This is a great collection of greatest hits from Charley Pride. It has rare hits that
you can't find on his other collections like "Your so good when your bad". Even
though they are newer remakes, they actually sound very good. I was very impressed.

I am not really a country music fan, but I love to listen to Charley Pride. He has such a wonderful voice and I remember all the songs on this cd. I really recommend this cd for any Charley Pride fan.

Reliving the songs I grew up with........2007-01-09

My love for Charlie Pride's music goes back to my childhood. Mr. Pride's music is just about the only country artist I'll listen to on any given day. This fine collection of his finest songs brought back fond memories and rekindled my love for this man's music and magical voice.

I recently bought my mother a copy--she's a lifetime fan too--and it instantly became her favorite CD. If you're new to Charlie Pride you can choose any one of his albums to capture the brillance and magic of this man's music, but this one would do nicely if you want to hear some of the best of his musical history.

The renditions of these great songs are an embarassment. If you are looking for rousing versions of patriotic music forget it on this CD. Also not the same title list on the CD as on the item description on Amazon.

Was'nt exactly what I expected. There must be two versions to this CD. The tracts are not the same as the CD listed on Amazon.
There are 16 like the other one, but a lot of the songs are different. All are vocal. I would'nt buy this CD unless you can get it really cheap and you are willing to get a CD that is different from the one listed. Has good sound but is not my style.

Trust the distributor to release this compilation on 9/11 of all days!! However it is still a good collection of America's best patriotic music. Favourites include 'Yankee Doodle' and the national anthem 'Star Spangled Banner'. A fine album for proud Americans

Wow I'm so happy! At last one of my favorit country singers, puts out a new and greate album. I have loved his gospel albums from the 70s " Did you think to pray" and "sunday morning with Charley Pride"
His voice, in the 70s, was in class by its own, so i was a little suprised that he still singj just as good. His woise is still greate, buth he is older now, ofcorse.
And the songs are greate also, and Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton, do not bake it less beautiful.
So if you are a Charley Pride fan or just like joyfull music, get this.

This is an excellent set of 2 Repirse albums, and probablu my ultimate favorite out of those released. Dino is in fine form, his warm, soothing voice caressing the fine tracks!

A few gems.......2003-05-25

Not Dean's best Reprise work, but there are some real gems here. Two of the cuts are just plain fun ("Not Enough Indians" and "Rainbows Are Back In Style:...unusual, playful arrangement on the latter). Four cuts are wonderful -- "By The Time I Get To Phoenix", "Gentle On My Mind" (nice horn arrangement), "That's When I See The Blues" (fine country), and the ballad "April Again". Recommended.

This is a really nice collection of twenty songs from Dean that is sure to please. I like Dean's version of Honey better than the original. This will be a nice addition to your collection.

Copy protection?.......2003-09-25

Charley's tribute to Jim Reeves was copy protected and wouldn't play in any of my CD players. Does anyone know if he fixed the problem on this new CD? Unfortunately there is no way to tell when you buy it online.

I'm not buying it til I'm 100% sure the problem is fixed. It's a pity, because I'm a huge fan and I was looking forward to this one.

Later in his career Charley Pride did a massive recording session where he re-recorded all his biggest hits.

At the time it was well intentioned because almost all of the original versions of these songs were unavailable.

But be forewarned, the songs on this disc are all remakes.

Wonderful Christmas CD.......2007-01-22

This CD is wonderful if you are a fan of Charley Pride. The album cover has been changed from its original (Charley in a Santa suit). My Dad brought home the LP when I was young and we played it so much over the years it became badly scratched. The songs have some traditional carols and some that I have only heard by Charley. Im so happy they brought it out on CD. I love it!

Gift for my wife.......2007-01-10

I was excited to get "Happy Christmas" through [...]. It is not exactly the easiest Charley Pride project to find. I purchased it for my wife who remembered it as a child growing up. I was happy to find it on cd. As I listened to it, I was not as impressed as she was. It brought back alot of warm fuzzies for her but for me it was just ok. If you like old style country, you'll love it.
