I LIKE THIS SERIES BECAUSE UNLIKE THE OTHER CDs OF THE OLD "FOGEY-STOGEY" BLUEGRASS MUSICIANS, THIS ONE THE SOUND IS OVERALL CLEAN THOUGH NOT CRYSTAL CLEAR AND SHARP LIKE THE CONTEMPORARY RECORDINGS OF TODAY. MY FAVORITE CUTS ARE "JIMMY BROWN THE NEWSBOY" AND "MIDNIGHT FLYER".

The album "60 Jahre Deutscher Schlager," is a three (3) CD musical history of German pop and easy listening hits from 1930 to 1989. Many of the artists are well known to American music lovers. The list includes such famous artists as: Marlene Dietrich, Lale Andersen, Freddy Quinn, Pola Negri, Lolita, Roy Black and Peggy March. Students of the German language will find the songs a great way to improve their language skills. The album covers songs from the North Sea to the Alps. The recordings are from the original pressings. The quality of the recordings are excellent. Load up all three CD's and sit back and enjoy some of the best vocals to come down the pike in a long time.

This boxed set is very good, and covers german music from many era's. My vavorite however was the last cd that covered the 1980's German pop music. A good investment, very little umpa music here!
