The son montuno, "Quiereme" composed by Ramon Rodriquez of Conjunto Clasico Fame and arranged by Alberto Sanchez, an accomplished saxophonist is reminiscent of the classic sones popularized by Arensio Rodriquez. "Mi Debilidad, composed by Ismael Quintna of Eddie Palmieri fame is as enthralling as the original and yet with its own sensuality. An additional touch of genuis is reflected in the modernizing of the Peruvian valse. "Quiero Que Estes Conmigo". Other salsa standards, such as a medley of Willie Colon's "La Murga/Juana Pena" and Andy Harlow's "Que Mulata, are treated with energy-building force. I spent the summer abroad and this brings back all of the crazy nights I had on the coast of Spain in Almunecar. It was a blast, if you like upbeat latin pop then you'll have a blast dancing to this Cd. !

This Cd set brings back all the wonderful memories and friendships I made during my summer abroad in Spain. I can't ever get tired of listening to all the songs on this CD. Every time I listen to a song I am transported to the Irish Rover, Garamond, and all the other clubs in the University town area.

If you were in Spain in 2001, I also recommend purchasing the GRAN HERMANO 2001 CD. Come on, You know you watched the tv show in Spain after supper, Just admit it!

This cd is an absolute must-have for anyone who was in Spain the summer of 2001, just listening to it transports me back to my beautiful Spain. I put it on, close my eyes, and I am once again in the discotecas dancing the night away until dawn or sitting in the sun with my friends and basically having the time of my life. ...

If you went to Spain this summer you need to own a copy of El Verano Ya Llego. It brings back all of my memories from my time at the beaches and discotecas in Valencia and Barcelona. By far the bests songs on the CD are: "El verano ya llego" (Megalo), "Yo Quiero Bailar" (Sonia y Selena, "Decile que lo Quiero" y "En la Casa de Ines"....ah memories, such fond memories....la Fiesta de San Juan, El Bario Carmen....Denia...Ruzafa...I miss it. I'm going to go listen to my cd now....

If you haven't been in Spain this summer I probably wouldn't recommend this CD to you because in all honesty, it is just bouncy Europop. However if you have been in Spain, then this CD is a must-have. Memories of all the Spanish 'discotecas' will come flooding back. 'Yo quiero bailar' (toda la noche/baila baila bailando va/baila baila bailando hey) was the real song of the summer, whether you loved it or hated it. I only have to hear the first few bars of that song and I'm back in España. Other songs which will no doubt be familiar to you if you've been in Spain recently are 'Y yo sigo aquí', 'Comadre, Compadre', 'Mayonesa' and of course the slightly weird 'Mueve la colita'. The real quality all these songs possess is the power to evoke memories of happy times in Spain. Press play, and you can be transported back to Spain and you can forget about the rain and the dark days and imagine that you are on that warm playa with a cerveza. Este compact lleva muchísimos recuerdos de mis vacaciones en España, ¡mola un montón!
