In 1991 Garth Brooks did what no other country artist before had: he broke the million-seller mark with No Fences and solidified a string of No. 1 hits that also conquered the pop market. Fourteen of his No. 1s are here, including the rowdy working-class anthem "Friends in Low Places" and the signature power ballad "The Dance." All of Brooks's albums have their share of filler, but not this one. Even the toughest cynic will admire Brooks's charisma and deadly mastery of pop and country hooks. --Roy KastenCustomer Reviews:

For those of us who listen to Country Music , with the exception of maybe one or two more songs , this Collection is FANTASTIC!
The Master Of Self-Promotion.......2007-01-03
Starting with the album, "Ropin' The Wind," Brooks began to crank out commercially successful, yet lyrically insignificant songs like "American Honky-Tonk Bar Association" and "Rodeo." He managed to fire off a couple of solid, meaningful songs like "Standing Outside The Fire" and "River," but most of his songs were fluff like "Ain't Goin' Down (Till The Sun Comes Up."
All of the aforementioned songs are available on "The Hits." It, much like every album after his first two, was also created to generate high, fast, and record-setting sales marks by having it put out in limited release. However, it's a very significant album in Country music history since it catalogs the first half of a career full of great promise (songs like "The Dance") and a huge ego (the forced-upon social tune, "We Shall Be Free"). It also signalled a turning point in Brooks' career with the release of even heavier commercial works such as "Fresh Horses" and "Sevens" after "The Hits" hit the store shelves.
Brooks' ego finally caught up with him with the abysmal "Chris Gaines" era. He suffered a huge commercial blow due to this experiment and he has never regained his status as a commercial star. However, this knock to the ego did result in the decent "Scarecrow" album, yet nothing has added up to the success of his pre-"The Hits" albums.
Brooks forever changed the face of Country music. He helped expose the world outside of Country music to great neo-traditional artists such as Alan Jackson and Vince Gill. He also helped pave the way for fluff acts like Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney, who've managed to master Brooks' old formula of self-promotion.
From a blah cover like "Shameless" to a wonderful cover of "Callin' Baton Rouge," and every original hit and miss in between, "The Hits" is a crucial album to Country music history since it is a gathering of the best and worst of a true Country "performer" who single-handedly saved and destroyed real Country music.

The King Of Music!.......2006-01-14
If you can pick up a copy of "The Hit's" and haven't got his first five albums, then it may be well worth it, however copies are now selling for up to $100 to collectors, so it might be better off just buying his first five CD's, which are Garth Brooks (1989), No Fences (1990), Ropin' The Wind (1991), The Chase (1992) and In Pieces (1993), all of which are classic albums.
After you get them (or this hit's collection) and find yourself wanting more Garth, get Fresh Horses (1995) and Sevens (1997), Garth also has two Christmas albums, "Beyond The Season" and "The Magic Of Christmas", that are also worth getting.
My favorite Garth songs, at least from this hit's collection, are "Friends In Low Places", "Standing Outside The Fire", "American Honky Tonk Bar Association" and "The River".
Garth brought a new edge to country throughout the '90s, with a great live show and pop-rock influences, but he never forgot his home.
Another stand out cut is the gospel-folk tinged "We Shall Be Free", which is an even better statement that John Lennon's "Imagine".
This is the greatest of greatest hit's albums!

Is there a more dependable hit-making duo in music than Brooks & Dunn? Not likely. Since their debut album in 1991, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn--two middling solo artists who turned out to be dynamite once paired together by a savvy record executive--have charted consistently with songs of various tempos and temperaments. There's smooth pop (a cover of the '70s rock hit "My Maria"), hard-charging honky-tonk ("Hard Workin' Man"), thoughtful ballads ("She Used to Be Mine"), and the line-dancing craze's very own Rosetta stone ("Boot Scootin' Boogie"). The Greatest Hits Collection gathers 16 of the duo's best-known songs, plus three new tracks, "Honky Tonk Truth," "He's Got You," and "Days of Thunder." --Daniel DurchholzCustomer Reviews:

Track 16 Mama Don't Get Dressed Up For Nothing is a messy bore, and that`s it folks. Track 17 My next broken heart is in the "bakersfield tradition" but sound`s like poor man`s "Dwight Yoakam" and that`s not a quality mark, but glimmers here and there, but that`s not enough. Track 18 Whiskey under the bridge, is more in the same tradition but it`s more uptempo beat, which works ok all trough. Drinkin``
good song. Track 19 Little missy honky tonk closed the show, and is one of the best tracks, which has classical honky tonk ingredients, and a pumping thumping piano playin here and there which lifts it solid above average. Anyways this is simple and straight well done country music.

