion, it's the best. It really got me into the band, and helped me to get more into punk as a whole.

A lot of people would classify Alkaline Trio as pop-punk, but I'm not one of them. At least with this album, I wouldn't (their latest album, "Crimson" is quite a bit more poppy). On "From Here to Infirmary", the tracks are very catchy, and will most likely be stuck in your head for a while the first time you hear them. Matt Skiba's voice is very distinctive, and helps set Alk3 apart from other punk/emo fusion bands. Dave Andriano also sings on a few tracks. As far as lyrics go, most of the songs are about what you'd expect from an emo-like band, but seeing as Skiba's a satanist, he can't help but add a tone of darkness, right? Overall, the songs are very well-written, and fun to listen to, no matter what your mood.

From start to finish, "From Here to Infirmary" doesn't dissapoint, and if you're gonna get one Alkaline Trio album, make it this.

5 out of 5 stars Nose Over Tail for the Trio.......2006-03-24

Alkaline Trio are a great band that have gained quite a following with the lil Hot Topic mall punk crowd. On the one hand, it's great that they are getting the recognition they deserve. Alkaline Trio are an amazing band, but at the same time part of me wishes I could go back to the days of seeing them in a small venue again. Anyway, when this came out I was totally obsessed with it. From the first track,Private Eye (sticks in your head for days) to the closer, and my personal favorite Crawl this cd is just one catchy song after another. As I get older, my musical taste has changed a bit, and the cds I loved in middle or high school tend to sit on the shelf awaiting a sentimental listen every once in awhile. But From Here To Infirmary is one cd I come back to again and again. I still know every song by heart and love it the same as I did the very first time I heard it. This is Alkaline Trio at their best, pop punk at its best and one of my all time favorite cds.

speechlesss... every track on this cd is worth the time of listening too.... buy it

5 out of 5 stars I Still Believe! .......2005-04-17

Finally, REAL, LOUD, and TRUE punk! With all the punk bands that are out today, Alkaline Trio has separated themselves from them. Although I am not a big fan of punk I have an admiration for the drummers. It takes a lot of concentration and patience to play those fast upbeat songs for 4 straight minutes!. Alkaline Trio has an excellent drummer, not to mention great and emotional lyrics. I like their musical arrangements and their creativity. Simple Plan? Green Day? Sum 41? Box Car Racer? blink 182? No. When you think of punk you should think of Alkaline Trio because they play it and play it well. I thought punk was going to it's worst decade ever with everyone thinking they can do it but Alkaline trio still makes me believe there is unique punk out there.

5 out of 5 stars Don't buy the import.......2007-02-13

This is the third full length album from A3. A very good album, combining energetic and catchy punk rock with dark, witty, and often tongue in cheek, lyrics.

I would however, discourage anyone from buying this Import version of the album. I suggest buying the regular North American version AND also buying the newly released "Remains" rarities album. Remains has Hell Yes, the bonus song on this release, along with many other hard to find A3 songs. Remains also has a version that comes with a DVD with video footage of the band. You can buy both of these albums and it will come sooner and STILL will be CHEAPER than buying this one import.

3 out of 5 stars Try the others.......2003-11-19

The third instalment from the dark and warped Trio, is, well dissapointing to say the least by far the worst album.
Matt Skiba's lyric writing dipped at an unfortunate time, as the band were on the verge of becoming something they deserve, a great band, Only the signature tune 'Private eye',the fast punk fest of armageddon, the uninventive but well liked 'Stupid Kid' and the angel amongst devils 'steamer trunk' save the record, but still "Maybe i'll catch fire" remains the darkest and most forfilling album by the trio to date, so buy that one instead!
