5 out of 5 stars Terrific Album.......2007-01-12

Bluegrass and gospel fans alike will love this album. The musicianship, as always, is second to none.

5 out of 5 stars Inspirational.......2006-02-04

'Wondrous Love' is a truly inspirational CD. This album is so well produced, clean and warm.

I recommend it to anyone who is into Stainglass Bluegrass or not.

One of my favorite albums!

5 out of 5 stars Wondrous Love.......2006-01-17

Best new bluegrass CD in several years. Really tight harmonies, superb vocal range, great music. The best!

5 out of 5 stars Blue Highway delivers some Heavenly Bluegrass Gospel.......2004-08-16

Stafford, Ickes, Lane, Taylor and Burleson turn their considerable talents to this all-gospel collection. Any band would consider themselves lucky to have a lead vocalist as gifted as Shawn Lane, Wayne Taylor or Tim Stafford, and by having all three Blue Highway has the luxury of having great lead vocals, fantastic harmonies, plus variety. Instrumentally there are less than a handful of bands with the virtuosity of these guys.

Protestantism is the unofficial religion of Bluegrass and most bands since the original Bill Monroe and His Bluegrass Boys have incorporated Gospel into their repertoire. (Many like the Lewis Family or Isaacs have worked professionally for years playing Gospel Bluegrass exclusively.)

This disc includes a good deal of variety within the genre. "Wondrous Love" opens the set with a soulful acapella arrangement that builds and builds (with addition of guest vocalist Alan O'Bryant from the Nashville Bluegrass Band) to a Steeple-Shaking climax. "Wicked Path of Sin" follows Monroe's original arrangement closely and Shawn Lane's soaring tenor is even easier on the ear than Monroe's. "Seven Sundays in a Row" is a ballad from the sub-genre of the "former wild-child who has become saved and now is keeping the faith" along the lines of "The Baptism of Jesse Taylor", and Wayne's soulful lead carries the tune well. Wayne does a fine rendition of the traditional "Old Brush Arbors" also. Tim Stafford contributes the bluesy "Ground Is Level at the Foot of the Cross" and the disc ends showcasing dobro-wiz Rob Ickes on "The Old Rugged Cross" in a non-traditional arrangement and chord progression that both honors and updates this old favorite.

5 out of 5 stars The best gospel recording of the year!.......2003-08-05

Listen to the title cut "Wondrous Love" and if you don't get a chill check your pulse! This CD is filled with innovative, original material. There are no "throw away" songs on the entire CD. Blue Highway is known for their superior instrumentation and great vocalizations and this recording is no exception! If you are new to bluegrass pick up any of their recordings and you won't be disappointed. Wondrous Love gets my vote as the best recording this year!

Outstanding CD! Listened to it over and over. First time I've heard Angela Strehli. She is fantastic! I've had the pleasure of hearing and seeing Marsha Ball on Delbert McClinton's annual Blues Cruise and really enjoyed her and Maria Muldar singing Blue Highway on this CD.

4 out of 5 stars A phenomenal album.......2007-01-10

This is a really unique and strong album, really breaks through to a new level on some songs, especially title cut. However i don't give it a "5 star" rating because some of the songs seem to me like filler material...

4 out of 5 stars Bluegrass Lives in Marbletown.......2007-01-09

The spirit is that of Bluegrass, as is the execution. The voices blend and the skill of the instrumentalists considerable. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

4 out of 5 stars Sweet!.......2006-04-22

Tim Stafford and the guys have done it this time. I've been around blue/newgrass for 30 some odd years and play guitar and banjo myself. I was familiar with this band but never paid too close attention until the Dallas radio station where I worked started putting this cd into rotation. I ordered it to get a closer listen. Now I can't get the songs out of my head!!

Incredible writing, great harmonies and great resophonic guitar here! Get it, it's good...

5 out of 5 stars hot bluegrass.......2005-06-23

let me tell you, this is some hot bluegrass. these guys find ways to be creative with the classic licks and encompass modern songs into the bluegrass style. there are few bands that i know i'm always going to get a cd with innovation and drive. blue highway is one of them.

