About the Artist
BIOGRAPHY Wayne grew up in the church and growing up in the country (Kinloss, Trelawny) there wasn't that much activity and entertainment besides what we found at the church Stoddart Explained. His interest in music also grew from the fact that his father had a wide collection of music from Gospel to R&B and Reggae, also there was always music in the church.
Wayne was born in Kingston Jamaica and migrated to the country to live with his father in Trelawny where he attended William Knibb Memorial High School. Upon completion of high school in 1990 he returned to Kingston to complete college at Excelsior Community. The Gospel Artist lived in the deep inner-city community of Eastern Kingston (Mountain View) and existed amidst the harsh culture of the Kingston ghetto, Stoddart was able to sustain his identity as a child of God. The experiences of his environment has lead to the lyrics of comfort, encouragement and solution for exit from the hands of the enemy of humanity - the devil - for the the oppressed and depressed seeking a way out or rather up. The title track COMMITTED is a prime example of the root of Wayne Stoddart's message.
The first public recognition Stoddart received was at a concert at Clarks Town Primary School. " I was in grade 4 a the time and I just started singing a pop song and doing all the dance moves. The class went wild."
As a result of that primary school experience, Wayne and his brother Steve started singing together as the Stoddart Brothers.
Everywhere Wayne went music followed and 'visa' 'versa'. Wayne was a local High School singing star at William Knibb High School and when he went to college he formed the all male quartet Dunamis and the results were the same (the Class of 94' Excelsior Community College).
Stoddart now worships at the Mountain View New Testament Church Of God where he is the Musical Director for all choirs. Wayne formed the Gospel group Dynamis from the local members of the church and produced the album 'Fulfillment' as a church project. In March 1996 the group was nominated Best Performing Gospel Band at the Jamaica Music Awards (JAMI) for the 'Fulfillment' Project. Wayne has shared stage with artist such and Shirley Caesar, Rev F. C. Barnes and The Grace Thrillers to name a few.

Product Description
COMMITTED features the original compositions of Stoddart. The talents of this artist are numerous, he plays, he writes, he sings and he produces and arrange. The high production quality attained by Wayne and the 'Committed Crew' earned the album a distribution contract with reggae's top local record company Platinum Records. The company was so pleased with the work that it created a gospel label to market the album. The music is now released worldwide and is available in all leading record stores. When asked what inspires him to write such deep songs Wayne replied, My experience and the goodness of God to me. When I write songs, I communicate my innermost feelings and desires to God. I believe in the expression and ministry of documented original music. It offers an opportunity for generations to appreciate your and learn from my experience and testimony. Like David, the musical prophets need to write the psalm so generations can be uplifted and encourages by it.

Rednecks have yard sales. This is yet another solid album from the king of redneck comedy, Jeff Foxworthy. This guy had some very interesting toys (ball-and-paddle), and he knows a lot about the redneck culture. Buy this. You will not be let down.
MAJOR STUPID ATTACK!!!!!.......2004-01-05
HORRIBLE full off cuss and stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeff is funny, but................2002-05-29
I have a stack of Jeff's recordings on cassette (I have finally entered the 21st century and am collecting comedy on CD).. Jerry Clower introduced us to the joys of comedy recordings on road trips.... Jeff can be really hilarious, and I love his work, but I get really irritated at the way he (or his producers, or whomever is guilty of this) changes the titles of the routines on different recordings, leading you to believe you are getting new material when you aren't... When I was stocking up on CDs for this recent trip I didn't get any of his older stuff and instead bought "Totally Committed" and the group effort "Blue Collar Tour"...Both were highly entertaining, but I was angered by the fact that Jeff's part on the Blue Collar CD was what I had just heard on the Totally Committed CD... Another thing about Jeff's recordings...I would buy different cassettes at truck stops along the way, and much to my disappointment, I learned that if you buy one of Jeff's recordings with the word "trucker" or "truckstop" on the cover, all it is, is one of his other recordings using a lot of swearing. The swearing doesn't offend me, but I thought I, once again, was getting new material because the playlist was changed, when all I was getting was something I'd already heard with just a bunch of bad language thrown in. The clean version was funny on its own, I guess Jeff thinks truckers aren't capable of laughing at clean humor so he made a raunchy one for them.??? Quite frankly, I think he just rips people off.... And so far, he is the only performer I have found who does that...I've got everything Jerry Clower has recorded and I've only gotten repeats on his "Best Of" and "Greatest Hits", which is to be expected, but at least he doesn't change the titles in order to cheat people!! Shame on you, Jeff!! He's hilarious...
Fresh stuff.......2002-02-18
If you like Jeff but are tired of hearing the same material repackaged, get Totally Committed. New humor in the best Foxworthy tradition.

