Album Description

This signature effort released in 1996 contains traditional and contemporary arrangements of gentle folk lyrics and native percussion. Rose brought together native flautists, rock and roll guitarists and expert keyboardists to create a unique perspective on contemporary native folk. Considering this effort Cherokee Rose says: " I wanted to create a CD that encompassed my vision of blending traditional and contemporary elements together in a unique style. The temptation with traditional instrumentation is to focus on the drum and the flute, but I wanted to go one step further and truly try to incorporate those elements into more contemporary folk arrangements, the result was To All The Wild Horses."

The title cut gained regional radio play along with favorites "Baby of The Sky" and "Cherokee". "I Will Be" was selected by the Milwaukee Public Schools to be incorporated into their centennial celebration theater production of "Spoon River", an american anthology of music and poetry. This cut was also selected as the promotional music for the video of "Electric Pow-Wow", a national theater production showcasing native artists.
