5 out of 5 stars It's hard to put into words........2007-07-16

To describe this album in a few short words is impossible. Roy Orbison is one of the greatest of all times. NO one (in my humble opinion) will ever have a bigger impact on music in my lifetime. This album shows just how a live album should be. Unforgettable

5 out of 5 stars Pretty Women.......2007-07-16

Roy Orbison, Bruce Springteen, Elvis Costello and more. What's not to like. Golden Oldie for everybody out there who loves Rock and Roll. Doen't hurt that Amazon shipped it to me in 4 days.

4 out of 5 stars Best of Roy live, 20 years ago via television..........2007-07-05

I've always been a casual Orbison fan---while enjoying his radio hits, I never felt drawn to buying a whole LP. Finally, I invested in this disc, from a kind of a comeback concert televised in 1987. On it, Roy gets subtle help from a bunch of good guest artists, but the main attraction, as always, is his distinctive voice, songwriting skills, and arranging artistry. He was in good vocal shape on this occasion, and his big hits do not sound much different than the original 45-rpm singles did which began coming out more than 20 years earlier. In fact, the best performances captured here are those big hits: "Only the Lonely" and "Blue Bayou" and "Running Scared" and "Oh, Pretty Woman." The tunes I was less familiar with, "Leah" and "The Comedians" for instance, I found much less interesting. If you, like me, know that Roy had come a long way from Wink, Texas through Clovis, NM and Memphis, TN to superstardom, and you wanted him represented in the music that reflects your younger days, this is as good a choice as any. (Although I was a kid in Jersey when Roy had his first hit single, I now live halfway between his boyhood home in Wink and the site of his first recordings (not hits) at Norman Petty's studio in Clovis. Roy's initial success came from his association at Sun Records in Memphis, however, which must have seemed like a grand metropolis to the geeky looking kid from Wink.)

5 out of 5 stars THE ESSENTIAL ROY ORBISON.......2007-05-12

THERE IS NO ONE GREATER THAN ROY ORBISON AND THIS IS ONE OF HIS BEST CD'S. IT IS PRICED REASONABLY AND THE SHIPPING IS FAST AND REASONABLE.

5 out of 5 stars LOVE ROY ORBISON.......2007-05-09

AS A TEENAGER I GREW UP LISTENING TO ROY ORBISON. HE'S THE BEST. I LOVE HIS BLACK AND WHITE CD...IT HAS ALL HIS GREATEST HITS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CD FOR ALL THE KIDS GROWING UP IN THE 1960'S.

Though the lightning crackling across the CD cover suggests a heavy-metal band (or perhaps a cross between the Addams Family and a Black Oak Arkansas reunion), the second release by Cherryholmes on Ricky Skaggs's label establishes the family band as one of the most promising acts in contemporary bluegrass. The star here is Cia Cherryholmes, the banjo-playing daughter who composes most of the album's original material and ranks with Alison Krauss as a vocalist on highlights such as the opening "You Don't Know What Love Is" and the prison-ballad title track. Yet the instrumental interplay and harmonies reflect the sextet's blood ties, while the range of material bridges the traditional and progressive (it's hard to hear Cia's "Don't Give Your Heart to a Knoxville Girl," sung by brother B.J., without thinking of the Louvin Brothers' classic "Knoxville Girl"). --Don McLeese

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Bluegrass music.......2007-07-13

If your looking for a good example of Bluegrass music, this is the CD for you...I have seen Cherryholmes perform and their singing, playing and clogging is perfection...This CD can take you from mellow to foot stomping...I absolutely advise anyone to purchase this CD...You won't be disappointed...

5 out of 5 stars Another Home Run!.......2007-06-15

Cherryholmes first Skaggs Family cd was excellent and it appears the family is starting a tradition. This cd is solid country and bluegrass. The instruments are played with technical skill , feeling, and the arrangements are perfect for each song. The singing is top notch and I much prefer Cia Cherryholmes voice in clarity and range. It is good to hear the boys sing more, and Sandy as well! Highly recommended.