5 out of 5 stars Best Yet!.......2005-06-18

I can't improve on Mark Fowler's review, only add my hearty "AMEN." It seemed necessary to include my opinion to counter the ridiculous 2-star review of this CD. My favorites on this disc are too numerous to list, they're ALL SO GOOD. These guys are impeccable instrumentalists and vocalists with some of the most soul stirring harmonies one could ever hope to hear. But it's not just sterile, flawless technique. The music has heart. Their songwriting continues to be inspired. It's about time Blue Highway got more of the attention that they deserve.

2 out of 5 stars Quantity Over Quality.......2007-01-15

As a musician myself, I know too well that one of the most important ingredients in ANY performance (live or recorded) is passion. The recordings here generally lack the same passion and sheer drama of the originals. Much of the instrumentation has been reduced to a cheezy, thin, plastic synthesized replica. The performances are simply a watered-down lackluster version of the classic originals. If it were not for the sheer volume of tracks compiled here, I would have rated the comp only "one star".

3 out of 5 stars Mediocre.......2006-05-17

The sound quality for this collection isn't much better than the samples offered by Amazon.

4 out of 5 stars One Hundred Greatest TV Themes.......2005-08-06

I have watched almost all the shows that are on these 4 cd's. Many were made before I started watching TV. Most I've seen once or twice before.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty close to original recordings.......2005-07-24

Definitely not as good as the originals. You'll probably notice the slight differences since it's stuff you saw and listened to every week or everyday in reruns growing up, but it's still an amazing collection.

5 out of 5 stars Really Good Collection.......2004-07-11

I bought this in part because it had soundtracks to tv shows that are unavailable. My husband and I watch aome British programming. Many of the theme songs are for what seems like obscure British shows. That said; it has been enjoyable to hear music that I would normally never hear. Some music does sound tinny; some are very very rich, and some music is derived from actual preformances from the original artists. I think this is worth buying because is has a wonderful blend of music. The pieces are full soundtracks so they includes the parts of the theme song which are often edited out. I think the orchestra's who preformed the music did a great job. I have MonsterMania which redoes the soundtracks to the Godzilla movies. The interpretation is less heavy and stark than the preformance we associate with the original soundtrack; but I regard it as a new way to appreciate the music and all the componets which make the song unique.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The Gentlemen of Southern Rock in Concert.......2001-02-10

I consider three 1970's groups (Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers Band, and The Doobie Brothers) the originators of Southern rock. The Doobie Brothers were the gentlemen of Southern rock. These gentlemen's personalities shine in "Rockin' Down The Highway: The Wildlife Concert", a recording of an extremely fun, happy, and energetic 1996 concert for the Wildlife Conservation Society. The Doobie Brothers' support for the Wildlife Conservation Society is appropriate. Nearly twenty-five years after their first recording, The Doobie Brothers still are rockin' down the highway and their wild life continues. That's an extremely long playing record!

This excellent recording presents The Doobie Brothers' lyrics more clearly than some of their studio recordings. Two selections: 'China Grove' (with its outstanding guitar solos) and 'Listen To The Music' (a great concert arrangement) are examples of Southern rock's best. Another 8 selections are particularly outstanding. 'Take Me In Your Arms (Rock Me A Little While)', 'Minute By Minute', and 'What A Fool Believes' feature Michael McDonald's outstanding vocals. 'Takin' It To The Streets' features saxophone solos and Michael McDonald vocals. 'Slow Burn', 'The Doctor', & 'Without You' feature outstanding guitar solos. 'Excited' features vocal and guitar solos plus a rolling arrangement reminiscent of "The Lizzies" scene in the 1979 Michael Beck cult movie "The Warriors".

The Doobie Brothers have polished their artistry and style for over twenty-five years. That artistry and style shines in "Rockin' Down The Highway: The Wildlife Concert". I recommend this fun live recording both for Doobie Brothers fans and also for those unfamiliar with The Doobie Brothers' music.

3 out of 5 stars Only for the Doobie lovers.......2000-06-30

This is a great album for anyone who has not heard the Doobie Brothers before and wants to get to know the band. For anyone who has a lot of Doobie albums, this cd probably is not a good buy. The songs are simply recycled and there is no creative spin to make the cd unique. This cd is best for new fans or the Doobie obsessed.

4 out of 5 stars a music fan from Illionois.......2000-04-24

Saw the Doobies Labor Day 1999 at a festival. Found this CD to be on par with that concert. This CD captures all the musical excitement that a festival setting can give. I recommend this CD to any Doobies fan or fan of music from the 70's.

