Punk rock is meant to be played loud and snotty. Blink 182 are a San Diego punk rock threesome whose interest in arrested development has led them to a sparkling array of sex jokes that cover everything from anal sex to masturbation to... Well, you get the idea--and that's just the between-song banter. This limited-edition live collection--a holding pattern until the band's fifth studio album is released in 2001--features a slam-dunk collection of the band's hits, fan favorites from their various studio albums, and new tunes ("Blew Job" among the enlightened tracks). One additional studio track, "Man Overboard" (already a hit on a radio near you), packs a harder punch than most, thanks to the studio finesse. But mostly these are revved-up versions of songs to break a skateboard by. With the added appeal of a color booklet and about seven minutes of "stage banter" tacked on at the end, guaranteed to either leave you in stitches or have you grounded for a month. --Rob O'Connor

5 out of 5 stars juvenile humor...makes me feel like a juvenile - hooray!.......2007-07-17

Blink 182's live album kicked some serious whoo-hoo! I loved it!
See, I went to the Mark Tom and Travis show concert just after Enema of the State was released, and this album brings back some good memories. The Jr. High humour is unrelenting and hillarious! I did, however, feel very awkward at the concert for all of the teens with their parents with them... this isn't the kind of thing that you take your parents to (the parental advisory sticker is well deserved), but rather the kind of thing that you share with all of your friends. This album is tops. It took me ages to find it at a good price (some people wanted $50 for it!!!!) cuz it isn't that well-known. But trust me, if you like Blink's older stuff (Dude Ranch and Cheshire Cat) like the Depends song and Ben Wa Balls etc, then this is the album is right up your alley! And if you're not familiar with those albums, well, get them too. They're classic and completely light-hearted. Anyhow, enjoy this album!

3 out of 5 stars good.......2006-07-01

this is a good live album. i dont watch mtv and i hope no one else does but this is good live. the jokes in between songs are hilarious as long as your not uptight or disgusted by their language. the bestpart is the 20 something tracks of them just talking.

buy this if you enjoy blink. if not, go buy something else. its plain and simple.

3 out of 5 stars Good Cd.......2006-04-04

This is a good live blink 182 cd....Almost too good. I have a couple other concerts of them and the quality of their singing and playing isn't anything compared to this one. I thing their was some kind of tampering with the vocals. On the other blink cds, you can't even understand half of the things tom says, but everything is clear and understandable on this cd. Oh-well, besides that, the cd is good because they change the voice patterns on some songs like What's my age again and Voyeur and Pathetic. Even if they did mess with the cd, i still love them.

5 out of 5 stars Brillient.......2005-11-30

Such good fun and humour. Tom and Mark are so funny and first time listening to it really made me laugh. Also the songs on it are awesome from their best album enema of the state.

you have not lived until you have listened to it

5 out of 5 stars They should play studio albums live.......2005-11-26

im a casual fan of blink 182 so nobody yell at me for saying somthing wrong about the band. anyway this is a phenomanal cd. The songs live sound a lot better than in the studio because there given a edgy and quicker feeling and of corse theirs the audiance interaction. this is a great cd but really hard to find(i had to get it from a friend because i couldnt find it anywere else) but if u keep searching ull find someone with it

Album Description

This greatest-hits collection spans the short career of one of pop-punk's most celebrated outfits, blink-182. The album features tracks from their 1994 debut Buddha through to the more experimental final album, 2003's blink-182. The album serves as a perfect introduction into the band's hook-driven pop-punk which has always involved a large dose of frat-boy toilet humor.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Blink 182.......2007-05-07

Great album. They really should have included Give Me One Good Reason, though. Thats probably their best song. Adam's Song is the best song on this album definetly. I wish they were still together.

4 out of 5 stars to all.......2007-04-10

i am a huge blink-182 fan. people have to stop saying "blink isnt 'PUNK ROCK'" get over it.... i know they arent punk. punk you know is screaming words you cant understand and blaming the world for your problems. go listen to Black Flag and see what i mean. blink-182 did an excellent job as a band and now they are finished. Dammit was totally remade and it sounds alot better. blink-182 was a band inspired by The Cure, The Misfits, and The Desendents and some poppy music and you can hear it for yourself when you listen. therefore, they arent true punk, the music gives you the chills and reminds you of when you were a kid, which is what i love. selection for this album could of been better though, which is why i give it a four. STOP GIVING REVEIWS THAT SAY THEY ARENT PUNK..... WE ALL KNOW!!