"Boot Scootin' Boogie" zoomed Brooks & Dunn to the top of the country line-dance craze in 1992, and one could hardly blame them for riding the crest, even if it left them in a rut of shallow, preening dance ditties. They began showing greater depth in the late '90s, with albums like If You See Her and Steers and Stripes. While Hillbilly Deluxe is musically consistent, Tony Brown's production sharp and focused throughout, the themes here revert to the same old same old: empty, shallow stompers with lyrics that occasionally sound dated. "Play Something Country," another Ronnie Dunn collaboration with Terry McBride, duly name-drops current Nashville stars as well as P. Diddy and Patsy Cline. Things don't improve with the blustery "She Likes to Get Out of Town"; "Just Another Neon Night," with its painfully clichéd line "turn off that rap, boys, play me some Haggard"; or "Building Bridges," a "vocal event" with superfluous input from Vince Gill and Sheryl Crow. Only the moving story-song "Believe," brimming with heart and honesty, reminds of their potential when they think beyond the boot. --Rich KienzleAlbum Description
Since bursting onto the roiling country music horizon with "Brand New Man," Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks have made breaking new ground, pushing the honky tonk envelope and having too much fun doing it their total mandate. And on August 30, 2005, the hardcore musicians return with Hillbilly Deluxe, an album that merges classic jukebox country with Brooks & Dunn's jacked-up take on modern sounds in honky'n'rocking music. Produced by the legendary Tony Brown (Steve Earle, George Strait, Lyle Lovett, and Patty Loveless, in addition to being a member of the multiple-Grammy-nominated Notorious Cherry Bombs with Rodney Crowell and Vince Gill), Hillbilly Deluxe is a slightly ragged, fairly organic take on just how power and accessibility can merge for an intoxicating take on what Saturday night is made of. "You never wanna rest on what you've done," says Dunn. "Working with Tony, it's pure music--front and center every time. He was part of that country scene that was Emmylou and the Hot Band, which was always just one match away from blowing the music apart it was so good, so intense, but also so raw. If you're gonna play country, you wanna strip away a lot of the stuff, get down to the heart of the matter--and find songs that dig a little deeper into the way these folks live their lives. I mean, Hillbilly Deluxe is IT: it's about how it really is, not the way the media paints it--that notion of taking the life as far out as we know these good ole boys and girls do." Certainly "Play Something Country," the raving new single which is B&D's fastest moving ever, is a siren's song of want, release and what matters to the core on a night on the town, while the down-low title track with its funky pocket, Rolling Stones background wailing and stop-start rhythms portrays the essence of modern day "big timing in a small town." Brooks celebrates female independence with the road-tripping go-git-it-girl romp "She Likes to Get Out of Town" and Dunn invokes a classic tears-for-a-quarter country of classic vintage with "She's About as Lonely as I'm Going to Let Her Get." "With Red Dirt Road, I think we started heading back to what got us here... meaning our roots," confesses Brooks with a wry grin. "There are so many ways to make music, but sometimes just plugging straight into your inspirations is the very best way to go--so you'll hear 'em, ALL of 'EM: the Stones, Jones, Haggard, Tom Petty, a nod even to Rod Stewart's folkie stuff, the soul that made soul music, but came out of the churches. It may be the broadest record we've ever done--and it sure was fun."Customer Reviews:

Though it follows a standard movie formula and predictable plot twists, the film Hope Floats is saved in part by the above-average performance of Sandra Bullock, portraying a separated woman who finds her way back to her hometown in Texas, daughter in tow. The soundtrack seems to follow in due course, a collection of country and rock (thanks to the Rolling Stones) acts adding shades of twang to songs that, for the most part, all sound fairly familiar. The duds of the bunch, Bryan Adams's "When You Love Someone" and Sheryl Crow's "In Need," are saved in large part by some surprise keepers, courtesy of Garth Brooks, the Mavericks, and Gillian Welch. The covers are interesting enough. Brooks's take on Dylan's "To Make You Feel My Love" is modest and pithy and a far cry from the overblown Trisha Yearwood performance of the same tune that codas the collection. --Jason VerlindeCustomer Reviews:

