Jalan is joined on the album by his uncle, Dan Marlin rattling the five string banjo with romping zeal, Ryan Bee-Sack on percussion, James Diemer and Abel Johnson on the bass, and Matt Fox on resonator guitar.

Consummate musicianship.......2006-07-11

We saw Jalan play live with a band called Steam Powered Airplane in a bar called the Silver Dollar in Jackson Hole. His musicianship is absolutely breathtaking. He still tours frequently and, if he's playing nearby, please go and check out how amazing he is live, on both acoustic guitar and banjo. He's also a really nice guy.

This is Jalan's third album, and it's definitely the best produced of the three, though if you can track down his previous releases, I'd suggest you buy them too to hear how his technique has developed. On Moonshiner, his songwriting skills and wry humour are self-evident. It's a wonderfully engineered disc, too.

This is by far the second coming of Music out of the Bighorn Mountains. Jalan has the skill and chance to surpass the Late Chris Ledoux as our musical salvation. He is as funky and bluesy as you want, with a whole other side of entertainment and stage presense. If you have been thru Bosler (yes, it is a real town) you know the satire in his lyrics. This is a modern, local reference album to be treasured. BUY IT, You will dig it.
