5 out of 5 stars A Great CD in a Great Series............2003-08-19

This is a GREAT series of CDs. This one is a little different from the earlier volumes. It is 1967 and the times definately are a-changin'. Though the frothy pop and the gorgeous slow-dance numbers from previous volumes are still here, there is evidence of psychedelia creeping in. DIK DIK's "Senza Luce" is in fact an Italian version of "A Whiter Shade Of Pale", Primitives' "Yeeeah!" is the old Rascals chestnut "I Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore", Milva's "Little Man" is a Continental version of the Sonny & Cher tune...you get the drift. The wackiest track would have to be Equipe 84's "29 Settembre" and Wilma Goch's beautiful ballad "Se Stasera Sono Qui" will stay in your head forever, reminiscent of Francesca - the sexy lounge singer in "Ghost Ship". Rocky Roberts is here also with his local hit "Stasera Mi Butto" but no, don't get your hopes up, it's NOT an Italian version of "The Bird's The Word"....I wish it was! All in all, GREAT FUN. If you are a baby boomer of Italian descent, you'll wonder how you ever got by without this disc. If (like me)you're not Italian, you'll wish you were. It'll take a couple of plays to get used to it but you wont be sorry when you do. BUY IT!
