Editorial Reviews
Born in Peru in 1972, Sergio played in some bands with his brothers during the 80's and then moved to Costa Rica to study music performance. In the 90's, he played in San Jose (CR), with several rock, fusion and punk bands (with his brother Gino) and his performing experience included playing as a guest drummer with the Costa Rica National Symphony Orchestra.
While he was living in London (1999) and playing with pop/folk band Cuzco, he met Nick Boon, who is the drummer of MOWER a very-soon-to-be-popular band from England.
Nick agreed to sing (both in Spanish and English) in Sergio's record and the result was Gaijin Toroku and the birth of eRRatic Music (founded by Sergio's brother in the US).
The whole idea of his music is the collaboration of foreign sounds and styles.
We really don't know where his eRRatic spirit will lead him to for his next venture...

Very intriguing!.......2001-09-06
On the other hand if your palate is a little more refined you will definitely appreciate this spicy sweet & sour mix.
I actually listened to this album almost by mistake, and was puzzled to see that it is now on web sites.
A cosmopolitan taste is sure evident in Gaiigin Toroku, but what would you expect from a Peruvian artist, an English singer singing in Spanish - does he knows what he's saying?- and a Japanese title???
I've seen Sergio Montoya playing live in Seattle: when he plays he is completely lost in the music, you can tell how much he enjoys it and that's probably what makes him an excellent musician.
I'd definetely advise you to listen to this album.
There's something wonderfully wrong with this guy..........2001-09-01
It's been a while since I've been blown away by a musical work - considering what's currently out there - but this did it.
It's comforting to find that original music can still be made (the last time this happened to me was when I listened to Mike Patton's Fantomas)
I'm sooo glad I bought this CD, it'll remain in my CD player for a while.
