I purchased this CD based on the above review and am very pleased.This is an excellent way to review a spectrum of musicians and styles and I intend to purchase Volume 1.

The best Celtic Combo.......2001-03-18

This is the very first Celtic Music CD that I ever bought. I absolutely loved it. I have since bought over 50 Celtic CDs and this one remains my favorite. Track # 3, The Fisherman's Song, is so beautifully full of melancholy, it reaches me in the very depths of my soul. I can listen to this CD if I am driving in my car, cooking dinner, working on homework with my kids, or relaxing in a bubble bath, absolutely anytime. If I lost this CD I would go insane, it's become the Theme Music of my life!

Absolutely one of the best...and I agree with the other reviewer who said that it ranks way up there. Good music is when you listen time and time again and it never tires. This is one of the most relaxing but non-boring, literally music to the ears. You might also want to look at Dan Gibson's Christmas Classics. Both of these albums are the very best.

I heard this cd at a Hallmark store once, and I asked them for the title and went out to purchase it immediately. I love this Cd and play it most often at Christmas...To me it sounds like the kind of music that should really express Christmas sounds and moods of years gone by... when Christmas had a less commercial feeling and more serene and peaceful time.

Beautiful, Riveting Celtic Harps.......2000-11-02

This is beautiful, elegant instrumental Celtic music. Ceoltoiri breathes new life into the classics. They are as new today as they were hundreds of years ago. I've owned many Celtic discs over the last ten years. This is one of the vital few I've kept. My favorite is track 3!! For fans of Ceoltoiri, I also recommend the work of Joemy Wilson! I give it five stars because this is in the top 2% of its genre. I only wish there was more of a percussive/bassy backbone to it.

Album Description

Celtic harp music played and arranged by Jo Morrison. The majority of the tunes are traditional, with a bit of modern interpretation and rhythmic variety. There are five solo harp tracks and eleven duets and trios, performed with a number of outstanding guest musicians including Bonnie Rideout on fiddle, Sue Richards on harp, Walt Michael on Hammered Dulcimer, Paula Glendinning on Great Highland bagpipe, and Bobby Read on clarinet.

Accomplished inspiring harp music.......2002-01-02

As a harpist myself I'm collecting many harp cds from many different performers, and of them all, Jo Morrison's The Three Musics stands out head and shoulders above the rest. Her mix of gentle lullabies with traditional marches and jigs, plus the addition of well chosen instruments (clarinet, cello, hammered dulcimer) to pad out the wonderful harp playing makes this a must-have recording. This is the cd that captures everything about celtic harp for me, and it has everyone smiling and tapping their feet when it gets played.
If you are new to harp music, this is a great introdution, and if you love this kind of music but somehow missed Jo's talents, its time to add this to your collection. The sheet music featuring her arrangements for many of the songs is also available for musicians to enjoy.
