Customer Reviews:
A solid album.......2001-10-11
I think Traumziel is a solid album from Germany's Münchener Freiheit. Released in 1986, it consists of nine tracks. This is a German language disc. Overall, I find the songwriting to be pleasing, the musicianship to be skilled, and the sound quality to be tight. The material is in a pop musical direction. All the songs are likeable. Stefan Zauner's vocal delivery is good and smooth. The keyboard work of Alex Grünwald is enjoyable--keyboards are more prominent than Aron Strobel's guitar playing. Examples of tunes I like are "Geheime Wünsche," "Mach' Die Augen Zu," "Venus Und Mars," and "Aus Und Vorbei." "Geheime Wünsche" is a catchy one that sports attractive keyboard playing. The adventurous "Mach' Die Augen Zu," the longest cut of the disc that is almost eight minutes, exhibits nice keyboard work. The engaging, pretty ballad "Aus Und Vorbei," the album's closing song, is noteworthy and features serene singing from Zauner. "Venus Und Mars" is another gratifying composition with a pleasant intro and appealing keyboard playing. The CD booklet does not include the song lyrics, but does contain an individual photo of each member of the band. The album cover displays a photo of the group, all dressed in black against a blue background, with extended bows and arrows in their hands ready to be shot. The CD is just over 39 minutes. Traumziel is a worthy piece of music from the German quintet Münchener Freiheit.
