Editorial Reviews
Product Description
Japanese edition of the US punk-pop act's third album includes one bonus track, 'Hell Yes'. Recommended for fans of Green Day, Jawbreaker & The Get Up Kids. Vagrant Records. 2002.
A lot of people would classify Alkaline Trio as pop-punk, but I'm not one of them. At least with this album, I wouldn't (their latest album, "Crimson" is quite a bit more poppy). On "From Here to Infirmary", the tracks are very catchy, and will most likely be stuck in your head for a while the first time you hear them. Matt Skiba's voice is very distinctive, and helps set Alk3 apart from other punk/emo fusion bands. Dave Andriano also sings on a few tracks. As far as lyrics go, most of the songs are about what you'd expect from an emo-like band, but seeing as Skiba's a satanist, he can't help but add a tone of darkness, right? Overall, the songs are very well-written, and fun to listen to, no matter what your mood.
From start to finish, "From Here to Infirmary" doesn't dissapoint, and if you're gonna get one Alkaline Trio album, make it this.
I would however, discourage anyone from buying this Import version of the album. I suggest buying the regular North American version AND also buying the newly released "Remains" rarities album. Remains has Hell Yes, the bonus song on this release, along with many other hard to find A3 songs. Remains also has a version that comes with a DVD with video footage of the band. You can buy both of these albums and it will come sooner and STILL will be CHEAPER than buying this one import.
Matt Skiba's lyric writing dipped at an unfortunate time, as the band were on the verge of becoming something they deserve, a great band, Only the signature tune 'Private eye',the fast punk fest of armageddon, the uninventive but well liked 'Stupid Kid' and the angel amongst devils 'steamer trunk' save the record, but still "Maybe i'll catch fire" remains the darkest and most forfilling album by the trio to date, so buy that one instead!

Album Description
The Alkaline Trio has managed to put together a masterpiece on this, their third full length studio album. It is everything a punk record should be - dark, moving, cynical, hopeful, wide eyed and world weary all at the same time. Recommended for fans of Green Day, Jawbreaker and The Get Up Kids. Standard jewel case. 2001 release.Customer Reviews:
