Nice variety.......2006-08-20

I found this cd to be an essential in my collection of dance music. Because of the variety of music, I can apply it to typical dance styles and become creative especially with the taxsim style. My opinion is that the more seasoned dancer will greatly benefit from this collection, the novice may find it somewhat repetitious. I offer no regrets towards this purchase.

This is a wonderful CD for belly dance instructors, performers and enthusiasts. It has so many great songs to dance to; fitting the taxsim mood, the entrance lively mood, the popular drum work, etc. IT'S A WORTHY PURCHASE...that's for sure. :) :) :)

It's great to be a kid!.......2006-02-20

We purchased this music for use at my son's 4th birthday party. He is a huge Buzz Lightyear fan and this is the closest thing to Buzz Lightyear music we could find. We used it for a variation of the traditional musical chairs game and at other times had it playing in the background. The kids all got a kick out of it. Some tunes are upbeat and fun to dance to while others were a little more subdued which worked for us too. Now we have it in the car to listen to while running errands. Great for young and old.

Sax Winterlude is a welcome departure from the typical hyper-jolly, sometimes brash holiday CDs. The music is contemplative and perfect for enjoying a hot mug of cocoa or a glass of winter wine.

An Intimate Christmas.......2005-11-06

Another installment in the "Winterlude" CD series, "Sax Winterlude" (Volume 5) gives a somewhat different twist on instrumental Christmas music than the other offerings in the series.

This CD is more attuned to those cold, winter nights when you're with that certain someone in front of the fireplace, or alone with your thoughts and a mug of hot cocoa.

As the name implies, the saxophone dominates this CD, but there is also a good mix of other instruments, making for a contemplative Christmas, which is the real intent of the series.

The players include: Mark Douthit (tenor and soprano saxophone); John Hammond (drums); Gary Lunn (bass); Mark Baldwin (acoustic and electric guitars); Bob Patin and Tim Akers (keyboards); and Eric Darken (percussion).

Don't let the instruments fool you -- "Sax Winterlude" is just as enjoyable a CD as the other offerings in this series. At just under 42 minutes, it is not as long as other Christmas CD's that emphasize quantity over quality, but there is still a good amount of music to hear.

Note: this CD is out of print, so it may be difficult to obtain. However, you will not be dissapointed in obtaining this title. Another recommendation for your Christmas music collection.