5 out of 5 stars great for coffee!!.......2007-03-23

After dealing with zombies all day, I like to come home and relax. I usually wind down with a cup of mocha and yell at the dolt on the radio who is trying to tell me to go see Al Gore's movie. Al Gore is not an actor and he is not even half the athlete that Frank is. Speaking of Frank the forty niners have not done squat since Steve Young retired but my team is the Bears. Oh well we lost the superbowl but back to what I was saying, when I get home and relax I need something to set my coffee mug down on and any cd by this band is great for that. really really great because they are so annoying and boring. the cd is worth the money for a coaster though and i let me children smash the jewel cases with bats sometimes. it teaches them hand eye coodination much better than those silly video games the zombie kids are playing. no wonder everyone thinks the world is going to end, with all these zombies running around!!!

5 out of 5 stars Great.......2007-02-28

Great CD, some of the best Blink182 songs around. For those of you with nothing of theirs go with it and find out what you like then go buy their other stuff.

4 out of 5 stars Not a Bad Compilation.......2007-02-18

I'm 15 i just dont have an account. Anyways Blink 182 is one of the greatest bands ever. If you dont think so then you are an idiot. I would suggest buying all there albums instead of this but if your new to Blink 182 then you should get this first. Heres a review of each track.

1.Carousel-5/5 from Cheshire Cat. excellent song. Very creative and exellent bass and guitar work. Very old school
2.M+Ms-5/5 from Cheshire Cat. insane guitar intro. very laid back summery song.
3.Dammit-5/5 from Dude Ranch. hands down one of the greatest guitar riffs ever. Great Song. I love the pissed off lyrics.
4.Josie-4/5 from Dude Ranch good song. cool bass in the beginning. its about the perfect girlfriend.
5.Whats My Age Again? 5/5 From Enema of the State. hilarious song. very melodic guitar. one of their best songs.
6.All the Small Things-5/5 From Enema of the State. you cant not like this song. by far their most famous song. the kinda the song you would blast on your car stereo in the summer time.
7.Adams Song 5/5- from Enema of the State. beutiful song but pretty depressing. its about suicide and being depressed.
8.Man Overboard 5/5- from The Mark,Tom,and Travis Show. cool song about their ex-drummer Scott Raynor.
9.The Rock Show 4/5- From Take off your pants and jacket. Good but a little too poppy. nothin really special about it.
10.First Date 5/5- From Take off your pants and jacket. Very famous song. cool guitar solo.
11.Stay together for the kids 5/5 From Take off your pants and jacket. Awesome song. Sad though cause its about divorce.
12.Feeling This- 5/5 From the self titled album. really good song. the bridge part that mark sings always gives me chills.
13.I Miss You- 4/5 From the self titled album. pretty good but slow and a little bit emo.
14.Down- 4/5 From the self titled album. this one took a while to grow on me. kinda sad.
15. Always- 5/5 From the self titled album. very upbeat love song. awesome drums and cool bass intro.
16.Not Now- 5/5 new song. very good. gives me chills. it also makes me sad because it reminds me of when they broke up.
17.Another Girl Another Planet- 5/5 cover song. i forget who did the original. good song. nice way to end.
overall its a good greatest hits and you should buy it if you want to get into blink 182.

On their 1997 release, Dude Ranch, juvenile hardcore-pop band Blink 182 tickled the funny bone with an assortment of dumb sex jokes, off-color artwork, and between-song skits, including one of a dog drinking from a freshly peed in toilet. So, two years down the road, have the band matured at all? One look at the cover of Enema of the State, which features cover art of a tarted-up blonde nurse donning a rubber glove, provides the easy answer. Fortunately, Enema supports the humor with strong musicianship. The songs are more dynamic and multitempoed than those on Dude Ranch, sounding like a cross between the Descendents and Fountains of Wayne. And unlike the glut of alt-rock releases that offer one or two memorable songs, Enema is flush with instantly memorable melodies and ear-pleasing harmonies. Good, dirty fun--no more, no less. --Jon Wiederhorn

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Blink 182 knew what they are doing........2006-12-29

In, this album they knew what they were doing. There are songs with Mark, songs with Tom, and songs with both of them. Every song has something to enjoy about it and you won't find yourself skipping bad tracks that often. For punk fans, this is the stuff.

5 out of 5 stars Absolute pop-punk classic.......2006-09-25

1999 was a crazy year. Everyone was getting prepared for Y2K. Everyone was out seeing Star Wars Episode 1, Toy Story 2, and The Sixth Sense. It was a year of popstars (Britney Spears, N*SYNC, Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys) and rap-rockers (KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock), but among them came a little punk trio of guys in their mid-20's singing teen anthems along to simple, catchy, energetic music that would inspire hit music for years to come. That band was blink-182, the band that created tons of hits, inspired millions of teens to start bands, and popularized the term "pop-punk", and it all happened with this album.

Enema of The State is now considered a rock classic. From beginning to end, its one of the catchiest, most energetic, melodic, and loudest records ever. The lyrics range from hilarious (The Party Song) to heartfelt (Going Away To College), to a combination of both (Anthem).

