"Buffalo Tales" tells a story - from the beginning to the end - songs about truth, seasons, relationships, love, open spaces, and slower times. To listen closely to Bunny's own Lakota-inflective Folk genre you may hear the sound of a soaring heart, a growing tree, or the wind dancing around it. "O Great Spirit" an ancient Lakota prayer put to music circles the end of this album full of earth honoring sounds punctuated by Lakota "love" flute made by an elder still living on the Pine Ridge reservation. Here are the sounds of Mother Earth to bring you back to nature and the HEART of the Black Hills where Bunny lives as the wide open sage covered prairies still live with buffalo, and in song she creates a place you will want to return again and again in music that resonates from this sacred land. A truly original sound - Buffalo Tales showcases Bunny's beautifully recognizable voice and acoustic live performance style. To the indiginous Lakota (Sioux) the buffalo represented abundant peace and harmony in all aspects of life - their whole world. Yet their dreams and prophecys foretold a time of world trouble would come before true "buffalo" abundance would again cover the earth.

Dr. Israel builds a heady, spacious, and diverse world out of elements of old school blunted dub, jungle, trip-hop, and fragmented noise. Very different from the more song-oriented follow-up, Inna City Pressure, this record is far less focused and hooky but probably better for the brain.
