Brings back memories.......2006-08-14
Each time I listen to 'O' it brings back a wonderful sense of nostalgia. When the gorgeous, sorrowful longing of "Jeux D'Eau" starts playing I get tingles all over my body, just as I did when I first saw the show at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and the red velvet curtains dropped to reveal the most mesmerizing show I have ever seen on stage - or, in this case, in water.
The story itself is complex yet breathtaking (you can interpret its meaning whichever way you'd like), and the wide range of emotions the music emits only further enhances the sweeping away part.
The melodies are mournful, jubilant, and, as ever, magical...
In short, these beautiful compositions will make you FEEL. So buy this soundtrack, and go see the show if you haven't already!
~Lady M.
One of my favorite Cirque CD's!.......2006-08-08
What takes a Cirque show to another level is the meshing of amazing music into nearly every act. The music brings back the feeling of that night. If you saw the show, and loved it as I did, then the CD is a must have. I would recommend it even for people who have not seen the marvelous show known as "O". This very well be my second favorite Cirque soundtrack, behind Alegria(and Francesca Gagnon) of course;-)
After I saw the show at the Bellagio and left without this CD, I regretted it very much. Music is integral to any Cirque du Soleil show, but this one even moreso than most. These songs bring back the feeling of that magical night. The haunting and lamenting voice in Nostalgie brings back the show as if I were there again. Other favorites are Jeux d'Eau, Mer Noire, Tzelma......and of course "O".
A must own for any lover of Cirque du Soleil!
'Tis my favorite!.......2006-04-08
Funny thing is, I haven't even seen the show for "O," but I have had this album for 5 years now and it has quickly grown to become among my favorite albums of all time. This is probably my favorite cirque du soleil album. While it is versatile in different styles with a clash influence of popular and classical music, such sweet harmonious sounds and a tasteful blend of timbres create a colorful soundtrack to what I could picture to be an incredible show. If they will ever do the show "O" again I'm gonna see it. "Africa" and "Remous" are especially good, as they show much contrast in dynamics, texture, style, and timbre, as well as interpolating background effects to create a vision that one is in Africa during the night. "Gamelan," "Ephra," and "desert" are very well written songs, as well as the title track itself. If you love their music, this is definitely the cream of the crop.
Sexy, Scintillating, Provocative, Nubile & Brilliant.......2006-03-21
As with all the works of Cirque Du Soliel, the music is a vital contributor to the magic.
The "O" Soundtrack is no exception.
Having seen many Cirque Du Soliel performances I find myself
remembering the music more than the amazing acrobatics.
Since I have not had the pleasure of seeing "O" in Las
Vegas, the music has given me an amazing sexy score of
beautifully arranged & elegant sounding symphonies, that matched with amazing aquatic performances, would simply blow me away.
If you are a fan of Cirque, you will love this soundtrack.
5 Stars. Excellent. Nouveau
Benoit Jutras outdid himself on this one. .......2005-12-04
It's a great CD, buy it. Although some songs are a bit mediocre, like "Africa" and "Terre Aride" the CD is still worth listening to.
1. Jeux d'Eau: Wow, this song brings back memories. Sounds like the name of the song: "Dancing Waters!" Very peaceful, with the bells in the background. Kind of Christmas..ish.
2. Mer Noire: Kind of reminds of me of Spanish people.
3. Tzelma: The title reminds me of Aztec people, yet the music reminds me of the Chiquita lady with the fruit in her hat. 0_o.
4. Africa: Kind of boring.
5. Remous: VERY weird, but great. Reminds me of Scottish bagpipes and rainforests at the same time. Benoit Jutras outdid himself with this one.
6. Svecounia: The beginning sounds like fat ladies bouncing up and down in a sleazy setting, but the rest sounds really nice.
7. Nostalgie: Exactly what it sounds like. I love the erhu in the background.
8. Simcha: Great party song. (Let's par-TAY!)
9. Gamelan: Best song on CD. Period.
10. Ephra: Beginning sounds kind of bouncy, middle, sounds rock-ish. When I brought it to class, someone mistook it for a Yu-Gi-Oh! soundtrack. Kinda weird. Nevertheless, a great song.
11. Desert: Mediocre.
12. Terre Aride: Kind of long, and boring.
13. O: Short and sweet, great way to end a CD. Reminds of that theme from "Cats."
Well, enjoy the CD!

