About the Artist
Members originate from all over the globe, finally uniting in Louisiana in 2001. Front woman, Angelina de los Rosarios Lopez, is from the Dominican Republic along with drummer Raymundo Castillo and bassist Hector Ortega. Guitarist Paul Catledge hails from New Orleans while keyboardist Alex Olea Nasralla is from Chile. The band’s main influences are The Police, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Juan Luis Guerra, and La Ley. This combustion of cultures and traditions fuels the textured, dynamic music that Palo Viejo produces. With songs that could be described as anything from salsa-rock to southern gospel, Palo Viejo collides several traditionally separate genres to create something unique and fresh.

I tried it and the mixture of genres is unique, but too novel for my taste. The chilean dude isn't chilean or so I hear.

This cd rocks! Don't worry about one good song with various disappointing others... this cd simply goes from good songs to better. This is a must buy.

Aunque este cd parece poco con solo 6 canciones, es uno de los mejores cds que compre. Si has comprado un cd por una o dos canciones que te gusto y luego no te gusto nada mas del cd - no te preocupes que no pasara. Las canciones todas son fabulosas... este cd no falla!

This is music that just requires you to get up and dance! The lyrics are intelligent. The rhythms are infectious. The music is crisp and well-played. In short, it's an absolutely terrific album.