Garth Brooks's obvious inspirations for Double Live were all those 1970s double-album concert recordings from album-oriented-rock influences such as Bob Seger, Kiss, and Peter Frampton. The difference between those classic-rock sets and this one is that Live Bullet, Alive and Frampton Comes Alive all helped to rescue their respective artists from virtual obscurity. Coming as they did from still largely unknown commodities, they seemingly promised nothing yet delivered everything. Already a superstar, Brooks merely promises more of the same on Double Live. He delivers, too. "You guys already know what's coming, don't you?" he asks at one point. "And you know what? You're right." Loaded with 22 hits (and three new tunes) recorded in any number of unnamed cities (and studios, too) over the past seven years, Double Live finds Brooks exaggerating his most irritating tics--the Wynnona-ish growls, the ridiculously elastic twang--in the process ruining even his finest songs. Still, even those convinced that Brooks is the Garth Vader of country music will be brought to pause as tens of thousands of admiring fans sing earnestly along to "The Dance" or "Unanswered Prayers," and scream their way through the anthem "Friends in Low Places." (Please note: You may receive any one of the album's six different covers.) --David CantwellCustomer Reviews:
Crass Product, Brooks becomes a sell out.......2007-04-22
The real reason why he was doing this? Because he was chasing The Beatles' record of moving the most units and records of any band in the world to become the biggest selling musical artist ever. He had already shattered Billy Joel's status as most popular male vocalist ever according to record sales. Because each disc counted for one unit, this box set would help him greatly in that chase to topple The Beatles, though this would be done only by inflated sales totals. That is what a sellout Brooks became.
Despite the rather dubious intentions of Garth's first box set, nowhere else does Brooks so blatantly sound like he's selling product. From the unimaginative title (DOUBLE LIVE, which is exactly what it is), to the various hodge podge of different songs from different concerts (none of the performances are dated or noted what concert they are drawn from), to the uninspired set list, Brooks just sounds like he's not playing the music because he loves it or it documents a historic, well known performance, but because he knows anything he puts out will sell. DOUBLE LIVE sounds like patchwork, because it is not a real concert, but rather assembled from various dates and venues.
Most great live albums give us a rather idiosyncratic tour of the respective artist's catalogue. DOUBLE LIVE doesn't do that, or examine some of the lesser known songs of Brooks' catalogue. Rather, it plays exactly like a greatest hits album, only with live tracks, and sounds like Brooks was trying to sequence the record like a fantasy concert where you only hear the songs you want, or more likely when a causal fan is looking at it in Wal-Mart (because he won't sell it anywhere else), the fan realises it has all the songs he knows on the radio so he know it must be good.
Like most other greatest hits packages (which is really all this album is, albeit live), DOUBLE LIVE also includes three new cuts, to entice the Garth Brooks completest (sad that there is such a thing) out to buy this album.
Everything is professional and played to perfection - to the point where it is distracting. In the rush of great performances, occasionally things are out of tune, mistakes are made, etc, but a great concert can overcome these difficulties and still retain the emotional and powerful elements of the music. Not so here. Everything is so polished, and there are a few moments that one suspects studio overdubbing on the original live tapes. Actually, in several songs there is quite clearly studio work done.
In another effort to move more units in pursuit of overthrowing The Beatles (sorry Garth, they will always be much cooler than you), Garth Brooks also put the album out with six different covers, so the `collectors' will try to purchase all six editions.
Even during some of the songs, Brooks acknowledges it is just product. As noted in the Amazon editorial, Brooks says to the audience at one point that they know what's coming. During the live version of "The Thunder Rolls", he asks what a double live album would be without the missing verse of "Thunder Rolls", and then goes on to sing it.
For all that, DOUBLE LIVE is entertaining, and I can see why people enjoy it. But ultimately the songs on the live album don't really differ from the album version that much. That just makes the live album boring. The most entertaining thing Garth Brooks did during the late 1990s was record the, admittedly misguided and confusing, ... IN THE LIFE OF CHRIS GAINS. There he is entertaining his rock and roll fantasies, and while it's not the greatest music around, it is one of his most bizarrely fascinating records.
What is really offensive is Brooks' business tactics. Brooks' underhanded, sleight of hand pursuit of chasing The Beatles' record with inflated sales total, and feeling he is just trying to sell product, not make great music, makes DOUBLE LIVE give a very sour taste for knowing listener.
Bottom line: it's a decent sounding record (it should be, with all the studio overdubs), but give this one a miss. The Beatles got their status as best-selling artist of all time because they're fantastic musicians and rock and roll royalty. They did it by making great music, not by cheap marketing, making blatant product, or trying to artificially inflate their sales totals.