Admittedly biased.......2006-04-20
I am, I admit, utterly biased. I worked for the show several years ago, my husband is one of the musicians (when you hear the sax on this CD, that's him) and I have a deep and abiding love and respect for the show, the music and above and beyond all else, the artists who make the experience of show and music what it is: Magical.
One of the suggestions I would make for any Cirque show is don't expect to understand it, just enjoy the energy swirling around - enjoy the music (and don't expect to understand the language, real language is rarely used - call it langue du Cirque - language of the Cirque - if you will - please also understand that most CD's only have a certain amount of time/space available - everything just couldn't fit - you can imagine I'm sure how difficult it was to choose the music to put on - but knowing the work of Benoit Jutras and the caliber of the musicians on the show then and now, these are some of the most professional, beautiful people - I'm not speaking of physical beauty, I'm speaking of artistic beauty - there is soul in this music, there is a sense of what the show is when you listen. Above all, there is everything from longing to celebration in this music. Cirque du Soleil is about losing yourself in a world of magic and artistry - why overanalyze it? Just enjoy the magic, enjoy the ride, enjoy the Cirque...
The music brought it all back.......2005-10-26
I've seen O twice. There's so much going on that you can't get it all the first time. The music brought each part back. If you've not seen one of these shows, DO IT. They're expensive, but when you get in, it makes sense. Can't wait to see Corteo when it comes this way!
Disappointing.......2005-09-26
True, there were some good memories from the show, but overall this CD didn't stack up to other greats (like Quidam).
Since O is such a visually-based show, I needed to be there again. Plus, I think my favourite 30 minutes of music from the 90 minute show didn't make the 60 minute CD. There was one song from the barge sketch in particular that just knocked my socks off, and I was hoping to find it on the CD, but didn't. Hence my disappointment.
Excellent Soundtrack to a Sublime show........2004-09-06
If you have not seen a cirque du soleil show, treat yourself to one. The ticket price may be unreasonable, but when you see the production and feats of dexterity, strength and skill you'll understand where your money is going. The soundtrack to the show "O" (phonetic for "eau" or water, which is the main theme for this performance) is a diligent sampling of the music you will hear at Bellagio in Las Vegas. I warn the buyers of this CD that the show runs approximately 90 minutes, and the CD is only 60 or so. Therefore if you were expecting extended mixes to match your "O" experience 100%, you will be disappointed. The overall music selection is okay as a stand alone. I'd use it for background music while doing something else. If you've seen the show, this will definetely spark some vivid memories. My personal favorite is about 5 minutes into the 5th track, Remous. (the barge sketch)

How does one encapsulate the mischievous musical conceits of Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo, aka Gene and Dean Ween? Infinitely less self-conscious than the smirky They Might Be Giants, yet possessed of a downright Zappa-esque sense of the perverse, Ween returns here from the problematic, if illusory, mainstreaming that characterized 2000's White Pepper to embrace an artistic tack that seems as focused as an errant cluster bomb. While eclecticism for its own sake has often yielded painful self-indulgence, G&D's is sublime enough to seem virtually pre-conscious. The white-trash thrash of "It's Gonna Be a Long Night" dispenses with the expected parody quotient early on, shrewdly clearing the stage for moody doses of psychedelia that are variously driving ("Transdermal Celebration"), dirgy ("Among His Tribe"), and languorously eerie ("Captain"). But, perhaps conscious of reputations to be maintained, those dreamy, chem-friendly spells are variously broken by the perfect '70s country-pop of "Chocolate Town," the pocket epic "The Argus," and tracks that somehow recall both Captain Beefheart and their own haphazard side-career scoring cartoons and other TV fare. There's something here for everyone, to be sure--but closer to Ween's antic hearts, something to annoy everyone as well. --Jerry McCulley
Customer Reviews:
Boring? Psht........2007-05-02
Ween are back with their first studio album on an indie label in 12 years, and let me start by saying this is probably the most polished indie album I've ever heard. Ween have returned to their sonic explorations and sound effect-flooded form. Only this time, instead of having potentially annoying phasers and pitch affected vocals, they sound nice and add a whole lot of atmosphere. In fact, most of this album revolves around atmosphere.