5 out of 5 stars A Must Have for Doobie Purists!.......1999-06-25

I have this CD and the video and I highly, highly recommend both for a look and a listen to one of America's greatest, cleanest sounding and most talented rock and roll bands, who provide grand doses of not only rock but also country, jazz and blues. Buy the CD for your stereo, and the video for your television. And share both with your children so they can learn and understand what great seventies rock and roll really is. Amazon offers great prices on both the CD and VHS (and NO, I don't work for them!) Guaranteed to please.

5 out of 5 stars A stunning collection of great tunes.......1999-02-10

Having been a Doobie Brothers fan for 20 plus years, it wasn't until 1990 that I saw them perform live. I have seen them 3 times since. I was convinced their onstage live energy couldn't be captured on "vinal" or CD. I was wrong. This is a terrific double album. Crystal clear sound, great selection of classic hits spanning the last 25 years.Even non touring ex-Doobie-Michael McDonald appears in several tunes (I guess there are no ex Doobies). Highly recommended!!!added for a few tunes.

Enlisting Jerry Douglas as producer, Blue Highway produce a convincing, straight-ahead bluegrass stride. Unlike in previous recordings, the quintet turns in an all-original set, and even if only the beaming title track and the animated "Union Man" sound like future campfire classics, the songwriting, notably by guitarist Tim Stafford, is never stilted and always melodically memorable. But the lasting pleasures of the band's Rounder debut owe mostly to the members' versatile musicianship. On the playful, self-penned "Monrobro," Rob Ickes's Dobro licks have the tasteful unpredictability of those from masters such as Douglas, while the lucid harmonies on gospel numbers like "Mountain of the Lord" place Blue Highway near the forefront of contemporary bluegrass singing. --Roy Kasten

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars One of the Best in Bluegrass Today.......2006-12-23

During a visit to Seattle a few months ago, I was browsing in Holy Cow Records in the Pike Place Market and happened to come across this disc. At, first, I was attracted to the pretty cool album cover design, but as I looked through the liner notes I decided to give it a try. This record totally blew me away- I've been a longtime fan of Allison Krauss & US, John Hartford, etc. and Blue HIghway is certainly in the same league. Most suprising (as other reviewers have noted) is that "Still Climbing Mountains" is all original music and is proof that the members of Blue Highway are great songwriters as well as great musicians. Standout tracks are the title cut, "Only A Thought Away", and the impressive fiddle work on "Uncle Fred". This is by far one of the best blugrass recordings of the '00s.

5 out of 5 stars Sneaky Good!.......2003-12-03

I had been a bluegrass fan for many years when a friend of mine bought this album for me. I was a little skeptical at first and really didn't give the album a chance. However, after listening to it several times I realized that I had a true classic on my hands.

Blue Highway is an excellent band vocally and musically with powerful original tunes on such terrific tracks as "Still Climbing Mountains", "Union Man", and "Riding the Danville Pike". They aren't as edgy as Del McCoury, but with their smooth vocals and lucid picking you'll find yourself enjoying high quality bluegrass with echoes of the great performers of the past. Don't get me wrong, they can play a burner every now and then too!

It's enough to make you wonder why country radio plays the standard studio musician plus big name vocalist formula anymore when there are bands this talented running around the United States.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best.......2002-11-26

I just got to see these guys on 11-15-02 in Louisville, Ky. They were 2nd on the bill with Rhonda Vincent and the Rage. Blue Highway was the reason that I went to the concert, though. I had heard Midnight Storm and loved it! They performed several of the songs on Still Climbing Mountains at the concert and I bought the CD there that night listening to it on the way home. It's as good as, or better than, Midnight Storm and these guys are great. Unlike most bluegrass recordings, this CD's material is ALL ORIGINAL! Tim Stafford (guitar and vocals), Wayne Taylor (bass and vocals), and Shawn Lane (mandolin, fiddle, and vocals), are among the best songwriters and singers in the business. So smooth and blending so well. The vocals, the playing, Rob Ickes and that dobro. Cut #2, Monrobro, written by Ickes, showcases his talent and writing ability on a tune dedicated to Bill Monroe. And don't overlook Jason Burleson and that driving banjo. Just listen to Riding the Danville Pike or Buck Hill, which was written by Jason, for a taste of his talent. There's also a couple of great gospel songs in Mountain of the Lord, by Stafford, and Seventh Angel, by Lane. The only thing I miss on this particular CD is that there's no "a cappela" numbers. This in no way, though, detracts from the greatness of this disk. Blue Highway is quite the Bluegrass band!!