happily surprised !.......2007-05-05
Found this at Dollar General for $5, recognized some of the names, so I bought it. I've had it in the player for a couple weeks now! There's a good mix. some songs I choose to skip, but all of them are pretty darn good. I would highly recommend it to any interested!
Hey... Not bad........2006-07-30
I found this compilation at a Dollar General store for $5
Keeping that in mind, I was pretty floor by the selection, I would of probably bought it just for natural blues and praise you.
The music is generally uplifting, and there are two christian songs that I personally know on the album.. but they aren't overly preachy or really preachy for that matter, just positive. I think everyone should check this out if they see it in a bargain bin somewhere....
Great variety of rock songs.......2004-06-24
This CD has a good mix of different types of rock -- heavy, alternative, pop, Christian. It has a lot of newer stuff, although some songs like "Flood" and "Breathe" I recognize from a few years back. If you're into music groups like Creed, Nickelback and P.O.D. (all of which are on this CD and are a good representation of it), you'll love this CD. If you're into classic rock, I'd keep looking.
It's been done before.......2004-03-15
Nothing here is new or exciting. This is the track listing:
01 - P.O.D. - Alive
02 - Jimmy Eat World - The Middle
03 - Creed - Higher
04 - Nickelback - Breathe
05 - Jars Of Clay - Flood
06 - Foo Fighters - Learn To Fly
07 - Lifehouse - Hanging By A Moment
08 - Collective Soul - Heavy
09 - Eve 6 - Here's To The Night
10 - The Calling - Wherever You Will Go
11 - Dave Matthews Band - I Did It
12 - Trik Turner - Friends And Family
13 - Lit - My Own Worst Enemy
14 - Barenaked Ladies - Pinch Me
15 - Moby - Natural Blues
16 - Fatboy Slim - Praise You
17 - Dc Talk - Supernatural
18 - 311 - Amber
As you can see, there isn't anything rare, live, or unique about these songs, nor are they even new songs. I would only recommend buying this if you really love these songs or if you even remember loving them at one time. This would have been a lot better if the songs were current.
Sounds stupid.......2004-02-29
I'm committed 2 rock!!! Omigod!!! This is such a kewl cd dudes!!! Or not. It sounds corny and I dont even like the songs on it. Its probably from the creators of that stupid idiotic Now Thats What I Call Garbage series. Buy a real rock music complination instead, or the Freddy VS Jason soundtrack.

A Comic-Opera Treasure!.......2007-01-28
Dittersdorf is a sort of working-man's Mozart; in fact, this opera sounds similar to some of Mozart's early operas. But Mozart sought to break the rules and to explore new musical ideas; Dittersdorf is not an innovator...yet he is no less a master! This performance, too, is a materpiece of refined (not always!) comedy; the arias include some extremely difficult vocal leaps and trills, yet the primary joy is the witty verse. W.H. Auden (no less!) ramrodded this translation to English. And Anna Russell, famed for her "Analysis of Wagner's Ring Cycle" steals every scene she's in! Ad-libbing shamelessly, her introductory aria, all by itself, is worth more than the purchase price!
an obscure delight!.......2002-07-31
Eleanor Steber's image on the cover of this set caught my eye while rummaging through the cut-out bins of San Francisco on a recent opera whirlwind. What a lost treasure this performance is - recorded "LIVE" in NYC 1965! All the principles shine, their energy ebullient. Don't hesitate, buy it and smile before it disappears.

