About the Artist
Ruth Yaakov was born in Israel and is currently living and working in the city of Jerusalem, origin and destination of the Jewish Ziara (pilgrimage), that symbolizes the mental and physical yearning of the believer to God.

Product Description
Ruth Yaarov collects and interprets the songs of the Sephardi m, the Hispano-Jewish refugees that settled mainly in the Ottoman Empire around the Mediterranean Sea and the Balkans.

Together with her brilliant ensemble she leads us to the world of Sephardi women and let us participate in a culture that has been displaced and repressed, but never forgotten.

Since the first expulsion of Jews from Israel, Jews always prayed and longed to return to Jerusalem, the city of God. One of them is known as GERUSH SEPHARAD - the expulsion of the Jews from Spain and Portugal at the end of the 15th century.
