The Island Boys were long time favorites of the tourists to the islands, playing at various hotels and special functions in the Bahamas. While they have sperated creatively, the band continues on with new member, playing at the new Holiday Inn on Paradise Island.

I am the biggest fan of Bahamas music. I have purchased several cassettes/cds on my trips. The Island Boys Calypso Jams was enjoyable because of the familiar classic calypso tunes such as Yellow Bird, Day O, Shame and Scandal, and others....brought back memories of my earlier trips to the Bahamas. I thought the quality was good. I enjoyed it so much that I bought their next cd as well.

The recording quality is poor. The music on this CD is classic Bahamian music, however, their performance as well as the quality of the recording is not a very good example of many of the many gifted Bahamian artists who, unfortunately, remain unrecorded. Mary Ann Hayes for Bob Slaughter