Anyone who is still clueless about what a great singer Ronnie Dunn is need only grab this second greatest-hits package from Brooks & Dunn, a 17-song compilation that skims the commercial high points from the duo's 1998-2004 period. Dunn, the quintessential balladeer, soars on honky-tonk laments and reminiscences like "Red Dirt Road" and "How Long Gone," and on full-throated romantic plaints like "That's What She Gets for Loving Me" and "It's Getting Better All the Time." His sidekick, the underrated guitarist, utility singer, and all-around dynamo Kix Brooks, also gets his moment to shine on a marvelous '60s-style, 18-wheeler ditty called "Independent Trucker," one of three new cuts included here. --Bob AllenCustomer Reviews:

Brooks's third album, 1991's Ropin' the Wind, found him distancing himself further from the new-traditionalist hat-pack. The album's centerpiece was an all-stops-out Southern-rock cover of Billy Joel's "Shameless." Another hit single, "Rodeo," boasted a slinky Creedence-style groove. Brooks's propensity for sentimental folk-pop clichés surfaced on the ballads "What She's Doing Now" and "The River." But "We Bury the Hatchet" and "Papa Loved Mama" were tongue-in-cheek attempts at honky-tonk and truck-drivin' boogie. While Brooks subsequently has been criticized for putting a cowboy hat atop rock & roll and calling it country, these tracks sound more like vintage Ernest Tubb next to some of today's Nashville Pop-tarts. --Rick MitchellCustomer Reviews:

"You know a dream is like a river.".......2005-12-30
Garth pulled five hits from "Ropin' the Wind," starting with the ramped up "Rodeo." The single did fairly well, peaking at #3 on the country chart, although it ended Garth's string of five #1 songs. Up next was the pop-rock `Shameless" - a remake of a Billy Joel song from "Storm Front." The song hit #1 for two weeks and became a fan favorite at Garth's concerts. The third single was the biggest - the rich and smooth ballad "What She's Doing Now" (#1 for 3 weeks). Garth's voice has never sounded better than it does here. The most countrified song was released next: the playful "Papa Loved Mama" (#3). It was one of my favorites at the time, although it sounds a bit forced now.
The final single was "The River" (#1 for 1 week). The song perfectly encapsulated Garth's gradual turn from traditional country to the more adult contemporary sound in which he would subsequently specialize. The song would fit nicely on any James Taylor CD, or maybe even something by Dan Fogelberg. It's not a bad song, but it's rather tame and feels like 80s pop. Although the CD is glossier than his prior releases, it's top-notch all the way - it WAS country music at the time. I have all of Garth's CDs; "Ropin' the Wind" is his last CD with a more a more traditional country feel and not coincidentally also his last release that really enthralled me.
Another classic from Garth.......2005-08-31
The six tracks that featured on the hits collection have some interesting stories. One of them (Burning bridges) became a Spanish hit. Another (Shameless) is a cover of a Billy Joel song that Garth recorded only after he learned that Billy wasn't going to release his own version as a single One of Garth's favorite songs here (Rodeo) began life in the early eighties as a slightly different song titled Miss Rodeo, intended for a female singe. None recorded it so Garth eventually recorded it with modified title and lyrics. Garth co-wrote a song (What he's doing now) for Crystal Gayle - it appeared on one of her albums (Ain't gonna worry) - before recording his own version with a gender-adapted title (What she's doing now) and lyrics. Perhaps the best song here (The river) is a song that Garth co-wrote with the brilliant but very under-appreciated Victoria Shaw, whose own albums never sold well enough to establish her own career as a singer. The other song to make the hits collection (Papa loves Mama) is just a fun song but it is superbly performed.
Of the tracks that didn't make the hits compilation, the opening track (Against the grain) is a brilliant up-tempo song that was surely considered for single release. There is an amusing song (We bury the hatchet) about problems with the neighbors. There's a very cleverly worded song (Cold shoulder) about the loneliness of a long-distance trucker - if you're not paying attention, you might think it's Garth's partner that has given him the cold shoulder - then again, perhaps she has. Garth also sings a wild west story (In lonesome dove).
This is an outstanding album from Garth. If you lovre Garth's music, you are likely to enjoy this album.
Most Underrated Garth Album.......2005-07-18
But what makes me declare this album worthwhile is not any of the hits but rather Garth Brook's greatest song he ever wrote and greatest song he ever sang: "In Lonesome Dove." It is a true country song and the lyrics are pure genius. There are few songs that I really, really, just love. "Love, Me" by Collin Raye is the best song ever, but this is in the top 25. Too bad it was never released so that it could earn its deserved respect.
This album is worth the purchase if you don't have it and you like Garth Brooks. Do not buy it if you do not like Garth; that song will not change your opinion.

