Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A nice compilation that could have been a lot better.......2005-07-23

Radio Futura is one of the most progressive and successful groups in the history of Spanish rock. Their discography is made up of 4 studio albums, 1 remix album, and 1 live album. Plus whatever other "gretaest hits" compilations BMG or its subsidiaries may have found profitable to put out, notably "Memoria del Porvenir", and this one, "Paisajes Electricos". Whereas on "Memoria", the major mistake (or complaint) is that certain tracks are no the original hits, but remixes, the same is repeated herein. Only that on this compilation , since it spans 2 CDs and 1 DVD, the repeat of that mistake is totally unforgivable; there's plenty of rrom to include the original plus the rmix versions of certain songs since each has enough merits to stand on its own as hits. In addition, they could have included on the audio CDs two or three good songs of which videos are provided on the DVD ("Interferencias", "Historia del play back", and possibly "enamorado de la moda juvenil).
The DVD included here has a nice selection of videoclips of songs (many original versions, omitted from the audio CDs) which will satisfy many new and old fans alike. Radio Futura as live performers, however, are as exciting as new order or ladytron: with the exception of the singer (santiago auseron), all members are too shy to face the cameras, and prefer to hide behind their instruments. As showmen, they lack talent, and they don;t improve with time or age. In other words, while their music is good, their show is boring, and this is a shame. Some of the clips, especially from their later years, as they proved themselves a successful band, are cheesy and extremely low budget. While on their early hits this is understandable, it is condemnable on the part of BMG for not supporting this band more especially by their 4th and final studio album which is their best.
I bought this CD from Caiman for $20- here on Amazon. i suggest you wait until the price drops. unless you have none of their work, and are dying to have this album because of the compilation, it's not worth the $30- thay are asking for at this time, ESPECIALLY since this compilation LACKS a booklet or a biography on the DVD. For a band of this caliber, this is truly a crime. BMG should have spent a few extra Euros and improved the package a bit more since it does not look like there'll be another one after this one.