That being said, I've seen many reviews on this site calling this album boring, and unfunny. However, aside from a few songs here and there, Ween were never really lyrically funny. Most of the humor in Ween's music comes from the grotesque genre parodying, which there is plenty of on Quebec. Now, Ween have always been known for hopping from one genre to another as frequently as each song on an album, and that has not changed. This album starts off with a hard rock song and ends with something that sounds like it came straight from Pink Floyd.
The songs on here are sensational, though, and certainly not boring. You can take each song as an overblown parody, or an incredible display of genius. I personally think of it as both. "If You Could Save Yourself (You'd Save Us All)" sounds so serious that it's funny. Plus, this CD has accomplished what no other Ween album has accomplished (Aside from a few tracks on White Pepper), it's beautiful. Also, this would probably be the most accessible album to anybody who has not heard Ween before, as it has the least amount of songs that could be deemed annoying by anybody. So there you have it, now buy this thing.
Not so Brown........2006-09-10
Quebec from start to finish covers an array of different music styles. The angry yelling pounding chords in Long night start the C.D. off. The C.D. moves along and by the end you're listening to "If You Could Save Yourself You'd Save us All," and feeling your heart wrench at the painfully smooth wailing of the guitar and the vocals.
This C.D. goes from brown to not. "Brown" being ween's term for songs that are pitchy, with weird effects; basically the really bizzare songs.
Ween created a masterpiece again. Hail the Boognish.
A masterpiece.......2006-08-11
Through space at 1.2 light years per hour, Ween's eighth piece of incredible studio work, quebec, is not only their best yet, but one the 2003's greatest releases.
The record is brimming with genuine emotion, beautiful and complex imagery and music, and lyrics that are at once passive and fire-breathing. quebec is like tossing David Bowie, Motorhead, Les Paul and lots of Pink Floyd into a blender and pushing the 'kill' button.
Aaron Freeman's (Gene Ween) unique and beautiful vocals backed by the intricate guitar work of Mickey Melchiondo (Dean Ween), sends an energetic flare clean through your speakers, hurtling into the room around you and charging the air with static electricity. When Freeman sings, "Jets flew in formation / I could see them /
Dropping the crustaceans / Leaving trails of flames in their wake," you believe him.
Ween only seem to get better as time progresses. If they can ever top this record, they'll have established themselves as one of the most outstanding rock bands the world has yet to offer. If not, they still came out of the deal with one album of unadulterated genius. Time will tell.
Simultaneously Dark and Delightful.......2006-08-05
Ween's mastery of a variety of musical genres and broad use of humor are renowned, and should be points of note for the new listener. quebec highlights both of these Ween trademarks, while demonstrating their continually masterful songwriting, and experimentation with timbre and mood. Ween's music is not so much for the casual listener, though they do have tunes that can double as background music as well as music for the intent ear, but a music fan with a desire for fresh sound and a delight in surprises (a taste for humor and playful irony is also helpful) will no doubt find a happy home between quebec's open and close.
quebec is full of brilliant songwriting and ingenious use of tone, besides humor. "The Argus," "Happy Colored Marbles," and "Among His Tribe" especially showcase their skill, ranging from tunes that sound epic, suspensful, and ominous to near tear-jerkers.
quebec is a must have for Ween fans, and a must try for anyone else who has a curious ear. When you put this album in for the first time, be willing to experiment, to laugh, and to LISTEN beyond the funny sound effects to the real genius at the heart of this band.
Ding Dong.......2006-07-26
For over three months now I've had to endure Brainless from New Jersey's nauseating "Review of Each Song" on this magnificent album and dude, I just can't let you be the first thing unsuspecting online punters bump into any longer so here's my own hastily assembled five-star review, which I'm hoping will be approved and posted instamatically: Quebec is quite simply and without question a large French-speaking province in Eastern Canada. Well, my work here is done.

Album Description
Ike Quebec's 1961-1962 comeback albums for Blue Note were all pretty rewarding, but Blue and Sentimental is his signature statement of the bunch, a superbly sensuous blend of lusty blues swagger and achingly romantic ballads. True, there's no shortage of that on Quebec's other Blue Note albums, but Blue and Sentimental is the best one by far. Quebec was a master of mood and atmosphere, and the well-paced program here sustains his smoky, late-night magic with the greatest consistency of tone. Part of the reason is that Quebec's caressing tenor sound is given a sparer backing than usual, with no pianist among the quartet of guitarist Grant Green, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Philly Joe Jones. It's no surprise that Green solos with tremendous taste and elegance (the two also teamed up on Green's similarly excellent Born to Be Blue), and there are plenty of open spaces in the ensemble for Quebec to shine through. His rendition of the Count Basie-associated title cut is a classic, and the other standard on the original LP, "Don't Take Your Love From Me," is in a similarly melancholy vein. Through it all, Quebec remains the quintessential seducer, striking just the right balance between sophistication and earthiness, confidence and vulnerability, joy and longing. It's enough to make Blue and Sentimental a quiet, sorely underrated masterpiece.