Album Description

Comedian Lewis Black, best known for his caustic yet hilarious social commentary as a commentator on Comedy Central's Daily Show, unleashes nearly an hour of his insightful material on this CD. Recorded just shortly before Thanksgiving 1999, we catch Lewis on one of his incredible tirades against all things inane and moronic, be it the weather person, or Bill Clinton's definition of "is."

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A Must For any Zebra Fan!!.......2005-08-27

Having been born and raised in New Orleans I've been listening to Zebra sice I was a teen (now 37). The cd is great from start to finish. It has unreleased tracks and alternate versions of some their best known songs. No way to be disappointed with the track list. The only oter song I would've squeezed on here would be a cover Zep's The Ocean. A truly outstanding best of.

4 out of 5 stars excellent new orleans band..........2001-04-17

fisrt heard of these guys in high school when radio was playing " lullaby," and its my favorite zebra song..."bears" and "who's behind the door ? " are also very good...one of the lesser known 80's bands that had gold records and a cult following...

5 out of 5 stars ALL OF THIS FROM A 3-MAN BAND?.......2000-06-22

If you're a fan of 80's rock, this is a sure-fire winner to add to your collection. Zebra is a band that produces one of the most unique sounds you will ever hear- why they never made it to the top of the world of rock is a mystery to me. If you haven't heard their music, buy this CD and enjoy the ride. If you have heard of this band, then you already have their previous releases in your collection.

This group reminds me of Rush in many ways: A three-man band with a distinctive sound, songs with excellent lyrics, and musicians who are very talented. In listening to this CD, it still amazes me that this band is a trio. Equally amazing is their ability to produce the goods on stage as well, as I have seen them live many times.

Go ahead and add to your cart one of the most overlooked bands of its era.

5 out of 5 stars THE BEST BAND NEVER TO MAKE THE BIGS.......2000-06-17

I'll state from the beginning that I am from Zebra's hometown and have been going to their concerts since they began playing. But I grew up a huge fan of the 80's mega band/metal sound and have also seen Van Halen, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Journey, Boston, Scorpions, Motley Crue, Judas Priest etc. in concert as well and own just about every CD from these bands.

If you are looking to hear some phenomenal music from that era and don't have Zebra in your collection, put it in your cart now. This band rocks and you will not be dissapointed. I rank them up there with my favorite band of all time, Van Halen. Yes, they're that good. One of the best bands of their era not to hit the big time. And yes, I will be going to their next local concert.

3 out of 5 stars What's Black & White and Rock'n'Roll All Over?.......2000-06-03

This is the album to get from Zebra. They were the "unknown" band with the semi-hit, Who's Behind the Door. This three man band's lead guitarist/singer, Randy Jackson, has the vocal stylings of a hard rock Frankie Valli. He has a HIGH voice. But that's okay, because it works on Zebra's music.

The songs Tell Me What You Want, Hard Livin' Without You and Wait Until the Summer's Gone really rock. There's also some more good, melodic tunes in Bears, Lullaby and Who's Behind the Door. Also fun is Riverside and Better Not Call. The other tracks are fair.

Zebra is really one of the great, but relatively "unknown" bands of the 80's and 90's. They're right up there with Steelheart, Thunder, XYZ and Shooting Star. Give them a try, there's some good stuff in this release.

5 out of 5 stars A musical treasure-box.......2006-09-10

Both the music and this actual product are masterpieces. John Dowland's collected works here - covering 12 compact discs - exhibit the depth and power of this composer, a composer who many now regard as suffering from clinical depression. I doubt that the issue of the diagnosis of Dowland's depression can ever be settled, however, it is certainly obvious from his music, so completely on display here, that he was a man with very dark depths and corners in his mind. Dowland's various manifestations and "takes" on his own tune, "Flow my tears"/"Lachrimae" are here. This tune has haunted me ever since I first heard it when I was a child. It seems to sum up Dowland's feelings - at least Dowland seems to have thought so.