Tom's powerchords are the loudest and crunchiest I've ever heard on a pop album, and his lead riffs are some of the simplelest but catchiest I've ever heard, and come on- what kid starting to learn guitar nowadays doesn't try to learn Adam's Song? Vocally his bratty voice fits songs perfect with him taking over the vocals on songs such as Dumpweed, Aliens Exist, Dysentary Gary, All The Small Things, Mutt, and Anthem. Mark plays bass very simply, but his tone is very clean and complements guitar and drums very well. His fills in the bridge of What's My Age Again? are perfect as well. Vocally Mark has a cleaner voice than Tom, which works well on the songs he sings- Don't Leave Me, Going Away To College, What's My Age Again, Adam's Song, The Party Song, and Wendy Clear. That brings us to Travis- but what hasn't been said about this guy already? He's f-ing amazing! His beats are incredibly fast and his fills are timed and calculated spot on. He's definetly got to be one of the greatest drummers of all time.

This record is just a straight up classic. Look at so many of the popular rock bands that emerged in the 2000's- Sum 41, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Yellowcard, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco... Would any of these bands have been able to achieve so much popularity if blink hadn't kicked the doors of pop-punk wide open? I think not. So whether your just chilling in your room, going on a road trip, or having a pool party- throw this record on and rock out, because it's perfect.

1 out of 5 stars WOW THEY SUCK.......2006-09-04

God these poesurs couldn't be anyworse. Whats funny is that travis barker is getting a divorce!! He sucks!!!

5 out of 5 stars Great cd, even though it is old.......2006-09-01

Just Adam's Song makes this cd worth getting. It is the best song I have ever heard. Besides from it, there are other good ones on the album. All The Small Things was the first blink-182 song I ever heard. I don't understand what it's about, but it is really good. What's My Age Again? has hilarious lyrics, but it is still a great song. blink-182 may be gone, but this cd is still one of the best ones ever.

5 out of 5 stars What turned me onto Blink..........2006-07-26

I remember ripping open the plastic on the album and going to heaven...seriously, this CD is that sweet. Yes, everyone has heard of Blink thanks to the likes of 'What's My Age Again' and of course the outragous video...but this album is so much more than just three naked guys and a hot nurse. Yes, 'All The Small Things' and even the downer 'Adam's Song', which tackles the before-thoughts of suicide, are great songs to reference when speaking of Blinks talent, but this album has real gems admists all the radio hits. Take for example the blistering opener 'Dumpweed' which is one killer way to start off the album, or the horndog brilliance of 'Mutt' which is probably the best track here. And there's the happy-go-lucky feel to 'Going Away to College' and 'Dysentery Gary' and of course the amply titled 'The Party Song'...and then there's 'Aliens Exist'...I just love that song! Anyways, hands down one of their best all around CD's, strong throughout and completly entertaining!!!

Their formula is simple enough--equal parts teenage humor and brattiness combined with infectious guitar hooks that just beg to be cranked up on the stereo. But with Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, the guys in Blink 182 may have delivered their best album to date, a punk-pop fusion that's so consistent you'll wonder which of the 13 tracks will become radio hits (any has the chance, really). Yes, as with Dude Ranch and Enema of the State, the songs here revolve around falling in love ("The Rock Show," "First Date"), falling out of love ("Online Songs," "Happy Holidays, You Bastard"), and plenty of other ways to kill time while away from school ("Reckless Abandon"). And yes, these guitar-driven songs all pretty much sound the same, but Take Off never gets boring. There's too much nervous energy here, too many slight variations in the arrangements, and too many hilarious lyrics that you won't want to miss. Parents may remember that the Buzzcocks used this same shtick in the late '70s, older siblings may remember that Green Day did it well not so many years ago, but Blink fans know that their band is more clever than anyone else playing today. The bonus tracks are throwaways, but that's OK--the threesome have given us plenty to bop our heads to here. --Jason Verlinde

5 out of 5 stars Information for the haters........2007-05-02

For the people who keep saying that Blink 182 is an immature band.

Blink never wanted to be taken seriously as a band.
They wholeheartedly intended to be a joke, an immature band.
You can't hold their purpose against them.

And as for saying they are not punk.
Blink 182 didn't christen themselves as punk.
It was the stupid fans who did that.
Anyone who knows music knows that real punk existed in the 60's, the dawning of the Punk Movement.
Don't blame that on the band either.

We all know that Tom Delonge cannot play the guitar.
But you have to admit that Mark is a pretty decent bassist.
And to say that Travis Barker is a mediocre drummer, is lying through your teeth.

You are supposed to take Blink's music for what it is.
It is supposed to be taking light-heartedly.
You are supposed to laugh at the sheer mediocrity of it.
If you can't be immature enough for a few seconds to embrace that reaction, then it is yout own fault and not the band's.

