Okay for the money........2005-10-19

I suppose I expected something a little more uplifting than the music on this cd, so if you are looking for tangos that are not only good for dancing but good for listening, you may want to keep looking. I am a dance instructor, so I find it does come in handy when I need to practice or warm-up on my own, but trying to have a student practice a new or complicated move to the mid-tempo is a bit challenging. They do not provide for much variety, the songs, and all kind of run together, which does lend a hand in not being distracted when concentrating on dance. All in all, not spectacular, but does the job.

My 6-13-07 update: "20 Beautiful Tangos" is EXCELLENT, with Full Orchestra, and is one of my favorite Tango music CD's. The music itself is actually 5 stars of 5. But the track name listings are wrong. (Poor QA and QC.)
Here are my recommended name corrections:

#1 should be 1 El Poeta. "1 Tango Verano" is wrong, and Tango Verano is no where on this CD.
#2 should be 2 Senor Gonzales. "2 El Poeta" is wrong, and is #1.
#3 should be 3 Tango Albeniz. "3 Senor Gonzales" is wrong, and is #2.
#4 should be 4 La Passionara. "4 Tango Albeniz" is wrong, and is #3.
#5 should be 5 La Cumparsita. "5 La Passionara" is wrong, and is #4.
#6 should be 6 Blue Tango. "6 La Cumparsita" is wrong, and is #5.
#7 should be 7 La Paloma. "7 Blue Tango" is wrong, and is #6.
#8 should be 8 Tango Del Amor. "8 La Paloma" is wrong, and is #7.
#9 should be 9 Morenita. "9 Tango Del Amor" is wrong, and is #8.
#10 should be 10 Puerto Grande. (Also same as #18.) "10 Morenita" is wrong, and is #9.
#11 should be 11 El Primero Besso. "11 Puerto Grande" is wrong, and is #10.
#12 should be 12 El Toreador. "12 El Primero Besso" is wrong, and is #11.
#13 should be 13 El Choclo. "13 El Toreador" is wrong, and is #12.
#14 should be 14 Valentino Tango. "14 El Choclo" is wrong, and is #13.
#15 might be 15 La Castilla Romantica. (Can not compare on Internet). "15 Valentino Tango" is wrong, and is #14.
#16 should be 16 El Calor Del Sol. "16 La Castilla Romantica" is wrong, and might be #15.
#17 should be 17 Adios Muchachos. (Might aka be 17 En El Casino, but can not compare on Internet). "17 El Calor Del Sol" is wrong, and is #16.
#18 should be 18 Puerto Grande. (Also same as #10.) "18 En El Casino" is wrong, and could be #17.
#19 original CD name "19 A Media Luz" is correct.
#20 original CD name "20 Hernando's Hideaway" is correct.

The website music samples should tally with the music titles.
Wrong tally makes for difficulty in hunting for the tune that I want.