The First, Second, Third and Fourth Bookes of Songes, A Musicall Banquet, the keyboard transcriptions, all the lute music, consort music are here and virtually everything else written or supposedly written by John Dowland. Anthony Rooley and The Consort of Musicke perform this music with style and feeling throughout. This 12 CD set is something of a monument to the ensemble - I only wish they'd finished their collection of Monteverdi madrigals, which was equally good (La Venexiana are currently doing a magnificent job of recording all Monteverdi's books of madrigals for the GLOSSA label).

This is an expensive set, however, you will probably never need to buy another John Dowland CD again after buying and listening to this collection.

I bought this CD set on a mild Summer evening of 1998 and listened to it while sitting in my sun room - which a glorious orange sunset in progress, and a glass of wine. It brought back so many memories.

5 out of 5 stars a beautiful journey into melancholy.......2001-06-15

I'm amazed at how many people tend to associate John Dowland's music with a tragic sense of drama. While no doubt this is art highly based on sadness, the "tragic" sense of it is more a legacy from the Romantic period. During the Renaissance, however, sadness was undestood as a very aesthetic way of approaching life. That is also the reason why Shakespeare's tragedies appear more sophisticated than his comedies.

Dowland, a contemporary of Shakespeare, discovered that meditating on a sad theme is, at the same time, a way of discovering a special beauty that we tend to avoid (maybe because of the "tragic" heritage of the Romantics). So, in the end, meditating on sadness is an uplifting experience! This box set is a journey into melancholy that includes songs, chamber music, pieces for lute, some rare sacred music and -as a highlight- Dowland's beautiful collection of seven pieces for viola which he called "Lachrimae" (Tears).

4 out of 5 stars Thanks for the memories........2006-05-28

This CD features 65 Television theme songs from the late '40s to the early '60s. Most of the more famous shows from this era appeared on Volumes 1 and 2 of this series, so there are some pretty obscure shows on this one. Who remembers "Karen" or "The Everglades"? Of course, there are also some fondly remembered shows, like "Tennessee Tuxedo", "Make Room For Daddy" and "The Untouchables". But there isn't quite as much nostalgia value for me this time around, since many of the themes are from shows I never saw.

2 out of 5 stars Not My Favorite!.......2001-12-06

A few years ago when I was in a TV theme phase I got all the Television's Greatest Hits CD's and most of the collection is good but I was disappointed with Vol 4, probably because I have never heard the majority of these themes and I was bored with The CD, the only themes I have ever heard are Lassie, Make Room For Daddy, Father Knows Best, Ozzie and Harriet, Davy Crocket, Gunsmoke, The Fugitive, The Untouchables, and Candid Camera, the rest are TV shows that I have never seen syndicated reruns of so I don't know their themes. I guess a person should just stick with the Television's Greatest Hits CD's that have themes of TV shows that they actually grew up watching or saw on Nick at Nite or TVland.

4 out of 5 stars Inconsistent, but still great.......2000-05-02

Lots of fun, and I'm glad to have it, but can you really claim any artistic merit for the Roger Ramjet song?

Two other minor points: It's kind of silly to have The Wonderful World of Color on an album called Black and White Classics. Also, I was extremely disappointed in the Fugitive cut without the voiceover. Come on -- is your most vivid memory the music, or William Conrad's voice, " Dr. Richard Kimble, an innocent victim of blind justice..."?

Still, I'm glad I have it. Where else are you going to find Beany & Cecil, Captain Midnight, Soupy Sales, etc. A lot of old friends are here.

The words of Bob Hope's theme song say it best -- "Thanks for the memories."

4 out of 5 stars fabulous but what about..........2000-04-16

I love it, but I really want is a CD of old TV COMMERCIALS! "Winston Tastes Good Like a Cigarette Should..." Speedy's song from Alka Seltzer, "Coke For The Ta-aste Of Your Li-i-ife", etc. Thanks.

