Editorial Reviews
"A slightly more earnest John Hartford with similarly serious picking skills and musical irreverence."
Product Description
Moonshiner is the newest release from the talent of Jalan Crossland. It is a brilliant collection of the kind of music that is unique to Jalan which is a combination of old timey bluegrass and contemporary folk. He brings us twelve new original songs and his own interpretation of two older favorties. As ususal, the entire recording is saturated with Jalan's humor and wit. Overall, this is the finest collection of original music he has ever produced.
Jalan is joined on the album by his uncle, Dan Marlin rattling the five string banjo with romping zeal, Ryan Bee-Sack on percussion, James Diemer and Abel Johnson on the bass, and Matt Fox on resonator guitar.

Consummate musicianship.......2006-07-11
This is Jalan's third album, and it's definitely the best produced of the three, though if you can track down his previous releases, I'd suggest you buy them too to hear how his technique has developed. On Moonshiner, his songwriting skills and wry humour are self-evident. It's a wonderfully engineered disc, too.
Absolutely recommended!
