About the Artist
Randy Gloss, a percussionist whose background performing several modalities of hand drums, contemporary percussion, and drum set has lead to his involvement in many innovative ensembles that fuse world music with new music and jazz. Most notable is the Hands On'Semble, a percussion quartet devoted to the art of hand drumming led by renowned percussionist/composer John Bergamo. In addition Randy has recorded with Swappan Chaudhuri, Glen Velez,Jovino Santos Neto, Jamey Haddad, Mark Nauseef, Chitravina Ravikiran, and many more.....You can hear Randy on film sountracks by composer Danny Elfman and Gary Chang. Randy teaches at the California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts).

This CD was created as a rhythmic accompaniment to the therapeutic exercise program "Focus on Healing through Movmement and Dance for the Breast Cancer Survivor". The core of each piece is a dance class style percussion accompaniment outlining the counts set by Sherry Lebed Davis with respect to tempo, form and duration for the therapeutic exercise program. The CD is to accompany the book "Thriving After Breast Cancer", "Essential exercises for body and mind", by Sherry Lebed Davis, however, after its' publication many purchase this wonderful CD to listen to it, relax, and enjoy the wonderful percussion titles. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of this CD will go to "Focus on Healing" Non Profit Organization to benefit Breast Cancer Survivors.