2 out of 5 stars Silence would be preferred..........2007-03-22

I'm only giving it two stars because one of the songs is actually not too bad "Ohio is For Lovers", other than that, do as I did and don't waste your money on this album. It's very dissapointing and unpleasant to the ears, and I usually enjoy some screamo.

1 out of 5 stars Wow...what could I say that hasn't been said?.......2007-03-14

I know.

GET THE HELL AWAY FROM MY WINDOW WITH YOUR RADIO!

Thats some scary stuff. I really hate this music. Almost as much as top 40 pop and rap, and I pity people who like any of that stuff. For a more detailed review on music today please visit my 1 star review for that new Fergie cd (the explicit lyrics one). You will most likely be pleased. Also, I can't stand those "emo" kids. Ok, for those of you who are listeing, you have nothing to be depressed about. The average "emo" kid is an upper middle class kid with everything going for him/her who wants to "stand out" from the crowd and look like a complete fag in some girl pants. Grow up.

Sincerely,
Jake

3 out of 5 stars Okay music, horrible unoriginal lyrics.......2007-01-26

I would say that this album is okay. Their music is very catching, but their lyrics seem just like random lines thrown in to aid their music in trying to sound depressing.

Sure, their music can evoke the sad, melancholy feeling that they are aiming for, but I feel that they can be more creative with their lyrics. I mean, the chorus of their best known song in this album, Ohio is for lovers, has the most unoriginal lyrics. "Because you kill me.
You know you do, you kill me well."

I would say that overall, this is a good album, and they can execute music/melody/rhythm well, but if you're looking for depth in any of their songs, you're looking in the wrong place.

5 out of 5 stars Please.......2006-09-18

Now come on I listen to this and i'm in no way emo i just like the harder music i think these guys are a great band and don't get enough credit.

before you go off on a tear on how much this band sucks and start saying that all fans who listen to them are "emo" stop and think boy i sound a little hypocritical that's like me saying everyone who listens to classic rock smokes pot.

anyway i like this band my fav songs on the cd are life on standby, niki FM, And ohio is for lovers.

1 out of 5 stars Haha!! Set Abominae is spot on 100%!!.......2006-09-05

I'd write a review but Set Abominae wrote his so well, I'd just be regurgitating his words.

Hawthorne Heights is no different from the rest of the emo crowd (they all suck), don't waste your time with this s*** and go for quality bands like Dream Theater, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Iced Earth, Nevermore, and Symphony X.

Once you free yourself from emo, you'll thank me for recommending greater bands.

5 out of 5 stars George Shearing could sell a tune without even trying--and that's no small feat !!!.......2007-06-28

George Shearing entertained countless people in the twentieth century with his excellent piano playing; his blindness never discouraged him. Not only is he a hero for enriching our lives with his fine work; his artistry provides an excellent example for younger emerging artists to study so that they can better themselves.

The CD is a "two-fer" CD; this means that we get all the tracks from two of George Shearing's record albums: Black Satin and White Satin. Awesome!

The CD track set begins with the ten tracks from Black Satin. "The Folks Who Live On The Hill" gives us a perfect beginning to the CD. The lush musical arrangement sounds so smooth; this is easy music at its very best with an emphasis on George's piano playing. The arrangement makes good use of the strings and percussion to evoke a pensive yet soothing mood for "The Folks Who Live On The Hill."

"If I Should Lose You" continues in the same vein only now we hear a Latin beat added to the overall arrangement. The piano gets more of the spotlight, too. Grab your sweetheart, jump up and start dancing--this is the perfect music to dance to! "Black Satin" oozes sophistication with yet another classic ballad being molded to fit within the Latin rhythms of the day. Excellent! The strings enhance the quality of "Black Satin," too. "Nothing Ever Changes My Love" uses many of the same techniques employed by the song "Black Satin." Roll up the rug and start dancing, folks! That Latin beat with its trademark percussion from the late 1950s and the early 1960s always moves me. These arrangements by Billy May and George Shearing shine like gold.

