I listened to this music (my daughter is half Hawaiian) when my daughter was a baby ten years ago and it would always soothe her and put her to sleep because it's so soothing and beautiful. Now, my son, when he teeths he is inconsolible! He will not stop for a bottle, to be rocked, sang to, put down in his bed, etc. But I play this, and not even 3 seconds later, he is on his way to la la land. It is wonderful. I recommend it to any parent! Or anyone who wants to de-stress.

My Favorite CD.......2006-02-17

Keali'i Reichel has such a nice mellow voice.
His Music is so soothing and Kawaipunahele is my favorite CD of his works!
Keali'i Reichel includes familar songs along with the Hawaiian theme that puts you in a very mellow mood.
Only wish I had this CD when my kids were all small.
I have bought two of this CD one I bought in Hawaii and this one I bought for my girlfriend because she drives a Limo and would use it in the Limo.

Feel the Spirit of Aloha.......2006-02-08

I bought this CD on Maui, listened to it while we were there, brought it home and listened to it and, thanks to the included lyrics, learned the words to all the songs. I don't speak much Hawaiian, but I now can sing some songs in Hawaiian. Keali'i Reichel has a wonderful voice, great talent, a love for Hawaiian traditions and his legacy, and I can feel the Spirit of Aloha as he sings the songs on this CD.

As you know, all of Keali'i's CD's are recommended. This one was his debut CD, released in 1994. It features traditional Hawaiian favorites such as "Akaka Falls," as well as original compositions including "E Ho'i I Ka Pili," "Kauanoeanuhea," and the title track, "Kawaipunahele." It also contains cover versions of The Beatles' "In My Life" and Sticks' "Come Sail Away." Keali'i's chanting comes across at the beginning of "In My Life" and in the last track, "He Mele Inoa No Kawaipunahele." Be sure to pick this one up!

Awesome remix!.......2005-09-22

If you like Keali'i Reichel and you like the song "Kawaipunahele," this is the single for you. It features a remix of the song with an incredible background vocal twist by Shay Jones and an instrumental version. Trust me, you're going to want to start dancing or do an aerobics routine to it! Be sure to pick it up and start workin' out! Keali'i should do some more remixes in the future!

I am a big fan of Keali`i Reichel's music. I have all his albums so I wanted this single when I saw it. I do not care for it. The driving beat is uncharacteristic of even his more up tempo songs. His vocals on some verses sound as if they were being broadcast through a very bad speaker. Keali`i Reichel is an extremely talented songwriter, composer, and singer. I think the "Kawaipunahele Remix" was a misguided attempt to sound more contemporary. Keali`i, I say stick with your tried and true; life experience, issues you are passionate about, ballads, chants, and traditional Hawaiian songs.

The original version of "Kawaipunahele is a very enchanting and beautiful love song. I recommend you get the album entitled "Kawaipunahele" instead. Along with the title song, there are many beautiful songs.

The Dance Remix.......2000-09-02

Just a reminder that this is a remix of Keali`i's original title track from his 1994 release "Kawaipunahele." The driving beat, new arrangemnt, and backing vocals by Shay add a new twist to this classic Hawaiian song.

I love his voice and music. When I went to see his concert at Maui(Feb 2000). He used this Disco version Kawaipunahele for closing concert. When I heard this song I couldn't believe my ear. You will like this Disco sounds. You won't forget this Disco sounds. You will enjoy to see this CD's jacket. I'd like to say thank you to Keali'i and Punahele Co. Thank you for a wonderful gift.

Keali`i Reichel is an exponent of Hawai`ian culture and language, and it shines through in every recording of his I've heard. This collection includes both contemporary music and traditional Hawai`ian music, and it's all gorgeous. (Would that my voice sounded a tenth as good as his.)

Kealii's music is the best, I have his all his cd's; although all the music of Hawaii is great! I have a small collection the of the island music. I have relatives their and they send 'em home to me, and I also aquire cd's and video's from Kaloe's Music in Kaneohe, on Ohau.

Found this to be a excellent example of the island style. Can't stop playing it. If you are looking for beautiful music in a different style, this is the CD. You hear Reichel all the time when you are on the Islands.
