Album Description
The Network is a mystery wrapped in an enigma- the true identities of the bandmembers are unknown. What is knowable is the music- a synthesis of pop and sarcastic social commentary blended into an electronic, New Wave, Devo-influenced post-punk experience. Originally released last September on the indie Adeline Records label of Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, now The Network's debut album, Money Money 2020, premieres on a major label, boosted by the addition of two new tracks, "Teenagers From Mars" (a cover of The Misfits classic) and "Hammer Of The Gods." Outrageous and off-the-wall, the Network challenges the musical status quo with Money Money 2020.
Customer Reviews:
Great Combination of Devo & Green Day.......2006-10-01
This is a wonderful blend of two great bands. It is as if Green Day has infused its young blood into the members of Devo, and the result is an album that captures the energy & feel of Devo's earlier efforts ("Q: Are we not men?", "Duty now for the future", and "Devo Live: The Mongoloid Years"). If you are a Green Day fan and you love this album, I think you would also love the above mentioned Devo albums.
oooover priced. but AWESOME.......2006-06-13
i wanted to buy a cd copy of this, since i only have it downloaded from itunes, but adelinerecords.net is haveing problems, so i thought i'd look here. MY GOD NINETEEN-F***ING DOLLORS??!?!? IN YOUR DREAMS!!! not a chance i'm buying it here. i'll just wait for adeline to fix their site. or go to ameba in berkeley. because and EITHER of those places you can get this for
8 bucks. and i had a dvd with the music videos. pff. (thouhg it doesnt have the last two tracks, but who cares.)
the is definatly the best album EVER. my favorite 'green day' cd, next to 1039smoothed out slappy hours. :) BUYITBUYITBUYIT. but not here!!
Wonderful.......2006-04-26
If you like songs about transistors, drugs, masturbating & outer space, I highly request this cd.;)
Interesting Hybrid.......2006-03-15
Green Day and Devo is quite a combination. This recording has elements of both and also styles that are not really in sync with either. I think it was made to explore new directions that would be misunderstood if it was released under the names of either artist.
That being said, it is an interesting recording with excellent parts that make you want to play it again and again. Definitely recommended for those who like good rock music.
Green Day Redux.......2006-03-15
If you like Green Day, you have to get this CD! I mean, you don't have an option. This is the most killer thing to sit with your Green Day collection and to amaze your friends with. The must-have collector for real fans is The Network's Money Money 2020. I almost prefer it over Green Day's Insomniac, to be honest.

Greenday? Yeah I guess it is, huh? .......2007-01-19
It doesn't sound like GReen Day but it's an awesome cd..I myself couldn't really see any similarities until someone mentioned it to me and I guess if you're trying to you can hear it in his voice like especially on Roshambo. Great cd to get all hyper and bounce around with your friends to, stand out tracks are Money Money 2020, Roshambo and Spike. Nothing too spectacular about the rest but it's damn fun.
It is Green Day.......2006-08-03
This band IS Green Day although it is a slightly different genre. If you wish to know more about this band I highly doubt that you will find it under Green Day. This cd was the product of Billy-Joe, Mike, and Tre just messing around in their earlier days and there are no other Network albums as far as I know.
Great CD.......2006-03-13
Ok This album kicks butt. To the people who say it's crap, you just need to get a life. Don't put albums down because you don't have a taste for this type of music. Remember this is not Green Day. Green Day is a great PUNK ROCK band not, well this genre type of band. The Network is a great band in this genre.Even though it has a few of the members from Green Day in it doesn't mean it is going to be like Green Day. I may be a kid but this album is great. It's funny and it's just good music. So people don't listen to the people who says this cd is crap. It's not. It's great.
Genius. Pure genius........2005-11-08
No doubt about it. It's Green Day/Devo. It would be pointless to argue with that...and it's even stupider to call the Network "crap." "..this is the Network...NOT Green Day...if they wanted to have the same sound they'd call themselves Green Day again." --that should cover most of the Green Day vs. the Network issue. nice job. im thinking that person below me may be associated in some way with [...]. Well done. Using your words to track down a band you hate, and trashing them. Get a hobby, douche.
As for the CD, amazing. Perfect. Genius. I have yet to buy the actual CD/DVD, but i have the songs on my computer, if only i could find the DVD. I love Spike and Roshambo, all these songs are so energetic, sarcastic, yet completely in line and truthful, i think Hungry Hungry may be one of my favorites. I just hope to see more of these people in the future. I love how the Network and Green Day talk trash about eachother, classic. I admit, I am 100%, entirely devoted to all of Green Day's work, but I don't let that bias any of my opinions it.
Go out, listen to some clips of these people, and buy their CD from the Adeline site. NOOWW.
Green day goes robotic.......2004-11-03
Green day goes new wave and creates a lot of unforgettable songs. Short punky sounding new wave songs that have influences that range from the cure , devo, to green day themselves. Mike Dirnt aka "Van Gough" sings most of the songs but Mr. Armstrong sings a couple as "Fink" and even Tre aka "the Snoo" sings "Hungry Hungry". Great album everyone should listen to it. all the songs are amazing.
