Product Description
MAKE LEARNING FUN
With songs that your child already knows and loves
NURSERY RHYMES IN BOTH ENGLISH AND FRENCH
Your child hears the words in English and in French!
BOTH MUSIC AND FOREIGN LANGUAGES HAVE A POSITIVE EFFECT ON YOUR CHILDS ABILITY TO LEARN
SING AND LEARN
The experiences that a child receives in the first few years after birth are crucial to his or her ability to learn later in life. Connections between neurons are formed during infancy and early childhood. These connection or "synapses" constitute the wiring system of the brain. Studies have shown that both music and exposure to a foreign language stimulate these synapses. In addition, experts recognize that early exposure to a foreign language makes learning easier. In fact, emerging research has linked higher SAT scores, enhanced creativity and problem solving skills to a childs proficiency in a foreign language.
An ability to speak more than one language not only improves learning and creativity; it enhances greater understanding and awareness of people from different cultures.
So be a Global Village Kid and open the door to a bigger world!
The lyrics were translated literally, to the extent possible. Slight adjustments to the pronunciation of some words were musically necessary.

Customer Reviews:
Very poor French.......2006-03-08
Great idea, very poor French!.......2005-10-17
Great bilingual CD!.......2005-08-27
It's OK.......2005-08-12
This CD is OK. The singer is very 'operatic' and not really accessible to my child. They don't include the lyrics so I can't sing along as I am a speaker of French as a Second Language and I had difficulty understanding what she was singing.
I have other language/song CD's that I like a lot better like "C'est Si Bon". A lot more fun and 'danceable' for small children.
Happy mom of 2.......2004-05-15
Songs are familiar rhymes that my 5 year old sings in English. He tries to sing the song in the language that is playing. He begins to learn the foreign words with the words that he knows the song in English and teaches himself. He amuses himself as well as me. My 2 year old loves it too. He seems to calm down in the car when I turn in the CD. Great for travelling and doing my car errands. Educational for the kids. Worth it.
