Very good violonist.......2005-11-08

I did not know Robson Miguel, despite living in Brazil. I saw him in a Television Show yesterday. His technique is impressive.
As a musician, I used to listen to several excellent violonists as Andres Segovia, Paco de Lucia, Joe Pass.

Robson is gifted with an impressive technique and his sensibility allows him to interpret several different styles.

I am not giving him 5 stars only because I live in Brazil. I know a brazilian pianist, famous in England, that I would rate 2 stars because he is, in my opinion, completely "square", despite his good technique.

In this cd Robson gives a small sample of talent, playing Brazilian and Spanish classics. The listener will find from a refined sensibility (Wave) to a frightening technique (Aranjuez), always accompanied of a sharp intelligence and a great improvise capacity. For those that feel longings of Laurindo Almeida and Baden Powell this cd is highly recommended. His versatility perhaps doesn't find parallel: he is going of the baião to Bach, of the choro to Chopin and of the bossa nova to Albéniz with an almost frightening detachment.
