I saw this CD set in a store and told my friend I would like to have it for my birthday. She bought it on the spot for me. I am so glad she did. I really wasn't a classical music fan, but I am now. I listen to this CD set while I am driving home from my job as a broadcaster. It does help you to relax. I even wrap Christmas presents to the music. I would also like to make the suggestion of finding an open field where there are lighting bugs and play this CD while watching the lighting bugs. It is better than a fireworks show. If you are into classical music this is a CD that you must have.

My girls saw him at a festival (4 year olds) and LOVED him. We purchased the DVD and CDs. We also met him personally and he is terrific. He should be on Noggin and other children channels!

Fun for everyone!.......2003-05-13

Before Roger Day's children's music career really took off, he wrote contemporary songs and toured the college circuit. It was here I first heard him and fell in love with his music. This CD is full of fun catchy tunes that children and adults will enjoy. I've been to many of his children's concerts and its amazing how the kdis know all the words to his songs; how they stand up and dance and sing along! For the moms and dads who like Roger's lucid voice and easy going song writing style, check out his earlier contemporary cd's from his website.

Overlooked debut but for all the right reasons.......2006-09-27

There were a lot of great albums to come out of the west coast in 1995, whether it was independent or on a major label. The great ones obviously made noise through word of mouth. Rappin Ron (R.I.P.) and Ant Diddley Dog's "Bad N-Fluenz" was one of those records that were slept on. This album is nothing more than hard flows and slammin' beats that get monotonous for 13 tracks. The production sounds just like the mid 90's Ant Banks Oakland funk style on Too $hort's "Cocktales", which came out around the same time. Rappin Ron and Ant Diddley Dog were impressive as guest artists but for their own album, its' kind of dissappointing. They don't have any clever subject matter that would make them stand out as artists. Every song is just a mission to show how hard they spit freestyle type of lyrics, a la Canibus. There is nothing significant about this album for it to be remembered or talked about as an underrated gem from the Bay Area.

Highlights: All Rapped Up, Buster Free, You Ain't Heard, Dirty Work, Smoke Season, Torcher Chamber.

Oakland's Finest.......2005-07-25

This arguably the best rap group to come out of the Bay Area -- better than The Luniz, better than the Delinquents, better than 3xKrazy. As hot as this album is, it doesn't even reveal how good Rappin' Ron and Ant Didley were. Their best spit is on every body else's album.

All the turfs in the "O".......2005-07-01

I have two comments on this phenomenon called The Bad N Fluenz Click: HELLA. TIGHT. What I want to really know, is where is that demo tape that they put out with "All the turfs in the O"?, where Rappin Ron just enunciates and articulates all of the flatlands in the Town so succinctly and in depth... The North, The East and The West... I mean I heard this from my Potna from 73rd and Holly or was it 73rd and Weld. I don't know how he got a hold of it, but I remember hearing that track and another one where Ron came sick again. I had never heard someone flow so tight, and for so long and talk about such intricate things in such detail. Last but not least there was a freestyle battle between the Luniz and Bad N Fluenz, where Rappin Ron just annihilated them. Was that recorded? or is it a case of: if you weren't there, then you missed one of the greatest freestyle battles of all time in the Town. Not to hate on Yukmouth, because I admire his lyrical content and delivery which is tight, but like Richie Rich, Rappin Ron was a phenomenal Freestyler....like they will freestyle, many times better than their written material...I mean convincingly tight... that makes you think, "how in the world did he think, on the drop of a hat, to say something like that?"...now that is talent and that is a real M.C., whether your from Bronx Brooklyn New York or East, North, or West Oakland.

Classic representing westcoast to the fullest.......2005-06-16

This is an untouchable and a slept on release which is sad, because a lot of people are feeding a bunch of fa@@ots and not seeing the real talent is here and it gets ignored. I loved this album so much and think its much better than any of too short, ant banks, goldy, spice 1, fu@k it! mostly whole of the bay areas s#it for 95 and onwards too. The production is tight and most of all the flowing and lyrics are fu@king hectic and a lot of the people here know that cos they were smart enought to have the s#it in the first place. One guy here even knows them, daaamn, don't suppose you could get me their second album could you? lol, i been looking everywhere and i know it was held back, i think it was because sadly in 96 Rappin' Ron died. Its a real shame cos he was some real talent and they would be doing big things now, but thats life!, and we all know how it goes unexpectedly!. Anyway, if anyone wants the real not just bay area, but westcoast flavour how it should be, get this str8 away. Its a shame that amazon is making people pay 150 fu@kin dollaz for this cd, people will get turned off but shouldn't, they should press more of these albums and circulate them again so more people can hear that this is what level these 2 were on back in 95. I bet most of the money from the $149.99 spent on this won't even go to ant dog either, fu@king leaches these people are. But if you got the money or you are a rich mothafu@ka buy it! Their Second-Best Album.......2003-09-30

First stop for anyone wanting to experience one of the greatest power-pop-influenced bands of the '90s is Teenage Symphonies to God (now out of print). The debut album, In the Presence of Greatness, is also very enjoyable. This reissue boasts different cover art and better sound than the original, and also some singles-only covers of Modern Lovers and spiritual brothers Teenage Fanclub. Get this while it's still available.

omfg i picked up this album not even knowing or having heard them before just cause i had 8 bucks and i needed something to listen too. i was pleasently surprised with this album its very cool its loud blaring and how punk should sound like (wtf were you thinking jacob they dont look emo you nasty skank)

Coming out of New York the way only a true band should...With no money and nothing but dreams. Ian's vocals are crushing, but Ethan's guitar takes this music to an incredible level. Have to be biased on this review, cause i've heard them live, and I've been following their music for the past three years. This CD was well worth the wait, and now, we can only hope for more.

Lights...camera...SOME ACTION!!!.......2004-07-15

Raw, dirty, absolutely crashing sound. A sweet cross-section of
the early Dickies mixed with the garagey chaos of Halo of Flies,
all thrown together with a buzzsaw guitar reminiscent of late 70's Buzzcocks/999. Vocalist Ian Magee has that wailing Jaggeresque howl...you've heard it before, yet quite swaggeringly original. Way cooler than those other NYC garage
punk "saviors" the Jokes...I mean, the Strokes. As unpolished
as your pair of Buster Browns' you used to run through puddles

with in 2nd grade. Finally, it's great to be from NYC again.

Still Worth It.......2001-07-14

I liked Sniff 'n The Tears' first CD so much, I thought I'd take a chance on another. This is one is still good, but not quite as good as the first one. I would still recommend it to Sniff fans, but if you were luke warm about "Driver Seat", you probably won't want to purchase anything else from this band.

Sweet and simple.......1998-06-27

When we humans talk about who we consider to be our ideal partner, the appearance of that fantasy "other" is often formed by an image we see somewhere. A famous person. We see that image and it's like being hit by a freight train.

Such was my infatuation with the girl on the cover of "Love/Action". I used to stare at the cover at the record store for what seemed like hours. Sure I was like 14 at the time, but that didn't matter. I even had a blind date once with a girl who turned out to be a dead-ringer for that girl in every way. I could have married her on the spot. Instead, I never saw her again. And my life has been a continuous disaster ever since. I think it's my guardian angel's way of hitting me over the head and shouting "You idiot!"

The album is much more listenable all the way through than "The Game's Up" was. While there are no standout songs that grab you and leave a lasting impression, there aren't any that make you cringe either. Just a laid back "enjoying the day" kind of feel. And there's nothing wrong with that at all.