Personnel includes:
Ike Quebec - Piano, Sax (Tenor)
Grant Green - Guitar
Paul Chambers - Bass
"Philly" Joe Jones - Drums
Customer Reviews:
Breathtaking album.......2006-05-11
This album is simply beatifull. Iqe Quebec's (tenor) tone is irremarkable. Iqe and Grant Green (guitar) colaborate so smoothly on this album, and the rytham section of Philly Joe Jones (drums) and Paul Chambers (bass) is just right for this session. The album's title does kind of say it all and I must warn you fast paced music lovers, this album is slow, blue, and sentimental. So if speed is what you need you ain't gonna get it here. The first three tracks are simply the law, they make this album what it is. Don't get me wrong the whole album is terrific, but the first three tracks set the pace for the rest of the album. Track 8 was recorded a week after the rest of the album and there are different musicians present. Quebec and Green are the same, but Sonny Clark plays piano, Sam Jones plays bass, and Louis Hayes plays drums. A great album to listen to first thing in the morning, or last thing after a good night of roaming the streets. Play it loud!!!
Great Rainy Day Music.......2006-03-17
This is a sweet CD. Listen to the tracks on-line and see if it's your thing.
blue and sentimental.......2004-10-09
the title song says it all. this CD is great jazz and anyone can enjoy it from the conneseour to the casual jazz fan. ike quebec never got his due, but he knows how to blow.
Tremendous music, but..........2001-04-22
The music here is as affecting as suggested by the other reviewers, but the sound quality, specifically the digital transfer, is poor, in my opinion to the point of being unlistenable. The highs are very harsh and metallic, and Ike Quebec's mellifluous tone is not done justice. There were a number of blue note transfers in the mid eighties that suffered in this regard: many of these are thankfully available remastered in the RVG edition, as is this, albeit as a Japanese import.
A Handfull of Heartbreak.......2001-01-27
As sweet and lovely a balladeer as Willis Jackson, Ben Webster, or Coleman Hawkins, among others, Ike Quebec is not well known and that is a grave injustice to his memory. But to hear Ike Quebec play a ballad is to experience something almost beyond description. If you could hear honey running down a hot ceramic plate in July, that would be the sound of Ike Quebec. For years I searched for more albums by Quebec only to learn that his meager output was due to the fact that he died in 1963. Any of Quebec's ballad-play will break your heart or, if you are one of the hardhearted, at least bring tears to your eyes. Buy this album and his "It Might As Well Be Spring" for starters and then experience the frustration of finding that he made only a handfull of albums as a lead artist before he died. If the music doesn't break your heart, the knowledge that there was so little of it will. Just turn down the lights, close your eyes, and listen.

Fantastic Album...A Great Surprise!!.......2005-04-16
Okay, I actually bought this album from Amazon at the suggestion of a blogger and I have to say this album is a fantastic surprise! It's just shocking...I was a bit skeptical about someone singing soul music in French, but this was a nice surprise. I've yet to put it down. It's such a great album!
Parlez-Vous Francaise?...........2005-04-01
...if not don't worry because not speaking french doesn't make this any less of a wonderful experience. Corneille's spirit comes through on every song. The music creates a vibe that is undeniable and will have you humming along within seconds of the opening bar. So my advice is ignore the possible language barrier and follow the groove. (if you really wanna know what he is singin' about buy a french/eng. dictionary because the lyrics are great)
Simply amazing!.......2005-03-07
On a study abroad trip to france, I picked this cd up and (since then) have not put it down. Corneille has the voice of silk and his lyrics are a mix of complexity and beauty; you find yourself feeling Corneille's emotion and sadness on "seul au monde" and feeling like you want to go out and test your own pick up lines on "avec classe". Corneille has all the soul of american counterparts like Case, Glenn Lewis, and other r&B crooners, except fo the fact that his lyrics are original and are, of course, in french. But the jewel of this album has to be "comme un fils"...Its simply beautiful and was THE song that got the most play on French radio last year. Believe me, unlike other cd's, every song on this cd is great and you will find yourself skipping nothing. You simply HAVE to get this CD!
