5 out of 5 stars Trance Planet Creates A Love For World Music!.......2003-06-01

My roommate actually bought one of these CD's (Vol 1) by mistake and gave it to me. I was hooked and have bought the entire Trance Planet and Planet Chant Series! Of all of them, Volume 4 is my favorite simply because of the mainly ocus on Middle Eastern sound. I particularly enjoyed Track 6, Steve Shehan and Baly Othmani's "Tare (Awalin Almad Saras)" Which features traditional songs of the Kel Ewy Tuareg peoples. Simply haunting and a fantastic all around sampler- series for anyone who appreciates world music.

4 out of 5 stars Actually, this is the same recording as Trance Planet 3!.......2003-04-03

I don't know why the repackaging, but it seems to be exactly the same as Trance Planet 3, so if you have that one, don't be fooled by the new cover or numbering.

5 out of 5 stars world trance, yes..........2002-12-04

This is not trance in the 'club sense', but a world trance album comprised of near/middle eastern musicians that has delighted my massage clients many times. A fave in the 'chill-time' section of the collection.

1 out of 5 stars NOT Trance!.......2001-06-17

This album contains a series of "ethnic" music with "new age" overtones. Beautiful music for peace and relaxation, but I won't classify this as trance. I was disappointed with the content as it did not give me psychedelia I've wanted.

4 out of 5 stars Fly Away.......2000-04-16

I first heard this CD in a funky space bar in Fussa, Japan. Since then it has taken me away to many wierd places. Mostly mellow, yet mysterious "traveling" music... Foreign languages, outstanding vocals - little or no synth. Worth your money.

5 out of 5 stars And they have done it again . . ........1998-08-07

It is always difficult to keep a good idea going, but Triloka seems to have done it again. I can hardly wait to scream and dream across the dirt roads of the Great Basins and Ranges on a full moon with this playing and the gravel crunching and clicking. It has that Mid-East/Indian flavor that has it's own kind of trances: the trances of the arid lands - hot or cold, it is still arid -- and that seems to give rise to a certain kind of dream music. If you like the other Trance Planets, you will like this one as well - it is the same kind of "fusion" as the others, and of course, if you love the others you won't be disappointed here - the sample cuts on Amazon do give you a good idea of the album so, listen and then dream . . . .
