Album Description

11 Jungle Walk is music from the other side of the tracks. It was a big inspiration in my upbringing. 11 Jungle Walk is also where I grew up with my family. Its located in Langa Township, Capetown, South Africa. Jungle Walk was the street used by everybody, coming into or leaving the township throughout the year; some bringing in fresh spirit and cheer while others were leaving feeling tired and beat. There were always migrant labourers and others coming in from the countryside. People walking past often danced, played music and sang, expressing great love and joy as a natural part of their life. It was wonderful to watch and a great inspiration. I began performing at the age of 15 in a group called The Locked Birds, playing door-to-door in the townships. Performing music opened up a whole new world. The tracks on this CD portray the musical journey that has brought me to where I am today. I wish to dedicate this music to everyone that Ive met along the way, and also to those I shared music with, in one way or another.

Hey, if you you like reggae music, you'll love Jungle Walk. A Jamaican beat with a South Pacific twist. Just listening to this CD brings me back to them long summer nights back on the islands (Palau) just kickin' it with friends.
