Havana's great Orquesta Melodias del 40, makes a brilliant comeback in this "ENVIDIA" label release. The orchestra's new personnel injects much of the hot charanga rhythm and feeling of the original group, which became a favorite both in Cuba and abroad. The new "Melodias" features former "Van Van" flutist Orlando Canto and an All-Star ensemble. Featured in this CD are many of the original groups old time hit tunes like, "Montuno Favorito", "Jorobao", "Seis Lindas Cubanas", "Tunas Bayamo", "Caprichito de Verdad", "El Niño Prodigio","Me Voy Pa'Moron", "Esta Melodia", "Se Va Conmigo", "Linda Antillana", "Madre Le Pido A Dios" and "Deuda". These old hits have been endowed with updated arrangements, which make the purchase of this CD irresistible. Another brilliant production by Luis Dominguez and his "ENVIDIA" label! I highly recommend it!