5 out of 5 stars THEY'VE DONE IT AGAIN!.......2002-05-05

Once again Blue Highway has put out a very strong recording. Again and again these guys hit home with classic bluegrass material. This effort is a bit different because all of the songs were written by the band. And it stands side by side with their previous projects. Once again, above the bar of most bluegrass bands.

Song after song shows the bands virtuosity. Their harmonies are tight, their instrumentation and timing are right on. This is a band full of individuals who are all stars in their own right but realize that the sum of the band is greater than the indiviudal parts. They work together well and enjoy playing together (obvious if you see them on stage).

There are many outstanding songs on this album, one after another they provide listening enjoyment. But in my opinion they saved the best for last. It is very seldem that a song hits me deep enough to make my cry but "Goodbye For A While" hit a nerve deep inside me. Shawn Lane's voice, in my opinion, is one of the best in bluegrass and I love his vocals. Tim Stafford and Wayne Taylor are fine lead singers in their own right and all three are adept at harmonies.

If you want to know where bluegrass is at today and where it is heading. Pick up this Blue Highway CD.

5 out of 5 stars A CD that you'll wear out...if that's even possible.......2002-02-11

I had never even listened to Blue Highway before buying this disc. I had bought everything Alison Krauss&Union Station mates had put out, and I was looking for something fresh and catchy...and boy did I find it! This album has not one song that you'll be skipping. Every song on the album is written by members of the band, and their excellent musicianship along with their tight harmonizing will surely hook you and make you call yourself a "Blue Highway Fan"...honestly.

Certainly extraordinary musicianship and electrifying vocals account for the lion's share of acclaim Blue Highway--comprised of esteemed former sidemen for greats like Doyle Lawson and Alison Krauss--earned with their first two albums. Yet it's apparent from listening to this, their third, that their vivid imagination and emotional depth as both songwriters and song choosers account for their music's haunting originality. There's nary a weak link in these 12 richly diverse and adventurous tracks, which were produced by Ricky Skaggs, but standouts include folk-inspired originals like the mournful "Clay and Ottie," the hard-driving "Born with a Hammer in My Hand," and a jaunty prison song called "Don't Come Out of the Hole." No less thrilling are Blue Highway's soulful adaptations of Dock Boggs's "Troubles Up and Down the Road" and Sting's "I Hung My Head," an eerie tale of casual murder and profound remorse. --Bob Allen

4 out of 5 stars Very Good But.......2002-05-15

Unfortunately a band of the caliber of Blue Highway is held to very high expectations. While this CD was very good it fell short of exceptional, can you call that a let down? I'm not sure that would be the correct term.

With highlights like "Born With A Hammer In My Hand", "Troubles Up And down The Road" and "That Could Be You" this Cd does hit chords. And who would expect a cover of a Sting song? "I Hung My Head" is a great song that Blue Highway adapts very well to bluegrass. Also thrown in the mix are great covers such as "Man Of Constant Sorrow".

This CD is very good and if you like Blue Highway you will enjoy it. But if you do not know Blue Highway I would suggest "Wind To The West", "It's a Long Long Road", or "Midnight Storm" as a better introduction.

5 out of 5 stars Best Bluegrass ever.......2001-09-13

This is the best group ever, and you think there good on the cd, check out their concerts. This cd does not have their original banjo player, but the guy they replaced him with is phenominal. If you like dobro or any slide guitar you love this group and cd. Every one of the musicians is amazing, and man can these boys sing. I believe this is the only album with this banjo player, the old one returned for their latest album, which is also amazing, just came out a couple days ago.

I'm not really fond of this CD. Personally, I wouldn't reccomend it. Buy Dolly Parton's "The Grass Is Blue" instead.

