Created a relaxing massage!.......2007-02-01

My massage therapist played this CD today while I got a massage. It was terrific - the flute took me "away" and there was still enough of a base to keep me grounded. I'm ordering it for myself now, so I can share it with other while I massage them.

If your kids can't sleep, this is for you!.......2003-03-21

My daughter has been listening to this after "lights out" since she was 2 years old. She's 14 now and she still loves it, as does my action-man 7-year-old son. I bought three CDs- one for each child, and one for me for playing in rush hour traffic! (My Mom and my sister have it too!) The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because it's a little bit repetitive - but then, that probably helps to induce relaxation. As far as "New Age" music it's a cut above the rest, with nary a pan pipe (ugh!) in sight!

I used this CD during labor to help me relax. It worked great!! The nurses even liked it. My daughter and I now listen to it during the day to create a peaceful environment.

BEAUTIFUL!.......1999-12-11

This CD is one of my very favorites....with Dean's beautiful flute, accompanied by harp, it is great and can put you in a relaxed, meditative state whether you're writing, working, relaxing...or needing some respite from a stressful life event. It is true medicine for the soul, beautiful music that does not sound "new agey" (no synthesizer, etc.) I recommend it without reservation.

Peaceful Retreat in a Hectic World.......2002-01-06

I first heard Peaceful Pond while shopping. Upon hearing it, I felt tremendous peace and comfort and purchased the cassette right then and there. From beginning to end it is soothing and transports one beyond the hectic lifestyle so many of us have embraced. Without hesitation I would recommend this recording.

The World Could Use Much More of This..........2004-11-13

This is NOT a new age collection of meditation music. It IS a collection laid-back, and sometimes spacey, tunes by top notch performers from around the world, including Angelique Kidjo, Salif Keita and Ali Farka Toure. What binds the cd together is the ethereal beauty of each selection, the result of which will leave you in a peaceful mood.
I've listened to this countless times, and it never fails to make me feel good and renew my spirits. And with all of the stress and violence in this world, it's a blessing to have musical sanctuaries like this available to us. Highly Recommended.

Includes a Few Relaxing Songs.......2006-12-12

Although I enjoyed a few relaxing songs on the "Peaceful Planet" CD, I found that several of the tunes actually grated on my nerves - so it hasn't been a good relaxation/meditation CD for me.

Because musical preferences are so subjective, however, I would suggest listening to the snippets of each song available on the product page before ordering - you may have a different reaction to this particular type of music than I have.

This album is wonderfully relaxing to close your eyes and listen to. You are taken on a musical journey across 4 countries. There is a definate ethereal quality to the instumental pieces. You will be delighted with the performances of these four musicians as they perform their country's native music.

a little known gem.......2006-06-19

i first heard kourosh zolani while i was in college in bloomington indiana. a local station played a piece called 'butterflies'. i was imediately captivated by the sadness and joy captured at once in this piece. a strange combination, and a unique, beautiful composition. i spent years searching stores in seattle for it, to no avail. finaly i broke down and ordered it online. i don't mind the endearingly silly cd cover. is that why the picture isn't on amazon? clearly a low budget cd production, and not fair to the beautiful music this cd contains. tracks like 'good bye home land' and, 'snow queen' in particular, are downright haunting and mesmerizing. the tracks 'ghasedak-ha (dandelions)' and 'diadar (at the first glance) are striking and contain virtuso performances by the iranian born santour player. it's so hard to describe this music. if you're wondering, a santour is like a dulcimer. it's a solo instrumental cd. just him playing his santour. some tracks are jubilent, many are meloncholy. while the cd as a whole remains sparse, which is just what has haunted and grown on me, all tracks contain joy of life and music. do yourself a favor and at least check some tracks out at his website. kouroshzolani.com . if you at all love music. please. i doubt you'll regret it.
