Their uniqueness has gained them a wide level of acceptance in the entertainment industry. Recently landing spots on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Culture Shock and ZED programs Their music and message strike a nerve in both native and non-native listeners encouraging change and understanding on all social levels. With compositions that cross between commercial and underground rap music WARPARTY is directly making the transition into the mainstream music industry. (Parental Advisory) The group first came together in 1995. WARPARTY the Reign was the winner of the newly added category, "Best Rap Album", at the 2001 Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards. In January 2002 the WARPARTY rap video Feeling Reserved II debuted nationally on Much Music. The video was produced with funding from MuchMusic, the first time a Native American rap or hip hop group received such funding for an independent project. The video was also nominated for "Best Music Video" in the 2002 Urban Music Association of Canada awards. The group set another first when they were the first Native American group to host MuchMusic's "Rap City" show, and another when they were the first musicians in Canada to get sponsorship from international designer Tommy Hilfiger when they wore his clothing at the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival in Whistler.
