Strange Bedfellows Making Magical Music.......2001-11-24

This cd has no business working. A pianoless quartet with two alto (occasionally an alto and a soprano) saxophones as the front line, plus contrabass and percussion, one would think sonic boredom would soon set in. But Peter Epstein and Rob Brown are such different players, both from the standpoint of timbre and concept, that things are always interesting. Dahlgren himself has an unusual tone and concept in his bass playing. Sounding somewhere between two Charleses--Mingus and Hayden--he does this buzz thing (check out esp. the intro to The Wanderers) that lends unusual color to the proceedings. But what really brings it all together is percussionist Satoshi Takeishi. He's never sounded better, always bringing the exact right percussive coloration to the proceedings, be it hand drums, brushes on snares, rototoms, or sometimes perfect little obscure effects (what is that faint rattle on The Gadfly?).

This is modern, artful, off-kilter, yet swinging jazz featuring some of the very best and most creative musicians on the scene today. Don't miss it.

HE HAS A STYLE THAT IS, WELL LIKE HE SAID IN "PUT SOME DRIVE IN YOUR COUNTRY", A LITTLE SOUTHERN ROCK & COUNTRY AND THAT'S JUST WHAT HE DID. IF IT'S A SLOW DANCING SONG OR "T-R-O-U-B-L-E", TRAVIS IS KICKING IT.

"THE BEST OF INTENTIONS" IS THE NEW TRAVIS, THE FAMILY MAN TRAVIS, THE TRAVIS THAT US 30-SOMETHING FANS CRAVE.

I have been a fan since i first heard Travis;Ilook forward to anything new that he puts out; I liked the song very much and i am looking forward to the cd comming out. It seems like a long time since we had something new. I really like Travis when he sings songs with a fast tempo; but he does a wonderful job on a love song; and that is what this one is.Keep the music comming.

Travis Tritt's ballads.......2000-08-14

I've been a Travis Tritt fan "From the Beginning" and I really like this song. It is a great one to slow dance to or just listen and share it with your love. Nobody does ballads better than Travis.