The Best rnb album since Born to do it.......2005-02-23
Corneille is simply put, the best thing to happen to French hip hop since MC Solaar 15 years ago. His lyrics are fresh and smart, smooth and powerful as he sings about love and innoccence, as well as the Rwandan genocide which took away his family and childhood friends. The result is a fantastic album of various musical origins, just like the singer: African, Canadian and French. He can go from picking up a girl on the street (Avec Classe) to sing about Rwanda( Parce qu'on vient de loin) Racism (Toi), celebrity (reves de star). The album's best being Ensemble a fantastic song. Corneille is mature above his age, and the result is a heartbreaking, smooth and sometimes jubilant rnb album that proves that somewhere there is hope for French Hip hop and soul music, if kids issued of immigration embrace their routes and integrate them in contemporary music!! Vive Corneille
fantastic album.......2005-02-16
Every song on the album is brilliant. I have to concur with one of the reviewer, when he sings about live every day as if its your last, you sit up and listen. His music really grabs you. A must buy.

Garou in Chains?.......2006-02-02
My predecessor made a very pertinent remark. Garou is an exact opposite of Ms Dion. He started his career in Quebec barrrooms as a soul/R'n'B singer and his covers of the classics (like Wilson Pickett's "Mustang Sally" or "In the Midnight Hour") are really stunning. And even the standard, "Celine-like" pop songs of this collection, he gives them - thanks to his unique voice and passionate delivery - a new quality. He is decidedly better then most of his material (my favourite being "Adieu" - his interpretation makes me think of Jacques Brel). I consider him a great singer, one of the best I ever heard and it's a pity he associated himself with Ms Dion/Mr Angelil. The reason fot it is very simple - they promised him an international career. But his second - anglophone - album enregistered in 2002 and announced several times was never released and it looks like he made all those concessions for nothing.
And for better, more sincere, Garou one should turn to live "Seul avec Garou" and his second francopohone album "Reviens".
A romantic trouble-maker and rule-breaker.......2006-02-02
Garou strikes me as a good-natured rougue. For those tho don't speak French, Garou means "warewolf". He sings about racy issues like gambling and pedophilia, but he manages to put a spin of innocent fascination on all his work. I believe that in real life he the same as he is on stage. The only thing that makes me uncertain of his sincerity is his affiliation with Celine Dion. She is notorious for singing "commercial" songs that do not come from the heart.
Great French-Canadian Singer!!.......2005-06-22
I first heard this man sing, about four years ago, on a world music award program. It took me two years to find who it was, and sang the song "Seul". And I am so glad that I kept looking!
Garou has a truely unique voice; very powerful, manly and a little rough. Even if you don't know French you will enjoy the feeling he puts into singing, and once you know the lyrics it will be that much better.
If you really want a treat watch his live concerts, either the last tour on DVD, "Garou live a Bercy". Or his just finished tour on "Routes".
I love all his work and highly recommend all three albums!
This is a great album!!.......2003-06-30
When I studied in France in 2001, Garou was huge (maybe still is?) and you heard his music everywhere. Now everytime I listen to this album, it brings back fond memories. I love almost every song on this album (not too fond of Criminel and Gambler though). You'll love this album too if you're into pop ballads like those of Celine Dion. The lyrics are so beautiful, but even if you don't speak French, the music alone is worth buying the album. Garou has a very unique, sexy voice (and image :-)) and I would say that this album is definitely worth your money.
just another review.......2003-04-08
Garou is an extremely talented singer! It was his role in Notre Dame, which is brilliant by the way, that led me to listen to Seul. His voice is low and gravelly but it's beautiful and pure masculinity in my opinion. Perhaps some of the songs on the album are a bit too "pop-ish" but give the man a break - it's his first album and I think he did a great job with it. Anyway, the songs aren't as important as the way he sings them - with a lot of passion and heart! I'm enjoying it :)

Great CD to recapture what is Cirque du Soleil.......2007-07-18
My family and I saw this show in Orlando and were speechless. Not only was the show visually magnificent, but the music was top shelf. I've never seen or heard any Cirque du Soleil programs before - but highly recommend this. It's odd and eccentric, but also moving and captivating. If you've seen La Nouba, you will travel back to it through your memories while listening to this CD.
