4 out of 5 stars Help!.......2005-08-29

Does anyone know where i can find the song i wanna be sedated by the offspring. someone said it was on the b-side of some disk...what disk is that?

4 out of 5 stars some songs aren't great .......2004-11-11

There are a lot of songs I like on here. They are the songs by BLINK-182, OFFSPRING, VANDALS, MOTLEY CRUE, and a couple others. The cd overall is ok and I've heard a lot, but I've heard better.

2 out of 5 stars missing.......2004-09-02

there was good songs on this cd i have to admit, such as static x with push it and rob zombie always enhances a soundtrack. but the problem i had with this album is the songs that are missing. almost all the good music in the movie were left out. it took me a while to find one song in particular, i am a pig from two. then they also left out that 2 live crew song that they showed the video for. why was it that these songs were deleted from the soundtrack, but songs like enthused by blink 182, bleeding boy from disappointed incorperated and my girlfriends dead by the vandals were all added?

1 out of 5 stars One memorable song, but not because it's good........2003-12-28

An OK album. Most of it's forgettable, though. Only The Offspring's re-release "Beheaded" from their 1987 demo tapes sticks out... but not for the best of reasons; it's shockingly gruesome. It'll give you nightmares, I swear. It's THAT explicitly gory. Not the Idle Hands movie (not scary at all), the Offspring song. Despite the fact The Offspring say it's not to be taken seriously, it's hard not to considering how aggressively serious Holland sounds. Definitely would take some getting used to for fans of anything after Smash. Overall, the soundtrack's fine, but needed some better songs. Santeria would've been great on here to contrast the rest of the low-fi, depressing "punk" music.

Does anyone know the name of the song playing while the two rombie guys are eating buritos? the one before he puts tape round his neck. I love this song, I've been trying for years, 6 now, to find out the artist and song. I had it on tape, lent it to a friend and never got it back. Now I can't remember. Please if anyone knows leave a post.

5 out of 5 stars Shocker!!!.......2005-02-12

These guys rock! or at least used to (R.I.P.). Megan's vocals + Joe's hardcore guitar craftmanship + Dan's roller coaster bass lines + Chris on the skins with his Rush/Dillinger Escape Plan like drumming = Pure Musical Genius. A must listen for any fans of emo/hardcore/punk/rock/indie.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!.......2003-06-26

Idle hands deserves so much respect because these guys have an great sound along with uplifting lirycs.Althought Meaghan's vocals sounds alot like Dolores O' Riordan from the cranberries i still do not think that idle hands rip them off if any thing its an honor or at least it should be for the cranberries. the best song here i should say is "support" because of the brilliant lirycs on it specialy where it says "if we could always all got along. The old days when the scene was building and strong." I don't know why but i realy love that verse... Anywho, buy idle hands "Building a desert" alright?

5 out of 5 stars wonderful.......2003-04-23

meaningful lyrics, awesome music.
Idle Hands makes amazing music and it's a pity there haven't been any more recent releases.

3 out of 5 stars Offspring??.......2003-02-12

I have actually never seen the movie, but the soundtrack is pretty freakin' cool. Unfortunately, the CD does not have a song I am looking for. The Offspring did a cover for the Ramones, "I Wanna Be Sedated." Someone told me the song was in the movie, is this correct? If not, where did this song come from?? It's not on any of their albums. If anyone knows anything, email me at .... Thanks!

5 out of 5 stars This band ROCKS!!!.......2001-03-14

Idle Hands is the best band I've heard in years. Their music and lyricks have so much energy and it really hits home. The album sounds so much better than the download here. You must get it! Not to mention Dan Previch, one of the band members, is a true HOTTIE!!!

Inspired by old Blues & Hillbilly records, not to mention lethal doses of writers like William Faulkner, Edgar Allen Poe & Dashiell Hammett. A sound that has at times been described as "Country Noir", "Gothic Americana".

      5 out of 5 stars Road Trip.......2006-07-27

Great road trip album. No Hand could come off a Quentin Tarantino soundtrack. Lymon, Devil will keep you up late at night. W/Prayer for when the sun breaks the clouds in the Badlands. Bright Eyes for driving throught he cornbelt. A big step forward from the last.

      5 out of 5 stars Unique Blend.......2006-07-27

Unique blend of dark poetry and Americana. Complete artistic experience. Kevin Orton's lyrics are dark, poetic and quietly elegant, perfectly complemented by his rich baritone and the superb Maledictions. The sound is sometimes lush, sometimes spare, always original and striking. The effect is hypnotic.