This is essentially two soundtracks in one. The first seven tracks collect seminal R&B, country, and pop tracks from the late 1950s to early 1960s. You simply cannot go wrong with Don Covay & the Goodtimers' "Mercy, Mercy" (once covered by the Rolling Stones, among others) or Johnny Cash's legendary jailbird anthem, "Folsom Prison Blues" (recorded live at Folsom Prison). Or Glen Campbell's countrypolitan cover "Wichita Lineman." Or...you get the idea.
The soundtrack's second part is in many ways even more impressive. Giant Sand's Joey Burns and John Covertino once took advantage of their band's downtime with the side project Calexico. But Calexico has taken on a life of its own, with a recommended recent new release, Hot Rail, and these 16 tracks, which are mostly atmospheric incidental music ("Bliss / Spokes") that sounds like someone carefully walking over creaky floorboards with twangy guitar and occasional Tex-Mex rhythm. Calexico perfectly mirror that dusty, lazing in the hot desert sun, border town sound their name implies. --Rob O'Connor
Album Description
Japanese release of very hard to find soundtrack for the 2000 film starring Heather Graham and directed by Lisa Krueger. Featuring an original score by Calexico (17 tracks), it also includes a handful of seven classic tracks that lead off the album, by Don Covay, Esther Phillips, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, Faron Young, Ritchie Valens, & Vaqueros del Oeste. Extremely limited. Saidera Records. 2004.
Customer Reviews:
beautiful soundtrack work from masters.......2004-03-22
The first part of the cd is very good with classic Cash and a smokin' Tejano version of Ring Of Fire in Spanish(not by Cash).
The big payoff for this is the Calexico material which althought not 100% new material, is great. Its mostly reworkings of Calexico songs acoustically without vocals, very moody and smooth but not boring.
It's re-recorded instrumentals of Spoke/Black Light/Hot Rail.......2000-12-23
First, I'm a huge Calexico fan and basically have to own everything they release, or my life is like a book missing a chapter. Second, if you've ever listened to their seminal album 'The Black Light', you know they should have been chosen to do the soundtrack to "All the Pretty Horses", not Marty Stuart. Their music lives and breathes the ambient whispers and southwestern desert soul of the novels of Cormac McCarthy. Heck, they're even from Tucson. Well, we can only hope that if "Blood Meridian" ever gets made into a movie, Calexico is chosen to make the original soundtrack recording.
So I saw the description of the Committed soundtrack as "music composed and performed by Calexico", and was immediately drawn to buy it. Then, much to my dismay I get the disc and Calexico has re-recorded instrumental versions of their greatest hits of their past three albums. They even renamed the songs! After a string of great albums, including The Black Light (incredible), Road Map '98-'98 (very good), Descamino (awesome), and Hot Rail (so so), they stumble here while pulling the wool over our eyes. At least they spared us the overdose of sappy mariachi horns prevalent on Hot Rail. Next time tell us what we're getting!
Great.......2000-06-11

Bland Mr Bungle rip-off.......2007-04-30
Cheap imitation. Effects hide the strain on the singer's voice. Reminds me of the time Sir Arthur Streeb-Greebling stole Frank Sinatra's voice-box and performed to audiences for vast amounts of cash. "We sing about rapists and clowns! Look!" --Yes, we know....please go away.
Another hidden gem by DFD.......2007-02-28
If this album is the first time you've heard DFD, you probably think the album should be titled Committed to the Nearest Insane Asylum but repeated plays are required for the uninitiated to appreciate the band's brilliance. The band recently disbanded and played their last show in Baltimore. DFD went out on top with their epic album Adultery which will always be in my top 5 albums of all time. Buy this and all other DFD albums as they're getting hard to find. All 12 tracks of CTABF are incredibly produced and I know of no other band in existence today that seamlessly shifts from one genre to another, jazz, metal, hard rock, funk, punk, ska, it's all there. My personal favorite tracks are Love Song for a Witch, Worm in a Dog's Heart, Pogo the Clown and Acid Memoirs. It's fitting that a toilet adorns the front cover of the album and I'm sure there's a hidden message for the music industry. For an insight into why great bands such as DFD disband go to [...] and click on the trailer of the soon-to-be-released documentary of how the music industry really works. DFD was the inspiration for the documentary and the bottom line is that talent is irrelevant it's all about numbers, nothing more and nothing less. Well done lads and thank you for the decade of creative, innovative and original music. You will be missed!
Excellent album from and underated band.......2007-02-22
This album has it all, witches, serial killers, acid flashbacks, and
incredible production values as well. Truly a 5 star disc. Recomended
to all fans of Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, or to anyone who has ever
been drunk at a carnival.
Amazing.......2006-01-11
This is one of the best bands I've EVER come across- and I've come across a lot of bands... the incredible musicianship combined with powerful and sometimes haunting vocals is a recipe for success. My favorite tracks are Pogo the Clown and The Acid Memoirs, which is not to say that the others aren't any good- far from it... One funny thing I noticed is that earlier reviewers have said that their cover of Grease is before the first track, whereas mine is after the last one...
In my youth a took a trip.......2005-06-25
One of the best CDs ever. With unique sound. Incredible, commpletely worth buying.

IMAGINE'S 'Masters of War' scores big........2005-11-23
If one song can make a CD (and many have before), then 'Masters of War' should do it for IMAGINE. Not that the rest of this CD isn't great (I have not yet heard it), but I just heard Parker, Parker-Namdar et al. perform Masters of War (music and lyrics by Bob Dylan) from their CD on the recently released DVD 'Poison Dust'. 'Dust' documents our country's scandalous use of Depleted Uranium in battlefield weapons since 1990, its destructive affects (permanent nuclear poisoning of participants and the environment, and hideous birth defects in future offspring), and our government's efforts to avoid disclosure, responsibility, and cessation of what's happening. The song, Masters of War, so beautifully arranged and performed by Parker and company, is a call to arms, in Dylan's understated but powerful way (as appropriate today as when he wrote it), for all Americans to standup, speak out, and stop the madness. I'm ordering IMAGINE right now and recommending it to my friends.
