Editorial Reviews
Learn the Buddhist Gongyo mantras with this Slow Gongyo recording. The correct pronunciation of the Nichiren Daishonin Gongyo can be an extremely difficult task. This audio presentation makes learning the Gongyo easier for new students of Buddhism, and also helps to solidify the existing techniques of more advanced students.
Three speeds allow students to progress at their own pace. Great for beginners learning about the practice of Buddhism. Practice the Gongyo phonetically at a speed suitable for students!
The Japanese word gongyo literally means "assiduous practice." Generally speaking it means to recite Buddhist sutras in front of an object of devotion. In the practice of Nichiren Buddhism it means reciting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, and part of the second chapter "Hoben" and the entire sixteenth "Juryo" chapter of the Lotus Sutra in front of the Gohonzon. This is the fundamental practice of Nichiren Buddhism, which is performed morning and evening.

This is awfully helpful to gongyo new comers.......2006-03-26
On the topic of the cover, I myself overlooked the sideways Gohonzon when I made the purchase. Then again, I'm a beginner and can be given the benefit of the doubt. I'm having trouble with why the producers still ship the product with the sideways Gohonzon if they have complaints?! I can't imagine that's good karma.
forbidden.......2006-03-13
placing it as a cover is blasfemi, by the way the it is not in the rigth position but I guest the producer of this did it on purpose, I feel ofended and angry to display a sacred scroll that only true practicing budhist posses in their homes for their faith, thier practice, and a simbol of their belive