"Moon Song" begins with a dramatic flourish by the strings; and George Shearing comes in with a beautiful piano arrangement for "Moon Song." "Moon Song" is remarkably romantic, pensive and sensitive all at once. George's flawless piano playing during the middle of this number showcases his talent. What a lush arrangement overall, too. The CD track set for the record album entitled Black Satin ends with the upbeat, bouncy and somewhat spicy medley of "As Long As I Live/Let's Live Again." What a joyous tune for the ending of this set! The strings complement George Shearing's piano playing to perfection; and I like how they use the drums.

We then get all the numbers from another George Shearing album entitled White Satin. White Satin literally bursts at the seams with romantic numbers; and the beginning track entitled "Your Name Is Love" sets this tone right away. The flutes are well used in this arrangement as Billy May conducts the number. "Dream," a well known classic love ballad, gets the royal treatment by Shearing, May and the rest of the crew. They perform "Dream" with passion and style. George's piano playing is nicely showcased in "Dream," too. Great! The ballad "Laura" comes from the movie of the same name; and you won't need any lyrics to this number to experience the thoughtful and somewhat melancholy mood of this number. George's piano runs parallel to the percussion; this creates a lush, romantic effect that makes "Laura" an instant highlight of this album.

"How Long Has This Been Going On" starts with a great horn introduction; and when the band and George on piano come in the full romantic effect of this instrumental ballad really shines. This is easy listening music that even royalty couldn't resist! They also slow down the usual tempo just a bit to embellish this great number. "Love's Melody" relies on the strings and the piano to carry the bulk of the melody; and this works well.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. "I'll Take Romance" ends the CD--and the second record album entitled White Satin--with a distinctly upbeat tone that leaves you wanting more. The infectiously catchy melody makes good use of the piano as the strings and percussion enhance the number. "I'll Take Romance" works on several levels at once; and therefore this number makes for a strong ending to this CD.

The liner notes give you the song credits and chart debut dates for the record albums Black Satin and White Satin. I would have liked an essay but this is a minor disappointment.

George Shearing's remarkable talent glistens on every single track on this fine CD; and he will remain a force in the entertainment world for quite some while to come. I recommend this CD for fans of George Shearing; and people who enjoy easy listening with an occasional Latin beat thrown in will always enjoy this CD.

Thank you, George!

4 out of 5 stars Easy to like with a good blend of Easy and some Latin tempos.......2006-11-26

Over an hour of solid Shearing with the first 10 Numbers emphasizing the Quintet, and the next 12 (White Satin) giving more emphasis to the whole Orchestra. One great song is #15 entitled "Old Folks". For such a wonderful musical number, I wonder what the Lyrics might be? 5 duplicates from other Albums, but all good ones, and all told 4 Latin tempos. A very good mix of two Shearing stylings is a real winner.

5 out of 5 stars George Shearing and strings: a sound like no other.......2006-04-02

Having received a faux-antique record player as a Christmas present, and eager to try out my new toy, I purchased both "Black Satin" and "White Satin" as LPs from a used book store. The lush orchestral arrangements, coupled with the distinctive Shearing piano-vibraphone melody, took my breath away. The opening song, "The Folks Who Live On The Hill", best represents this combination, offering the listener a beautiful partnership of Shearing's interpretation and the background of strings that support ably the haunting mood of the song. "Black Satin", a Latin-based melody with plenty of swing, leaves the listener wanting more. Another song with a Latin theme is "Blue Malibu". The percussion, combined with the harmonic patterns from Shearing's piano, take you to a sunny beach overlooking blue waters and white sands. From sexy to introspective, the songs of this compilation will lift your spirits. Truly timeless music!

