Generally light-hearted Scottish vocal music........1999-02-11

A collection of Scottish music, generally in a lighter vein than that in "All the Best From Scotland," vol. II. Most selections are vocal, with Andy Stewart performing 15 of the 20 tracks. Several selections are comical, with one, "The Rumour," performed as an oral poetic presentation. An interesting comparison can be made between the "Maggie" of Andy Stewart in this volume and that of Sydney Devine in vol. II. Stewart's rendition is more lyrical, performed with more musical flair, while Devine more nearly captures the heart and soul of the song. This distinction typifies the style differences between these two volumes. A delightful collection for lovers of Scottish music.

Don't take any notice of that person from watervillie maine united states.
I've been on the web site for over 3 hours and i think that if you are looking for SCOTTISH or other type of musicc this is the place to come and see.
I have been to the Edingbrugh Tattoo and if you want to see The Bagpipes in fasion then go to that.
So take my advice.

A big disappointment.......2001-03-18

I was expecting a lot of bagpipe music- it's almost all singing, with only a little bit of bagpipes in the background. If you are just looking for scottish songs it's good, but if you want just bagpipe music look somewhere else!

Outstanding collection of Scottish music........1999-02-11

This is an outstanding collection of Scottish music, both vocal and instrumental. From the nostalgic "Mull of Kintyre" by Andy Stewart to the lilting "Westering Home" and dance airs, from the sentimental "Road to Dundee" and "When You and I Were Young Maggie" rendered by the clear tenor voice of Andy Stewart to the forboding musical account of the Campbell/McDonald massacre in "Glencoe," these Scottish favorites are delightfully captivating to anyone with an ear for the Scottish heart. Of the three volumes of "All the Best from Scotland," Vol. II is the favoite for this writer.