      5 out of 5 stars Sold.......2006-07-27

Heard a few cuts on WFOV. Sold. Dark theatrics of Nick Cave. Waits gutter woe. Townes Van Zandt mournful balladry. My kind of stuff. Too arch & over the top for Will Oldham followers but tread same ground. Like more than 3 tracks which is the norm for most albums far as I'm concerned. So 5 "stars". Fave trks: Red House, Rain & Bright Eyes

      5 out of 5 stars GET LOST.......2006-07-25

      GB

Howling devils, dead girls & funeral ballads? Musical saws, dulcimers & fiddles? Weepy slide & lap steel. Tubas? Voice like a cross btw Nick Cave, Jeff Buckley & Eddie Vedder? No hand Like Desire: where Spaghetti Westerns meet Surf Rock. Red House: John Lee Hooker meets The Doors. Lymon Jones: Silence of The Lambs backed by some epic Neil Young "Like A Hurricane" shredding. No cell phones, no cars, none of the comforts of home. I guess this is what they mean by "cult artist".

5 out of 5 stars Idle Hands Of A Master.......2006-05-29

Five Stars is a Rare commodity, but This is a Rare CD. Kevin impressed me from the Beginning when Joie/DBG handed me a CD with a musical rendition of a Paul Laurence Dunbar poem -- a newer version is also included here (Kevin's the the only other person we know who is famliar with this brilliant poet). The live performances are an Entertaining show as Well. Kevin has an Actor's Heart and Soul and a Maledictions show always draws you into the Music and Performance Heart And Soul. It's more than most audiences ever Expect. Idle Hands is a Maledictions show come to life in your very own Hands. And that's what keeps us coming Back.

      Album Description

LA's mystery man, Vienna-born techno producer - John Tejada - is a premier musical innovator. Versed in piano, guitar, and drums, the son of a soprano singer and musical conductor, Tejada transcends the easy limitations of genre and style. John has released music on such esteemed and seminal electronic music labels as A13, R&S, Plug Research, Seventh City, and Playhouse.

Not one to be held down to any genre, he is responsible for the massive selling `breaks and beats' sample CD's L.A. Riot and Wall of Vinyl, released drum'n'bass tracks for the San Francisco-based Phunkatech label, and plays guitar in the indie rock band I'm Not A Gun, as well as making some of the finest techno in the world.

A prolific and in-demand remixer, John's fresh and unprecedented sound has graced the likes of The Postal Service (Sub Pop), Re:Jazz (Infracom), Ben Mono (Compost) and Rima (with collaborator Titonton Duvante) on Jazzanova Following all his successes, he established his own imprint, Palette Recordings in 1996, gaining him recognition as an artist to watch in 1998 from US dance music bibles URB and XLR8R.

The Toiling of Idle Hands sets Tejada upon the legacy left by Detroit techno pioneers Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, and Juan Atkins. The album is so classic, yet futuristic, one would swear it was an unreleased gem unearthed in the vaults of KMS or Transmat!

        Product Description

The Garden District is a band from New Orleans, Louisiana. Call it rock, call it pop, call it emo, call it indie, call it alternative...call it post-punk-prep-core for all they care. No matter how you try to define it, one thing is certain: The Garden District's brand of ruthless rock & roll will have you singing along by the third chorus. Formed in 2005, the band has spent the past two years crafting an impressive arsenal of high-energy rock songs. From tongue-in-cheek diatribes and scathing indictments, to touching anthems and deeply personal insights on life and love...their lyrics run the gamut of human emotion while remaining intelligent and sincere. Musically led by a cutting dual-guitar attack, The Garden District fills each song with overlapping layers of dynamic intensity--a potent blend of robust crunch and bright shimmer. The rhythm section is relentless, persistent, and deliberate, giving structure and solidity to every driving beat. Using commanding melodies and frequent harmonies, the vocals never fail to deliver the hook, while managing to avoid the cliches of most top 40 radio rock songs. This tactical approach to songwriting was enough to impress New Orleans' local rock heroes Tom Drummond of Better Than Ezra and Fred LeBlanc of Cowboy Mouth, so it was no suprise when both took turns behind the helm of The Garden District s debut EP, So Much It Hurts. Drummond produced three tracks and LeBlanc earned production credit on another two. After adding 5 additional self-produced demos of new material, the 10-song EP provides solid evidence of the band s growth in their short time together. Taking their set list on the road, the band has been winning over audiences everywhere. From playing 6 shows at SXSW Music Festival in Austin over the past two years, to winning the Tenacious D Battle of the Bands at the House of Blues in New Orleans, to opening up for American Idol runner-up Bo Bice and pretty-boy rocker Teddy Geiger, The Garden District has been mak