5 out of 5 stars Great CD.......2007-04-21

My favorite blink CD of all time. Standouts for me are "Give Me One Good Reason", "Story of a Lonely Guy", and "Anthem Pt. 2". As a drummer, I can't ignore Travis Barker's amazing beats. I personally love Tom's singing, but not as much as Mark's. It's sad that blink broke up, because they were a great band.
Anthem Part 2: Love the drum line. Personally i prefer Enema's Anthem part one, but I still love this song. 10/10
Online Songs: short and sweet. very fast 8/10
First Date: This got overplayed unfortunately, and it got tiring. I still love the song though. 8.5/10
Happy Holidays: Hilarious song...not surprisingly, my parents abhor it.
Story...: Love LOve LOOVE this song...second favorite on the cd. 10.5/10
Rock Show: Good song...one of the less interesting. 8/10
Kids: Powerful guitars/lyrics/vocals. Very emotional song. 8.5/10
Rollercoaster: One of the best Travis Barker lines on the cd. 9/10
Reckless Abandon: FUNNY SONG...one of my favorites! 10/10
Everytime: Good drumming from Travis. 9/10
Give Me One Good Reason: I love this song the most on this cd! I love the lyrics, the guitar, the drumming, the vocals...EVERYTHING FLOWS! 15/10
Shut Up- ANGRY song...Sounds a lot like roller coaster actually. 8/10
Please Take Me Home: Good closer. 9/10

To the reviewer a couple reviws below me: We're not trying to bash/dehumanize you, we're just giving you our opinions. But you showed no class in the way you expressed your opinion. It's kinda funny that you call blink "whiny" and "immature" when really, you are much worse.
Oh and NEVER compare blink-182 to K-Fed, because not only do you sound immature, you sound pretty freakin' stupid. And you owe Tammy Peterson an apology for your little 'note' there. SO uncalled for.

A Kid's Review
I love this CD and I wish Blink hadn't have split up. I'll start by saying I don't think Tom is the best singer in the world (the studio makes him sound good, but live he's pretty awful), nor do I think he's a particularly talented guitarist. Now with that said, I will say I thoroughly enjoyed this record. Best songs include Anthem Pt. 2, First Date, Rock Show, Stay Together For The Kids, Story Of A Lonely Guy, and What Went Wrong. You can't compare Mark, Tom, and Travis's latest efforts to Blink... they've both gone in different directions. However, I will say that I would chose Blink over +44 or AVA anyday.

I do recommend this CD to people who LIKE this kind of music. I really get fed up of people reviewing a CD of a pop-punk band, clearly stating that it is is a load of rubbish, and then telling people to go and listen to Bon Jovi instead... not that I have anything against Bon Jovi.

1 out of 5 stars Grow Up........2007-02-01

College Kid

My goodness. I can't believe this band was as popular as they were. They weren't good whatsoever. I am also a little annoyed by the people who like to bash and dehumanize reviewers who give this album 1 star. It's called expressing your opinion, [...]. As for "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" it is lame. Have you even heard the lead singers, especially Tom. Good lord, I have never heard such whining and more annoying voice in my life. He can't sing, IMO. Also, how 'bout the guitar riffs? All it is is a bunch of power chords. It sounds like they use the same chords for almost every song on here. Not to mention, the lyrics. These lyrics are incredibly juvenile and immature. Seriously, "Happy Holidays". Hey man, these lyrics are so bad their not even close to shocking (I assume that's why they wrote it).

It is sickening to think that a band like this one and Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Fall-Out Boy, Paris Hilton, K-fed, etc. enjoy more success and fortune than most actually talented people will ever receive in a lifetime.

Overall, I hated this album and the band; 0 stars. I don't recommend this album to anybody who appreciates good music. Also, a little note to Ms. Tammy Peterson. I have an opinion just like anyone else. You can't stand that somebody actually doesn't like the bands you like. My advice is keep your opinions to yourself if you can't say anything better than that. You talk about constructive criticism and respectful opinions, yet look at your comment. You f***in' hypocrite. Take your "respect" and shove it up your a.. You f***ing sellout. F*** You.

Terrific sales of their independent Cheshire Cat got Blink-182 signed to a major label (MCA) for 1997's Dude Ranch, which led to radio hits ("Dammit," "Josie") and platinum sales. No "sell-out" on the band's part, though, as Dude Ranch simply features another infectious collection of snotty vocals, punchy rhythms, vivid lyrics, and aggressive chords. San Diego producer Mark Trombino shines some of the scuffed edges, but this is still good ol' Blink at its sunny, effervescent best. Nice "emocore" spoof here ("Emo"), plus an odd knack for crafting bass-lines that recall--seriously!--New Order, and vocal harmonies that owe debts to the Beach Boys. --Mark Woodlief

5 out of 5 stars Very Good!.......2007-01-21

A must have album. If you're new to Blink182, then this is a good album to start out with.Awesome songs like "Dammit" "Josie" and "I'm Sorry".Most of their songs are sex jokes."Voyeur" is...well, the name it's self explains what the song is about."Degenerate" is about Tom Delonge (Blink182 guitarist) is running around in the middle of the night drunk, naked, passes out and is found later in a guter.Later on in the song he sings about going to a farm to tip some cows.Finding that he left his pants down.He bends over to pull them up and finds a farmer pointing a gun at him.So mostly the songs are kinda "inapropreat"

The album Cheshire Cat is no different. In one song they sing about wetting themselves all the time.

