Album Description

Habana Secreta, originally released in 1996, features music composed by Jose Maria Vitar. Long considered one of the greatest Latin music composers, Vitier wrote the soundtracks for the films Strawberry and Chocolate and El Siglo de las Luces. Additional musicians featured on Habana Secreta include Tata Guines and Miguel Anga on percussion, and vocalists Silvio Rodriguez and Miriam Ramos.

The music of this CD will transport you, like it did to me, to a wonderful world in which the Spanish roots of the Cuban music meet it's African counterparts. Jose Maria Vitier brings together a unique group of seasoned and well recognized musicians as Miguel Anga, Tata Guines, Lazaro Gonzalez, Sylvio Rodriguez, Sergio Vitier, and Miriam Ramos. The voice of Miriam Ramos resembles a sweet, melodic murmur in the song "Cine de Barrio". I enjoyed the Sound track of "Straberry and Chocolate" but I really loved Habana Secreta. A Must Listen CD!