No Fences captures Garth Brooks just after his initial success yet before superstardom. Though it includes "The Thunder Rolls," another of the pop-country power ballads he'd introduced with "The Dance," No Fences bounces mainly between impersonations--often catchy and engaging ones, but impersonations nonetheless. "Wild Horses" is straight-up George Strait, while "Two of a Kind" and "Friends in Low Places" are John Anderson and Hank Jr. respectively. The best moment, the Dan Fogleberg-like "Unanswered Prayers," relays a message either highly spiritual or hugely rationalized. Regardless, it succeeds because its delivery is earnest, sweet, and humble--something Garth wouldn't be for long. --David CantwellCustomer Reviews:

Isn't that what life's all about? Do a little memory dance through life, pat your wife on the head for being a good sport, and keep truckin until the next stop? What an ego! I am asking, because I am not as old as him yet, and I am still trying to learn.
His ex-wife may not be a glamorous singer, but she must be an amazing woman to devote her life towards his happiness.
I guess Hollywood will make a movie soon, and try to make her look evil or something.
Review: Garth Brooks, No Fences.......2005-09-13
While there is no question that Garth is a country artist (in fact many consider him to be THE country artist), he also tries to tie in other sounds from other genres into his music. This is evident in his number #1 single of all time, "Friends in Low Places". He combines his tried and true county sound with a lead guitar, piano, and a violin to create a catchy tune that almost anyone can enjoy.
The main reason Garth is as big an artist as he is because of his voice. He can make you cry and be overjoyed all with his voice in a matter of minutes. The song "Unanswered Prayers" is about how lucky he was to have his initial prayers of love unanswered, because it lead to him finding true love and his wife. While listening to the song, you cannot help but feel the passion that he does while he sings.
Garth wins friends in many places.......2005-07-08
The four big American hits are The thunder rolls, Two of a kind working on a full house, Friends in low places and Unanswered prayers. None of these songs made the UK charts. Garth was unable to reproduce his American success in Britain although he eventually made the UK top twenty with a song from a later album. Friends in low places is a classic lightweight drinking song that Mark Chesnutt recorded at around the same time. More dramatic and equally brilliant is The thunder rolls, about a woman waiting for a man to come home safely during a stormy night - he does but she realizes that he's been cheating. Another classic is Unanswered prayers, in which Garth shows his gratitude for not having his old prayers answered, preferring his wife to an old flame. Sadly, Garth and his wife eventually went their separate ways some years later. Two of a kind working on a full house uses a poker game analogy to describe a couple in love although it makes no mention of a family, which you might expect from the title
Quite apart from the hits, there are other great songs here including New way to fly (about people looking for love that lasts), Victim of the game (about cheating), Wild horses (about a man's love of rodeo), Same old story (about a one-sided love), Mr Blue (a cover of a fifties pop song) and Wolves (about rural hardship - this song is by the brilliant but obscure singer-songwriter Stephanie Davis).
If you enjoy Garth's music, you should definitely buy this album, which is a classic.
Garth's Best .......2005-07-02
That said, No Fences is the best Garth album (of the first 5 he released; after that, I refused to bother giving a listen). That is so, I think, because, as David Cantwell says, the album is slightly more mature than the debut album but before the massive superstardom that allowed Garth to indulge all his apparently bad taste.
Even when he records something that in the hands of a real Country singer who exudes character, such as 'Friends in Low Places,' could be quite interesting, an astute listener will see in his mind's eye a picture of a freshly scrubbbed Mama's Boy donned with cowboy hat (like PB&J eating Leon on Andy Griffith) doing his best to sound tough and independant like his older brother, convincing only those who either wish to be duped or don't know any better.
Avoid this pop-Country tripe and purchase something worth hearing.

