Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Best of the Best.......2003-09-06

After Super Junky Monkey's singer, Mutsumi 623 passed away, this collection was put together to showcase the band's career. It has a few early live tracks, some tracks from each of their albums, a few rare bonus tracks, and some _video_ of the band playing (including an amazing recent rendition of Towering Man).

SJM, for those who don't know, is an all-female Japanese group whose influences span the realm of Funkadelic, Jaco Pastorius, Slayer, Primus... and these are just the things I can think of off the top of my head. Every one of them is an excellent musician, and together they have to be one of the tightest bands ever to exist. Some of their music is hard to listen to at first (very complicated and noisy), while some is as catchy as a Jackson 5 song. To miss out on them would (IMHO) be a shame indeed!
