Los Principes del Merengue was the first Merengue and Salsa band in the city of San Diego. Circa 1990, Julio Martinez and a group of other young and motivated musicians started this project and their success was practically instantaneous. persal reason separated Julio Martinez from the music business for a number of years but the year 2000 was the sign of better things to come.....

Venues where Los Principes have played include, Club Ibiza, in the city of Whittier and Rumba Room in Universal Studios, one of the most talked about Salsa and Merengue Night Clubs in all of Los Angeles. As of today Los Principes del Merengue are the home band of the Miramar Club, Escenario Cantabar and Rodeo Santa Fe, and play on regular basis at J.C. Fandango, the Rumba Room an all throughtout Southern Califronia.

ive seen the principes del merengue live at the rumba room at Universal City Walk in Hollywood and that was a real good show and the music was great my favorite song was "me tiene loco" they will be at the Great Western Forum with Elvis Crespo on 10/15/2001 dont miss it.
