About the Artist
Rory Justice, born in June of 1989 in Long Beach, California, started playing guitar at the young age of 8 years old. At the age of 11, he was one of the guitarists in his Dad's band the "Rockaholics". When he was just 13, he performed his first solo show backed by C.C.Jerome's band the "Silver Jets" and opened for the famous rockabilly artist Robert Gordon at the Doll Hut. He was then pegged with the moniker "The Rockabilly Kid".

Since then, among the legends he's opened for have been, Billy Lee Riley, Gene Summers, Glen Glenn, Johnny Powers, Joe Clay, Levi Dexter, and Ray Campi. He's also held two shows in Vegas and one at the Hollywood Paladium backed by the infamous C.C.Jerome. Together with all the live shows, Golly Gee Records released three live recordings Rory performed at the 2002 Mooneyes Christmas car show along with his partner in crime Rockin' Ryan ("Rockin' Ryan and The Real Goners").

Now 14 years old, Rory finally has his first full length CD. Recorded at the location of the legendary Electro-Vox studios in Hollywood, California and backed by a cast of SoCal's finest rockabilly musicians including: Rip Carson, Ricky McCann, Omar Romero ("Omar and The Stringpoppers"), Luis Ramos ("Hellbound Hayride") and his Dad - Ken "Crash" Justice. The CD was released on America's premier independent label for rockabilly and surf instrumental music - Golly Gee Records.

The CD contains fifteen rockin tunes including two songs with his Dad, Crash Justice. Great stuff in the tradition of true Rockabilly. Look for Rory to be touring to a local town near you and at the European rockabilly festivals.

4 out of 5 stars Couple solid soundtracks for Elvis fans.......2007-06-20

These two soundtracks were some of Elvis' solid material from the early 60s when he still cared about the vocals and before things started getting really, really corny script wise. "Kid Galahad" offers gems in "This Is Living", "Home Is Where The Heart Is", "I Got Lucky" and "A Whistling Tune" -- all in all, some great foot tappers and strong ballads.

In "Girls! Girls! Girls", you get a few more duds, but also some strong songs in "Return To Sender", "I Don't Wanna Be Tied", "Thanks To The Rolling Sea", and the title track. Other than that, there are some songs that have some things to be desired.

Overall, it's a fairly solid combination of soundtracks that I would recommend.

3 out of 5 stars Not a bad set.......2007-06-18

This includes the music from two of Elvis' movies from 1962, Kid Galahad and Girls! Girls! Girls! The soundtrack for Girls! Girls! Girls! was a big hit in the US reaching number 3 on the album chart and was certified GOLD by the RIAA. No soundtrack album was released for Kid Galahad but an EP was which was also certified GOLD. This CD includes one of Elvis' signature songs, Return to Sender, which was a huge hit worldwide. It peaked at number 2 on the US singles chart and was certified PLATINUM. It's flip side, Where Do You Come From, was a minor hit just cracking the top 100. King of the Whole Wide World was a modest hit reaching 30 on the US singles chart. All in all, this is not a bad collection.

3 out of 5 stars We know who we owe it to........2005-08-27

This CD features two Elvis soundtracks from 1962.

Kid Galahad is a very good soundtrack, although it only features six songs. "King of the Whole Wide World" is an absolute classic, and all the other songs are good, too.

Girls! Girls! Girls! is a more uneven soundtrack. The best known song is the classic hit "Return to Sender". And there are some other good songs, like "Where Do You Come From", "We'll Be Together" and "Because of Love". But there are also some pretty bad songs, like "Earth Boy", "Song of the Shrimp" and "The Walls Have Ears".

This is hardly an essential Elvis CD, but Elvis fans should enjoy it.

4 out of 5 stars Rory Justice...real life rock n' roll juvenille delinquent!!.......2005-05-05

Rory Justice has got a head start on most rockabilly acts. At the tender age of 14, he's already played with more artists than I have space to list here and has already put out his first full length CD. I don't know of any other 14 year olds belting out traditional rockabilly like this! The album also features some pretty seasoned players like Rip Carson on guitar and Omar Romero on upright bass/guitar.

"The Rockabilly Kid" was recorded at the former Electro Vox Studios on Hollywood, CA with Wally Hersom on the dials. This cd was done in a pretty authentic style and has some really hot guitar licks throughout. Most of the album consists of familiar covers, but there are a couple of good originals in there too. The track I liked most on the CD is "Waitin' For You" which features a duet with Rory and his dad Crash. I also really enjoyed listening to Rory's versions of "School of Rock n' Roll", "Tongue Tied Jill" and "Blue Jeans and Boy's Shirt". Keep your eyes and ears out for this young man!

5 out of 5 stars Exellent traditional rockabilly cd.......2004-08-26

Rory Justice si currently the youngest rockabilly artist out there keeping the traditonal sounds of 50's rockabilly alive. He really sounds liek he's stepped out of a time machine from 1955! He masters covers of "Jitterbugin' Baby" and more... Exellent cd
