On this fourth set of Hayride performances spotlighting the Shreveport radio and stage show, George Jones reprises his 1958 hit "Color of the Blues." Hayride vets the Wilburn Brothers weigh in with "Gonna Tie One On Tonight." Red Foley is represented by "Foggy River." Webb Pierce sings his 1954 hit "Slowly," and Faron Young's upbeat 1955 hit "Go Back, You Fool" reflects the brash, in-your-face aspect of his style. Three artists sing songs associated with other legends: Jim Reeves delivers a relaxed version of the Bob Wills favorite "Roly Poly." Hank Snow (with some of his tasty guitar picking in between) honors longtime idol Jimmie Rodgers with "Blue Yodel No. 7 (Anniversary Blue Yodel)," misidentified in the credits as "Texas Hambone Blues." Opry star Hawkshaw Hawkins performs his hit version of Hank Williams's "Pan American." "Release Me" features Ray Price in prime mid-1950s form. Johnny Cash gets two spots: one musical ("Give My Love to Rose"), one spoken (a commercial for Shreveport's Southern Maid Doughnuts). (NOTE: Recording dates are not included.) --Rich Kienzle