Nashville hacks singing for faux-patriotism.......2005-12-23
What do these artists have in common? Cutting edge musical geniuses? Gifted songwriters able to speak to a wide range of audiences? Innovators in their genre?
Err, no.
Actually what they all have in common is that they all appear on this package, created to commercially exploit the war on terrorism, one which contains songs like Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly, This Ain't No Rag, It's A Flag, and Back Where I Come From. In other words, maudlin, xenophobic, cliche filled, black/white dichotomous sentiments, and the lack of any attempt at rational or questioning political analysis, all set to fiddles and pedal steel guitars, and to be marketed and sold at Wal-Mart. I should add that I am not against patriotism, when it is intelligent and well informed; this, however, is dumb, reactionary faux-patriotism. Nothing is more so than the song God Bless the USA. As an American who loves his country, I can say that this song, with its syrupy sound and its naive lyrics, does not speak for me.
I listened to a bit of this schlock on a plane ride a while back just to see how much of it I could take. The answer was - not very much. What little I could take made me want to drink, and heavily.
Some of these performers, specifically Brooks and Dunn, Randy Travis, Charlie Daniels, and perhaps Kenny Chesney and even (I hate to admit) Toby Keith are actually fairly talented; others, like former lounge singer Lee Greenwood, Alabama, Montgomery Gentry, etc, are 3rd rate musical hacks.
Ultimately, listening to this nonsense, I'm reminded that some of the greats of the genre, like Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, George Jones, and Willie Nelson were neither knee-jerk
reactionaries nor apologists for a ruling political party. Then again, Dusty Drake, Montgomery Gentry, and Blackhawk are no Johnny Cashes. Just Nashville hacks, soon to be forgotten.
Great CD.......2005-08-21
NOTE: Most of the bad reviews below have to more with politics than music. These folks probably have never listened to all the songs let alone actually buying the CD.
To to a kids review.......2005-07-31
I'll tell you I'm a kid (age 16) and some don't want to use their real name because this is the internet, not real life. If you knew my name or the original reviewer's real name, would that make any difference? Anywa, you say since a reviewer doesn't use their real name, they are a terrorist? Very intelligent.
"If your home is destroyed by someone, you are not going to look for the people or person involved. No you are going to the proper authorities and they will handle it.
That is what happened here. We were attacked and the proper authorities are handling the situation."
We were not attacked by Iraq and the proper authorities are not handling the situation. We attacked Afghanistan, but Iraq has nothing to do with this.
"Look I am all for freedom for imagrant's but they took it to far with the attacks. Living in our country, working here, becoming friendly with the neighborhoods and gaining the trust of everyone around just to destroy part of the country you love (so you say) is just something that cannot be tolerated. At least we had the guts to tell them we were coming. You should be thankful that you have a country who is willing to protect you and your family. "
So you think it's immigrants fault that we were attacked? And you call yourself an American? You should be blind to race and country of origin, we are all Americans here. The country of Afghanistan attacked us and we went after them, that has nothing to do with immigrants.
"Right after 9/11 happened EVERYONE was togther as a whole to make sure the people behind this act of cowardly violence (kind of like the way you wrote your rewiew) and any kind of terroristic threats on U.S.A. would never happen again. But I guess for some of you people that was just like hopping on the band wagon for a short period of time."
It was not cowardly violence. In a war you strive to kill the most enemies you can. I would only Hope the US would strive to kill or detain as many terrorists as they can just as their target was civilians. Whatever you say, suicide bombings are not cowardly, they are actually pretty effective. Find me a US citizen willing to fly a plane into a building full of terrorists to kill our enemies.
"It's not a matter of what song's are good to listen to and what songs aren't. It's about a bunch of people who support the country (they love) so they can feel safe to go shopping, go to work or just go for a walk and not have to worry about some idiot flying a couple of planes into some building's or into the ground and never see their loved ones or the light of day ever again."
Ah, back to the actual review of the CD, which you have made a minor detail. I don't care about what these singers support, I care about their music. I care about what politicians support, and how singers sing. I happen to like many of the songs on the CD, but I didn't buy it because I own many of the songs already.
"How can you say you love something if you are going to let it get hurt and not try to justify the situation. I feel sorry for the people in your life."
Well more people are in car crashes every year than were in the WTC during 9/11, so you should be pushing for safety in cars. How can you say you love something if you are going to let it get hurt and not try to justify the situation? Of course you are a very effective tool of the terrorists, the typical American scared out of his pants when a building goes down, scared to shop, when you are in more danger driving your car. We have killed over 10 times the ammount of CIVILIANS in Iraq (nothing to do with 9/11) than the 9/11 attacks killed. Of course I'm sure they aren't people to you.
But back to the CD, I am really thinking about buying it mainly just for "Hey Mr. President" and I'm dissapointed they didn't put it on another CD, I love the song and the Warren Brothers.
Most of the songs are really great, although "God Bless The USA" was overplayed and I used to love it, but now I'm just tired of it. All of these songs are great, although some don't even seem to be patriotic. But that doesn't matter to me, because great music is great music, which is worth buying.