Excellent.......2006-02-10
If you like Cirque Du Soleil music you will like this, Especially since the La Nouba show is one of the best out there.
AMAZING!!!!!!!.......2005-12-12
I went and saw La Nouba in Orlando it was so cool. I love the music and it's fun to dance around the room too. It's really unique and interesting. It's not like anything i've ever heard before. I think it's a gift for anyone.

Live from Gatineau, Quebec.......2007-04-04
This product is a wonderful example of the talent, efficiency, and audience pleasing abilities of the Leahy group. I and my family enjoyed and appreciated the performance with unbounded joy. We watch it again and again and share it with many relatives and friends.
Leahy dvd.......2007-01-27
If you like Leahy this is the best work they have done. The Bonus tracks are outstanding.
A great perfromance DVD from the one and only Leahy.......2007-01-04
I've seen this great group many timnes live, and this DVD does an excellent job of capuring the excitment of their live performance. The addition of the groups videos, not normally seen in the US was a welcome surprise.
Fun and delightful!.......2006-11-06
I looked forward to this release for weeks and went hunting for it the day after it was out. I live in a town of nearly 2,000,000 people and I got the only copy of both the CD and DVD in town. All I have to say is that the rest of this city is missing out.
What a delight! A great mix of favourites and new numbers. The quality of the performance does not suffer from being a live recording, and the music keeps me happy and calm through all the pressures of the work day and commuter traffic. And, ultimately, I can't ask for more than that.

I immediately wanted to buy this CD after watching Quidam. It refresh my memory every time I listen to its music!
Worth buying!
An eclectic and esoteric mix!.......2006-08-08
Quidam's music can best be described as both an eclectic and esoteric mix. It would be very difficult to categorize the music on this CD into any one genre. From the rocking Zydeko to the beautiful song Seisouso, to the eastern European sounding Rivage, this CD will have something for everyone. And it is a must have for anyone who has seen Quidam.
It's all about the music.......2006-03-10
Cirque Du Soleil (Quidam) wouldn't be such a hit without it's soundtrack. You can recapture the experience of the dark but lively mood through the tracks on this CD. Definately a collectible.

Great Mozart Recording and Great Patriotic Tribute.......2004-06-13
Of the three recordings I know of the Levin completion of Mozart's Requiem (the others being MacKerras and Pearlman) this particular one has to be the most convincing to me.
It is understated but still appropriately weighty. A live recording commemorating the World Trade Center/Pentagon disaster of September 11th, 2001, Labadie's rendition really does pack an emotional punch than most recordings currently on market.
Unlike the Pearlman recording, this present one is done on modern instruments although the dynamic featured Violons du Roy play in period style-- crisp, pure, without vibrato. It really makes this one unique. For example, listen to the fugue, "Quam olim Abrahe" as the violins place that stacatto on the first and third beats of their baroque-inspired ostinatos. It is not often that a recording of Mozart's Death Mass sound as new and fresh as this.
The soloists are likewise excellent.
The Levin completion is second my favorite (my absolute favorite being the Duncan Druce reworking). Druce's changes might be over-the-top for many listeners, but to most, Levin's is the closest to perfection as one can get. While I like Druce's completion of the Benedictus far more (it sounds like real Mozart!), Levin's is just fine. His "Amen" fugue is also the most satisfying.
I would reccommend both this recording and the one under the baton of MacKerras. The Pearlman might sound to light and airy for many (the ending to the Kyrie is far to fast.) I would also urge you to listen to the only recording of the Druce version under Roger Norrington on the Virgin Verital label, although the tempi could use slowing in some parts, it is still a very engaging listen.
The 911 Requiem.......2003-12-18
This Mozart Requiem revised and completed by Robert D. Levin was performed just a week after the 911 WTC attack in NYC. The feelings you get while listening to this live recording is unreal as image of the attack flash back at you. I have played this recording over and over ever since it came out.
The music is wonderful recorded; with the support of the HDCD the sound dynamic is great. The revise version shows the possible ending that Mozart was heading during his writing of this master piece, Levin have used the material from Mozart's masses as a reference during his rescoring. With the help of authentic musical instruments, I believe this is the only recording that can compete with the long famous recording done by Christopher Hogwood.