But mostly you will find in allmost all of their songs that they're all about girls and love.Very "Pop-Punk"

But if you enjoy that kinda stuff and a good laugh then this album is for you.If you like Fall out boy and Panic! At the disco you'll probably like this band.

1 out of 5 stars Unhappy.......2007-01-09

I ordered the game for my daughter on 11/28/06 quite confident that her wish list items were bought and I could forget about it. I never recieved it and was never informed by Amazon that it was returned as undeliverable. So on Christmas day when she opened her presents, she asked where it was. I told her I ordered it and we started looking about the house as to where it was. After going on the computer to the website I then found out that it was returned and my credit card had been reimbursed. Shame on them. I will not use them again. I believe they got too big for their britches and the customers are the ones paying the price.

5 out of 5 stars Blows everything out of the water!!!!.......2006-09-14

Dude Ranch makes EOTS and TOYPAJ look like the worst albums ever. Except for the blink's self-titled album, the record beats everything they have ever done. I was entertained through out the whole album and every song was as good as the last, particulary "Emo" which actually reminds me of some of Jimmy Eat World's old stuff. The guitar is actually really good compared to blink's other records (i.e. Degenerate, I'm Sorry, Waggy) though it definately isn't anything close to something like Jimmy Hendricks or Van Halen, but who cares :) To sum it up, your blink-182 collection is not complete without Dude Ranch!

5 out of 5 stars Still sets the bar after all these years.......2006-08-21

It's been almost ten years now since Blink 182 released Dude Ranch (oh God, I'm getting old!) , and yet it still sets the bar for what a pop-punk album should sound like. While "Enema of the State" may have sold more albums and truly made Blink 182 a household name, many people were introduced to Blink 182 via the radio single "Dammit (Growing Up)". While many simply placed the cd back on their shelves after they played that song out, many others discovered that they were quickly falling in love with Mark, Tom and Scott and the rest of the "punk" rock movement of the late 90's. While I'm sure Tom Delonge's voice was an awful shock to many who purchased Dude Ranch after hearing "Dammit", older fans as well as new recruits were addicted. Dude Ranch starts off with the best formula Blink had to offer; Mark and Tom trading off vocals over a fast punk rock beat. If "Pathetic" didn't/doesn't do it for you, you should probably put down the cd. However if you find it hard to wipe the smile off your face, you'll find out that the rest of the album is truly a punk rock classic. "D*ckips", "Apple Shampoo", "Emo", "A New Hope" and "Josie" (which had some small success as the follow up to Dammit)are my favorites, but their are really no bad songs on Dude Ranch (although I don't usually listen to "I'm Sorry" anymore). This is the last time Blink 182 would sound this way for an entire album. Scott Raynor would leave the band and be replaced by the more talented Travis Barker, but whose drumming is truthfully less "punk rock" than Scott's was. Tom's vocals would become overproduced, and Mark's catchy little bass solo's would become almost non-existent. I'm not sure how this album comes or will come across to those who discovered Blink later in the band's career, but I can speak for all of the older fans when I say that Dude Ranch is a true classic, that can never be replicated or replaced. *****

While Blink-182's pop-punk has given more than its share of entertaining moments over their career, "sonic experimentation" is hardly what you'd expect from their sixth studio album. Within their guitar-bass-drums template, however, they offer moments of playfulness and lyricism that stretch their definition of sound. The tempo changes and uses of (relative) silence in "Violence" and "Stockholm Syndrome" borrow post-punk conventions, and lend a new feel to the band's trademark cranked-upness. (The use of treated piano on the latter song also suggests that they've bent an ear to a few psychedelic-pop classics in their time.) As with 2001's Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, a theme of loneliness emerges upon the first couple of listens, but this time it feels as if Blink wants to connect it to something larger than before. Growth from the guys who once jokingly celebrated man-on-dog intercourse? Yeah. And best of all, it's worth hearing. --Rickey Wright

This CD shows a lot of growth for the band and shows a broader range than their previous cds. It was a very good album to end on.

