Customer Reviews:
Is Kana right for you?.......2005-12-28
Fans of the Doubutsu-teki Ningen album can expect to hear more of the same material, while new fans can use the three songs here to decide whether or not they feel Kana's music is right for them. Review of the three songs:
"Niku": Starts off on a slow, mellow note, with Kana singing in that cutesy, innocent voice. But hang tight, because just when you think the song is over -- BAM!, the track truly hits off with the guitars and Kana brings out her famous low screechy/growling voice.
"Kandzume": Another rock/punk type track. The music is reminiscent of No Doubt's "Tragic Kingdom" album without the ska. Come to think of it, Kana's low voice is somewhat reminiscent of Gwen Stefani's vocal work -- but I digress. This song is a good example of the various range Kana can produce; she is able to jump from her deep "punk" voice to her high "cute" voice in a span of seconds.
"Rainbow -Doubutsu Shiki-": It's just Kana and a guitar in this track. This song is fairly low key, and plays off of the first track from Doubutsu-teki Ningen. There's a relaxed, tender feel to the music, which gives off the impression that Kana is sitting next to you, singing softly.