5 out of 5 stars Blue Highway.......2007-01-27

This is a terrific compilation of sides recorded by Blue Highway that appeared on 3 previous Rebel CDs (IT'S A LONG, LONG ROAD; MIDNIGHT STORM; and WIND TO THE WEST), all from the mid-late 1990s. Shawn Lane and Wayne Taylor share vocal leads, and their high-pitched stylings are attractive though not particularly powerful. The groups material is very appealing: songs such as HE WALKED ALL THE WAY HOME (inspired by the book/movie COLD MOUNTAIN perhaps?) and BEFORE THE COLD WIND BLOWS are interesting ballads that tell compelling stories. THE ROUNDER is about Jesse James and it and BETWEEN THE ROWS end abruptly with starltling (and good) effect. LONESOME PINE has a beautiful and haunting minor C section that is a highlight of the CD. There are also a couple of instrumentals included which reflect older mountain string band influences. This is a most enjoyable CD that makes this listener eager to check out the group's earlier releases in full.

"Lonesome Pine" is a collection of 3-5 cuts apiece from three Blue Highway albums on the Rebel label: It's A Long, Long Road (1995), Wind To The West (1996), Midnight Storm (1998). So this compilation of previously released material is a fine "Best of" retrospective for the band from Johnson City, Tennessee that performed its first gig on New Year's Eve in 1994. It's great to see internationally-renowned bluegrass groups as prolific as Blue Highway releasing projects with their best hits. Blue Highway's original lineup included Tim Stafford (guitar), Wayne Taylor (bass), Shawn Lane (mandolin/fiddle), Tony Brown (banjo/fiddle), and Rob Ickes (dobro). Brown doesn't appear on this album, as Jason Burleson took his place and plays banjo or mandolin on these cuts. In 1996, Blue Highway won IBMA awards for "Emerging Artist of the Year" and "Album of the Year" (for "It's a Long Long Road"). In 1997, they won the IBMA award for "Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year" for the song "God Moves in a Windstorm." I wish that song would've been included in this set of hits. In 1998, Burleson left the band and was replaced by Tom Adams who also doesn't appear in any of these cuts. Burleson returned to the band two years later.

Over the years, Blue Highway has carved out their own niche in bluegrass. Their musical vision has always incorporated accessible melodies, bright lyricism, and interesting dynamics. They can't go wrong with songs like "Blue Ridge Mountain Girl." Taylor's, Stafford's and Lane's songwriting abilities are showcased. Ickes and Burleson have also penned some groovy instrumentals, but none are included in this set. Instead, they choose the old-time "Cold Frost Morn" and rootsy "Flannery's Dream" for the instrumental offerings here. The band has a side with considerable emotional depth, with moving songs like "Some Day" and "Before the Cold Wind Blows." The former, arranged a cappella, shows clearly how splendid their vocalizing can be. The latter, along with the title cut, are both Wayne Taylor originals and are among the band's most requested numbers. Since this CD features previously released material, I wish that the producers would have given us just a bit more than a 43-minute set. I would have lobbied for inclusion of some other originals such as Taylor's "Keen Mountain Prison" and Stafford's "Find Me Out on a Mountain Top." Being from Oregon, I've always liked Stafford's song called "Clear Cut," another hit that isn't included here. Jack Tottle has contributed a fair amount of material to Blue Highway's repertoire, and I was glad that they included one of his to close the album.

No slouches on their instruments, the guys in the band are award winners. All told, they've released 6 albums, been nominated for a Grammy, topped the Bluegrass Unlimited chart, won a Dove Award and 11 IBMA awards (either as a band or individually). Blue Highway boasts an impressive track record as a contemporary bluegrass band. "Lonesome Pine" only tells part of the story with its documentation of the wave they rode in that time period from 1995-1998. All three of the individual albums sampled were given my highest marks in the past. However, being a compilation, I'm giving this CD a "B+" only because I simply think it should have included about 17 more minutes of their fine music. "Lonesome Pine" is a very good sampler and great introduction to their music. This 13-track reasonably-priced sampler could very well lead you to purchase all three of the albums from which the cuts are taken. (Joe Ross, staff writer, Bluegrass Now)

5 out of 5 stars An Awesome CD!!.......2004-01-03

the first thing that you must understand is that i am a metalhead to begin with. One of the bands that I like is a metal band by the name of Opeth, they are very heavy and dark, but they have accoustic classical guitar all throughout their music, with metal. I decided that it might be cool to check out some classical guitar because I love how they do it in their music. So I bought this CD and loved it! I love their mideival sound that they produce, wonderful!
(Pacific Coast Highway is the coolest track(8)!!)