5 out of 5 stars The Best blink-182 CD ever made!.......2007-03-06

This CD is by far the best blink CD that they ever made. Mark Hoppus and Tom Delonge showed their maturity on this album and really put together a fantastic record. I'll go through all of the songs and rate them:

1. Feeling This (10/10) This song is simply great. Hoppus and Delonge's lyrics are different but relate to each other, coming together for an energetic, catchy song.
2. Obvious (7/10) This is an interesting song, Delonge does all of the singing. The middle of the song changes tempo with a great bridge, lyrics are good.
3. I Miss You (10/10) Once again, Hoppus and Delonge harmonize greatly in this song. The chorus features Tom singing with Mark in the backround, and a beautiful piano outro completes the song.
4. Violence (8/10) Probably the darkest song blink-182 ever wrote. Kind of scary, even, but an overall good song.
5. Stockholm Syndrome (7/10) A fast paced, somewhat catchy song, a lot of emotion and distortion in this song.
6. Down (7/10) Good lyrics, meaningful song, but a big time downer, too depressing for me sometimes. It still stuck in my head for awhile when I first heard it though. The outro leads beautifully into the next track.
7. The Fallen Interlude (6/10) An instrumental song, dark and moody. It can be looked at as sort of a rap beat. It's Ok.
8. Go (7/10) As Delonge says, this song deserves to be playted really loud. Very fast, punkish song.
9. Asthenia (8/10) Look up the word Asthenia to see what this song is about. Quite cathcy, the intro is about 50 seconds long and features real NASA transmissions and radio voices. It's rad.
10. Always (10/10) Awesome song, one of the best on the album. Deep lyrics, and upbeat. Delonge sings his heart out in this one.
11. Easy Target (6/10) I didn't reall like this song as much as the others, though it is still Ok. Kind of feels like it drags on a bit.
12. All Of This (5/10) Surprise! Robert Smith of The Cure is a guest vocalist in this song. It is a continuation of the previous track. Unfortunately I don't like Smith's monotonous voice and this song isn't great.
13. Here's Your Letter (7/10) This song is just Ok. I don't really know why it's on the album, probably just a filler song. It could be better.
14. I'm Lost Without You (9/10) The album finishes strong with this song. I love it. Six, minutes long and very emotional. Finishes with a really cool drum solo.

Overall this CD is great, however if you are a fan of old school blink-182 this isn't for you. I'd defininely recommend it, as it is one of the best CDs, if the not THE BEST in my collection.

1 out of 5 stars This.........2007-01-31

Is why once you reach a certain age and you make pop-ish you should be thrown off a cliff.

This whole album is a bunch of whining its horrible his voice bothers me(I listen to Rush and Coheed and Cambria!)

I loved them when they were funny.

If they could make good serious music I'd love them now.

so unfortunate

1 out of 5 stars Terrible........2007-01-23

College Metalhead

Pathetic is a better word to describe it. I am so glad that Blink-182 is through. They finally wore out their welcome in the music industry. When a band that sucks as much as this one, it's only a matter of time before people realize that they do. Blink sucks and always has. No hard feelings to the fans(not).

Anyways, back to this pathetic excuse for an album. The idea that they were going to try to be serious this time around was very laughable. All I can do when I hear songs from this album is laugh. It also saps me of all my energy and gives me a headache. That's why I try to avoid their songs at all cost. Let me tell you why I hate this album:

The lead-off single is absolutely horrific called "Feeling This." What a bunch of immature imbeciles. Here's some of the lyrics:
Show me the bathroom floor
Show me the way to bed
I want to take off her clothes

Disgusting! This is lame frat boy crap is what this is. And I don't care if these aren't the exact lyrics. You got a problem, deal with it. Also, another song on hear that makes me want to break the stereo. That one is called "I Miss You." I can't remember when I have ever heard such whining before. I absolutely hate Tom's voice. How can a man in his thirties' sound this immature and whiny. Btw, he can't sing to save his life to all you sissies who think he's so talented. Hate to break it to all you Blink fans, but they never were good or were even close to it. If you want real musical talent try bands like U2, Metallica, Daughtry, 10 Years, Pantera, Black Sabbath, Alice In Chains, Tool, etc.

One more mention of a track on here: "Down." Terrible song, terrible riffs, and ridiculously adolescent lyrics. So, as I said, Blink-182 is horrible and will always be remembered as such. Thank the Lord they are done. I was extactic when I heard the news. This band was/is for adolescent kids/young adults who have nothing better to do than whine and complain about how much their lives suck. Hey idiots, grow up and shut up! You spoiled, ungrateful brats.

5 out of 5 stars Their Last Album.......2007-01-21

Before I start I would just like to correct somthing.

On track 12 "All of this" has Robert Smith (The Cure) singing and Tom Delonge singing in the background.A lot of people don't know that and think that it's Mark singing but it's not.

Unfortunantly the bands last album.Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus are now doing +44 and Tom Delonge is now doing Angels and Airwaves.Atleased they made their last album a good one.I recomend songs like "I miss you", "Down", "Violent" and "All of this"

A lot less Drums,Guitar, and bass and a lot more instruments. They seemed to "Mature" more on this album.A lot less sex jokes. But they still like to sing about girls and love.Well whatever.Get it.You won't regret it at all.A very good album.

