A real tribute to 'New Musik' & Tony Mansfield.......2007-07-16

Well i knew this cd was 'hard to get' and i desperately wanted it, after hearing some 'samples' of it. I tried ordering it via uk, germany, but all orders were cancelled after a few months, the cd is unavailable, in the UK they even sell it for 180 British pounds!!!!! The atmosphere of the cd is completely 'Tony Mansfield' style - the music, the instruments used, even soms songs the 'singing' is in that style... even the title 'Back To Square One' makes you think of 'Back To Room One' by New Musik... outstanding songs are 'Back To Square One' - 'Nexterday' - 'Xenophobic' - 'It's About Time'(resembles 'The Planet Doesn't Mind') - 'They Call Her Love'... Well in fact all songs are JEWELS
If anyone likes this music and doesn't know 'New Musik' then look up the old eighties albums of that group, you'll enjoy them

Best Synthpop album I've heard in years..........2007-01-10

NASA was recommended to me quite a long time ago by a friend. For some reason I was hesitant to purchase a completely unknown album, and it languished on my wishlist for ages. This past Christmas I finally broke down and purchased it desperate for some new music. On first listen, I didnt think there was anything special about the album, but once I got it on my iPod and started listening to it in the car on my way to work, I was completely entranced by the catchy hooks and brilliant arrangments. The song themes are way out of left field, which I really like, kind of in the vein of Peter Schilling. The sound design is genius, odd electronic whirs and blips meld together to make wonderously catchy tunes. My highest recommendation!

I heard the single "Nexterday" and was hooked. This CD is really worth the money, and you will own a rare little gem in the synthpop world. If you enjoy electronic based bands and music, along with clever arrangements and production, you owe it to yourself to discover "Remembering the Future". Listen to the samples and know there is much more to go around. Fun, smart, and a labor of love.

This is a great CD. So much better than I could have hoped. It blends great quality synth with a creative structure and energy-filled backbeats. The vocals tell a great story.

When surfing the net I can easily listen to this album for 3-4 hours in a sitting. I love Erasure, Depeche Mode, etc. This is a quality album that measures up. What a great surprise!

Synthpop worth listening to........2004-07-14

This album is exceptional, and not just as a "synthpop" album. The songwriting is exceptional, the lyrics are witty and much better written than songs written by people for whom English is their first language.

Musically, it's some of the most imaginative synth-work I've heard in a LONG time! Honestly, to call this a "synthpop" album will probably turn people away who already have an idea of what "modern synthpop" is all about. This is unfortunate. Unlike the barrage of Depeche Mode and Erasure clones littering the landscape, NASA are a unique group, and "Remembering The Future" is a unique, and more importantly, fun album. It does "borrow" elements from other bands (New Musik above all others), this album is anything but derivative.

In conclusion, we have an album with pitch perfect vocals, memorable melodies and synthesizer programming, and a vocalist who sounds as far from Andy Bell and David Gahan as is humanly possible. If that's not enough reason to buy this album, I don't know what is. :)