5 out of 5 stars The best LAGQ cd. Period........2000-04-09

This was and is such a remarkable disk, nothing has yet come close to match it's mix of styles and songs. It definitively marked the quartet's goal to step beyond the traditional classical into an adventurous realm of jazz, rock, african, americana, and even tossing in a little humor, without becoming "crossover" or "world music" as they now have. York's compositions "Quiccan" and "Bantu" move convincingly/decisively, unlike his drifting, overly subtle style of late. "Labyrinth" is such a great piece, I wish Ian Krouse would compose an entire cd for the group (his "Folia Variations" on their Evening in Granada" cd is also great). The Copland arrangement is full of energy and the Basie and Sousa pieces are just plain fun. This was the reason everyone started talking about this group, which makes it all the more sad they're going the direction they are now. Come back! Come back!

5 out of 5 stars A successful marriage between classical guitar & pop forms........2000-02-23

The L.A.G.Q.'s wide ranging abilities are well represented in this eclectic collection of twentieth century music. Ian Krouse's Labyrinth is a striking, intense homage to Led Zeppelin. His characteristic use of hammering dissonances resolve masterfully into fun, driving, bluesy rock passages. Andrew York's Bantu is a perfect platform for the quartet's ability to utilize the guitars extended techniques. The piece opens with all four members playing different rhythms and timbres on the body of the guitar. Each member then drops out of his rhythmic pattern and into a harmonic framework, one at a time, until all four members are doing so. The piece is concluded in a retrograde of the same pattern. One may question a guitar quartet's ability to do justice to the dynamic nature of Aaron Copland's Simple Gifts, but this outstanding performance should put such concerns to rest. Each piece on this disc is executed with the kind of exuberance and taste for which the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet has become known.

5 out of 5 stars Exciting music won't let you keep still........1999-04-14

The first song in this album has a strong, repetitive driving arpegio that is thrilling to a classical guitar lover.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely fantastic Bluegrass!.......2006-11-04

This is the second cd I bought from Blue Highway and I guess it'll be not the last! It's really great Bluegrass music and I love to hear it.

5 out of 5 stars The Real Deal.......2002-07-18

There's no confusion as to what kind of band Blue Highway is, and what kind of audience they are after. This is the kind of straight-forward "grass" offering that will make any hardcore disciple grin from ear-to-ear. Both Wayne Taylor and Shawn Lane are wonderful vocalists, and while Rob Ickes' dynamic dobro is featured throughout (check out the way he tears into his solo on "Getting Over You"), there's plenty of good pickin' throughout this effort - Jason Burleson is the tastiest banjo player this side of Union Station's Ron Block.

But the strengths of Blue Highway are its teamwork and selection of material. Guitarist Tim Stafford contributes some great original material ("Find Me Out on a Mountain Top" and the a capella gospel number "Wither Thou Go" are sure to find their way into the standard bluegrass catalog), and New England native (and former bandmate of Bela Fleck) Jack Tottle has two fine numbers covered here, as well - "I'd Rather Be a Lonesome Pine" is a great kickoff to the CD, and the haunting "May Your Life Be Sweet and Simple" concludes it.

Make it a point to hear Blue Highway - you won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars The Face Of Bluegrass Today.......2002-04-29

Blue Highway is one of the best bluegrass bands around today and this is one of their finest efforts. This CD is a good introduction to the band or to bluegrass music itself. The cuts on the project move easily between hard driving and slower more contemplative songs. The instrumentation is terrific and the harmonies are awesome. With songs about floods, prison, lost loves and being used by a love, and mountains this is a classic the moment of its release. "He Walked All The Way Home" is a very thought provoking song set at the close of the Civil War and "Cold Frosty Morn" is an excellent banjo and fiddle duet.

Members of this band have played with Alison Krauss and Ricky Skaggs among others and their love of the music and their professionalism shines through with a first class effort! Highly recommended to all.

5 out of 5 stars WOW.......2001-03-06

Bluegrass doesn't get any better than these guys! I recently attended a performance of this group, and what a pleasure it was! For those who listen to and love bluegrass music, this is a must have cd!!!

This is a very balanced recording of traditional, progressive, slow, and fast bluegrass. This is the way it should be. The instrumentation is excellent. The vocals blend unbelieveably. "Midnight Storm" is a definate must-have for your collection.