4 out of 5 stars blink is punk.......2006-02-01

alright many people say Blink-182 is not punk and i say those people can F*** OFF. this album is punk belive me i know punk my favorite bands are Bad Religion, Sick of it All, Black Flag, G.B.H., Hatebreed, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, NOFX, and The Circle Jerks. now i will admit these guys sold out after Dude Ranch but thats okay. now this is punk-pop but sometimes it is on the edge of those two things. sometimes it even slips over to the pop side of things but most often it is punk. with songs like sometimes, touchdown boy, and does my breath smell make this album a good punk-pop album. they address some very big punk-pop issues like girls, Tv, and jacking off. all the songs are fast, funny, and just over all good. so dont give Blink-182 s*** before you have really listened to it.

4 out of 5 stars "Sellouts"??? PLEASE..........2006-01-11

I have a major problem with people who think that just because someone's gotten noticed and achieved some measure of success that they're automatically a "sellout". My favorite reply to that comment is the one that just hits the complainers right in the shins like a metal pipe. "Yeah, Metallica really sold out...last night they sold out the arena and the night before that and the night before that!" Chechire Cat is just one of two independent albums that got the majors to notice this band and sign them. And there's not a thing wrong with that. If you're in a band for a living, you're not in the business to remain someone's little secret. If you are, then you've got a day job you aren't giving up. This is a bit rough by comparison to their later stuff, but that's nothing different either. You find your way and in the process, you find your groove, you get better at it, and with the years comes a little more refinement of what you do...and yes, your style evolves and changes over the years. It's natural and should be expected. This is great early stuff and a really cool look back to those days, but to refer to the band as a sellout is ridiculous. No one forced them to write the stuff that gave them some of their biggest hits. It's a nice sentiment to think "we're not doing this for the money". Nice, but misguided. We all do our jobs to pay the bills; these guys just have a great job and they obviously love what they do. If they didn't, they would've stopped ages ago.

5 out of 5 stars My Favorite Punk.......2005-12-07

These are some of the best songs, perfect for summer. A very good start to an incredible band. Speed punk as I like to call it. When ever I'm pissed off I put in this album and it always takes the edge off my anger and turns me into the kid I was in my eternal summer.

3 out of 5 stars Not good........2007-03-04

The swear words aren't the bad part. Its the music and especially the vocals. Blink 182 was a new punk band though. They just had no experience. Well, look at 'em now! Awesome! Why did they have to break up? I reccommend any Green Day, Weezer, BoDeans, and any other blink except maybe ":cheshire cat" and "Flyswatter"

2 out of 5 stars Their early stuff. Not that good........2006-12-29

Blink 182 is by all means a great band, but their early work such as Buddha, isn't that great. It seems more like random themed songs without any passion than the hard rocking tunes they have made in albums like Enema of the State.

4 out of 5 stars awesome.......2006-12-18

Before I get into the review, I've got something to say. To the second guy below me: This was made before cheshire cat and after flyswatter. Flyswatter and Buddha are two completely different things. Flyswatter had 8 songs, and was recorded on a tape deck. Then there were other demos and promos made between the two that not too many people can explain.

Now, to the review:

Is it the sex pistols? no. ramones? no. dead kennedys? no. But is it punk: Yes. Ever heard of the descendents? They rocked, and were possibly one of the most influential punk bands ever. If I had to compare this album to someone, it would be the descendents. While this album may, at some points, seem to venture into pop-punk, it's some of the best pop-punk yet.

Sure, the recording quality sucks, but that just adds to the awesome feel of this album. The band occassionaly messes up vocally and instrumentally, which makes the album feel very natural. Plus, blink had their own identity at this point, so they weren't exactly like every punk band out there. The songs move along at an awesome pace, with very little space between each track.

However, the album could have been a bit more agressive. It seemed like their singing was kinda held back at some points. Some songs could've gone faster, too. But, all in all, it's a good punk album.

5 out of 5 stars it lives up to the title.......2006-07-25

this is my first blink-182 cd, i'm not one of those people who have worshiped them since their very first cd. the first exposur i had to blink-182 was when i saw their The Rock Show video on MTV when i was 11. i had liked them ever since, but never bought anything bought them. i got this because it had all of their best songs. it does run a little long though. although neccisary to show the proggression of the band, i thought Carousel and M+M's were pretty weak songs. i also didn't think it needed 4 songs from their latest album, which got a 'meh' reaction from fans. but my favorite song on the CD, I Miss You, is from that latest album. although i'm late in getting into them, i really hope this isnt the end of blink-182.