5 out of 5 stars George Shearing's Black and White Satin.......2004-10-07

This set of productions by George Shearing was put together for their similar sounds and if you listen to these 22 songs and try to figure out which songs belong to what production, it would be a pretty hard task. The combination of Shearing's beautiful piano and the strings behind the music make this a pleasant and relaxing CD to listen to. Compared to other Shearing productions, these two collections give the listener a more sensitive and mellow sound which makes it perfect for a late rainy night.
A song that stands out from this collection is the melodious "Moon Song." This track, although just over two minutes, has so much music that it will make you listen to it over and over again. The most interesting part of this song is the dramatic ending which goes back to the intro of the song but this time more mysterious and haunting. Another song that will draw your attention is the popular standard "Laura." From all the versions that I have heard this is by far the best of them. Similar to "Moon Song," the ending of "Laura" comes back to the main melody but takes an unexpected turn to give it a happy ending. The sounds of this track give me the impression that if there is a "Laura", she is a lovely woman.
Although there are no lyrics in these productions, I think these sounds give the listener one thousand things to talk about, like it did for me.
I enjoy listening to George Shearing because his music is very rich in melody and his solos represent him as a great pianist. Whether he plays with his quartet or with an orchestra in the background, Shearing shows that he is versatile at different sounds.
Other artists that I listen to along with Shearing are Bill Evans, and Eliana Elias to name a few. From other Shearing albums that I own, I would definitely recommend his Christmas production: "Christmas with the George Shearing Quintet."

4 out of 5 stars Easy listening, rather than jazz in these old LP's..........2003-07-06

Beautiful music, but best for background sounds, is my take on these two Capitol LP's. Razor & Tie put them together on CD in 1998, but "Black Satin" was a 1957 release, and "White Satin" came along in 1960. Both have orchestra backing, which diminishes the jazz feel for Shearing's always superb piano work. While the booklet credits "The George Shearing Quintet & Orchestra" for "Black", no players are named. Since Billy May did the arrangements, however, one might assume he also provided the other musicians. On the "White" album, three years later, May is credited with "conducting" the orchestra. Out of the 22 tracks, only two are written by George. The rest are a mixture of standards and now-obscure songs. I love Shearing, but I like him best with a quartet or quintet. His solo albums and his orchestra-backed works tend to be pretty, but a bit dull. Still, there are moments on this disc which are compelling, including his rendition of the Gershwin's classic "How Long Has This Been Going On?" A naughty bonus, for its era: The original cover of "White Satin" is reproduced as the back cover insert in this reissue. It features a redheaded woman in an open-front white dress, semi-reclining in an inviting pose. Tame by the standards of rap music videos, but quite daring for 1960.

5 out of 5 stars Great CD........2006-08-13

This is a great BoDeans album. "Good Things" is on here. But don't just listen to this song, listen to the others as well. It's a great album, but I of course enjoy all BoDeans music.

4 out of 5 stars Buena Continuacion.......2005-10-29

4 out of 5 stars Infectious American Rock.......2001-12-06

"Black and White" is a great collection of straight-ahead pop-rock songs, nearly all of them ridiculously catchy and infectious. Like the BoDeans' later effort,"Go Slow Down," this CD is all guitar rock -- if there are synths/keyboards, they are quite low key and used only for rhythm, effects (very few), or atmosphere.

Of the 12 songs, 7 are incredibly good and make the CD worth purchasing. For good or ill, the hands-down best song on the CD is the first track, "Good Things." If you are not tapping your toes and struggling to sing along with the chorus, check your wrist for a pulse or your toe for a morgue tag. Simply great pop-rock with a bittersweet edge. The BoDeans have written the quintessential unrequited pop love song.