5 out of 5 stars BUY IT.......2006-06-10

1. Carousel - 7/10...it's okay, but not one of their better songs
2. M+M's - 8/10...okay...but once again, they made better
3. Dammit - 8/10...pretty descent song, but it could be better
4. Josie -8/10...it's okay, I thought it was kind of repeating
5. What's My Age Again? - 9/10...I laughed so hard when I first heard this song!
6. All the Small Things - 9/10...great song, has a real nice beat to it
7. Adam's Song - 10/10...nothing like there other songs, but you can't help not to like it
8. Man Overboard - 9/10...awesome bass in the beginning, you'll like this song through and through
9. Rock Show - 10/10...One of my favorites on the CD, awesome lyrics and rhythm
10. First Date - 12/10...my favorite song of all time, Incredible lyrics, and you'll be left smiling after hearing the chorus
11. Stay Together for the Kids - 8/10...kind of dark, but the chorus is pretty cool
12. Feeling This - 10/10...they're isn't 1 part in this song I don't like
13. I Miss You - this is the first song I've ever heard of blink, and I instantly became a fan
14. Down - 9/10
15. Always - 9/10...awesome "clicks" in the beginning..you'll get it once you hear it
16. Not Now [#] - 11/10...another one of my favorites, though this one is a bonus track, man does it deserve to be on the "Greatest Hits"
17. Another Girl Another Planet - 10/10...same as "Not Now"

Overall : Do NOT hesitate...get this CD!...NOW!

3 out of 5 stars Can I shoot myself now?.......2006-03-27

Ok, Ok, Blink 182 is an alright band. "What's my age again" "Rock show" and "Feeling this" are awsome songs. But this album is DEPRESSING! The lyrics are very dark in a few of the songs for instance "Adam's song" is about SUICIDE!! And a few of the songs on this album are REALY REALY bad, like Carrosel. I'm not saying Blink 182 is a bad band just one that needs a little prozac. I find myself skiping through half the songs and only listening to about 6 on the whole album. BUT I'd still suggest buying this album, just make sure you have a programable CD player.

5 out of 5 stars Blink Forever.......2005-12-07

I wish, I'll probably just buy this song for "Man over Board", "Not now", and, "Another Girl another Planet" The other songs on the CD are great of course too. I Bass beat on "Not Now" is worth it alone.

5 out of 5 stars Great band of today.......2005-07-26

I remember hearing this music while watching an indoor track meet back in 2000. I heard "Wendy Clear" and thought it was good. In the outdoor track season I had bought the CD and learned to like "Adam's Song" and "All the Small Things." The first time I ever DJed, although I'm not a DJ was at a dinner/dance that spring and I played 4 Blink 182 songs from this album and dedicated each one to someone who was present and who helped to get me into this album. Wonderful alternative rock album, and great without explitives.

5 out of 5 stars Wow.......2004-08-15

Alright, I've been listening to this album for quite some time (un-edited version of course, but i found the comment in the edited section so i thought i'd tear it apart hear, rather than in the other place) To quote precisely: "These guys play about as well as a garage band. They have very basic skills. The guitar playing especially blows. A blind monkey could play better than these guys. As for the songwriting, it seems to be the work of 8th graders. Absolutely juvenile." Wow you have got to be kidding me. Blink sold out a bit with the Edited versions, i must admit, but to say they have basic skills when i doubt very honestly that you could play half the stuff they can anywhere near the speed. And as for calling them a garage band, you must not be a Weezer fan, or you must just be a total dumbass. As for being juvenile, that was the whole intention of Blink-182 in the first place. If this isn't your kind of music, just say you dont like it, dont go bashing the people who do like it and dont make fun of the musicians, even if you can play better than them (highly unlikely in your particular case). If they sucked, they wouldnt have so many CD's and they wouldn't be as popular. Keep that in mind

2 out of 5 stars Great CD but explicit versions better!!!!.......2004-06-24

This is a great cd dont get me wrong but the clean version is horrible. Almost every song your editing words out and it sounds stupid. Do me a favor, if you like the music get the real version!!!

5 out of 5 stars Blink-182 is better then every other PUNK band.......2004-05-26

Blink-182 is the best band out there, and this is their best CD. Here's how I rate their songs.

Dumpweed: 10/10 Awesome Lead Off Song

Don't Leave: 7/10 Worst Song On CD

Aliens Exist: 9/10 Love The Music In The Middle Of The Song

Going 2 College: 9/10: Another Awesome Song

What's My Age Again: 8/10 Would have been better if Tom sang it

Dysentary Gary: 10/10 Ending Kicks Ass

Adam's Song: 10/10 Great song to follow up a total punk song like Dysentary Gary

All The Small Things: 8/10 Got Old after awhile

Party Song: 10/10 Fast Paced Song, but Just As Good as the others

Mutt: 10/10 Hey, it was used in American Pie!

Wendy Clear: 8/10 Decent Song

Anthem: 10/10 It Compares to M&M's on Cheshire Cat, just flat out awesome