However, even though the album reaches its zenith right out of the gate, there are still a good number of gems waiting for the listener. "Any Given Day," the fifth track, features a chorus riff and lyric that you will be singing for days after. I'm not sure if these guys missed their true calling in writing jingles for commercials, but I am glad they've done something with their gift. "For one dollar you can see angels call/For two dollar you can see your enemies fall/For three dollar, you can be king for a day." Trust me. You WILL be singing this!

"Do I Do" and "Bad for You" are more hand-clapping, car-dancing inspiring pieces. Both love songs, the first manages to be both bittersweet and sensually groovy. The second, "Bad for You," is a romp of a song, featuring simple (though not simplistic) lyrics and a (here's that word again) fabulously infectious rhythm.

Additionally, "True Devotion," "Paradise," and "Long Hard Day" all match up to the BoDeans at their best. Spanning from sad lament to rocking anthem, they draw you in and have you searching the CD booklet to ensure you can sing along next time.

While I state that 7 songs are stand outs, only 2 of the tracks are what I consider unredeemable failures: "Black, White and Blood Red" and "Going Home." It's not the music that fails here; it's the ear-bloodying vocals of the #2 singer of the group. Sounding as if he swallowed a mouthful of broken glass, his raspy singing voice really grates on these tracks. For the other 10 songs, the other singer does the vocals, and his style and voice are simply great. On "True Devotion," the two share singing responsibilities, but it works on that track.

"Forever on My Mind," "Naked" and "Hell of a Chance" simply don't register with me. They're not bad or good -- a bit bland and unremarkable. If the CD is playing out of reach, I let the tracks play. If it's playing on my PC or close by, I will skip them.

If you only know the BoDeans through "Closer to Free," you'll really dig this collection. If you're looking for great listener-friendly rock to clean the house, wash the car, or get ready to go out on a Saturday night, search no longer.

4 out of 5 stars Wholehearted release.......2001-07-09

This Wisconsin band's fourth album is a solid, hearty and wholesome effort without being stodgy. It is enjoyable throughout as the BoDeans have put together 12 tracks of fresh, easy-to-digest guitar-based rock.

The other main strengths evident here are their songwriting and their two vocalists. Singers Sam Llanas and Kurt Neumann have pleasing and distinctive voices.

Three of the more intense songs, "Long Hard Day", "Naked" and the single "Black, White and Blood Red" are certainly highlights.

Black and White is immediately accessible and does not seem to have a weak spot.

1 out of 5 stars BOOHOO.......2006-08-15

Once again another emo band whining about how terrible life is. We don't want to hear it!!! Keep it to yourselves, you wimps. Why do emo bands exist to begin with. They write about how messed up their life is when basically everybodies life is messed up. We've all got problems. But we don't have to put it in music so the rest of the world has to listen to it. SHUT UP!!!

3 out of 5 stars People like what they like.......2006-07-21

I liked this album but I like a lot of music. If you're only into metal then you probably won't like this album. If you think Hawthorne Heights (or any of the other bands that are often metioned with them) is an emo whinning baby then you probably won't like this album.

I do want to point out that, people do like this album and if you like simmilar bands they you might just like this album and think it's worth buying.

I'm not writing this review to bash Hawthorne Heights because frankly, I like them. I also do not go on the page of bands that I DON'T like and take the time to say how much they suck.

That's my review... if you like this type of music you'll probably like the cd... if not you probably won't.

That is probably the only thing you have to consider when buying this CD. (not other people's opinion on "scene/emo/hardcore kids")

5 out of 5 stars The best band ever.......2006-07-20

I love these guys, ever since i saw them at House of Blues here in Myrtle in 05, my favorite, i am also a huge senses failed and sum 41 and unwritten law fan. I saw them all together 2 years ago since then i have bought all 2 cd's yes there is 3 they had a band before with a diff name before they signed with new label.
I have seen them in concert 2 times, i also play guitar and am in a band and i love the hard hitting riffs and picks scrapes and mutes they really give the songs meaning. I love the lead singers voice to its great for this type of music. I would reccomend to anyone who is into any kind of rock to pick this one up.
