5 out of 5 stars Montgomery Gentry attitude minus the rock influences .......2006-05-20

You've got to love Dallas Wayne, who continues to produce solid honest-to-God country music in an age when too many have wimped out. While I'm sure that Dallas is aware of the Iggles, Skynard, Marshall Tucker, ZZ Top and their ilk, very little of it shows up in his music.

While I like every song on the CD, I guess my favorite song is "You Can Count On Me" where the basic premise is a warning to the woman that she can count on him to mess things up. "Your Biggest Fan" is a stalker song, but a cleverly done one. "Tell It To The Jukebox" is a bartender telling his customer that he's maintained his sanity by having his bar stool fools foist their sad stories off on the jukebox. "Junior Samples" is not about the legendary Hee-Haw star but uses his name in some word-play.

If you're looking for politically correct , well-mannered country music, you'll not find it here. If you're looking for the twangy stuff - the good stuff - you've done found it!

5 out of 5 stars If you like your honky tonk straight-up.......2005-05-02

Big Dallas Wayne's been around for years. After recording, and touring in Europe, and Finland especially, he came back home and settled down to write some of today's best true country music. His two releases for Hightone Records are great, and he's outdone himself with this new beauty. The songwriting is just plain staight-up honky tonkin' juke-box country that sounds like it could've been written yesterday, today, or 30 years ago. Robbie Fulks really helped Dallas along a few years ago by pushing for this guy. Fulks saw what people are begining to see today; this guy's a major force to be reckoned with. A strong voice, keen sense of humour, and a passion for real music will make you one his biggest fans.

4 out of 5 stars ryangwillim.......2006-04-20

I'm not going to write a huge review because this is punk rock, not classical music.

I would suggest this album to anyone who likes post-punk, hardcore, and 90s grungish punk because of two songs on this record. The song "Trapped" by Coolidge, and "Society" by Phatso. These are two amazing songs of the post-punk hardcore variety!

A lot of the other songs on the record are great as well, lots of different Punk Rock variety to suffice many different personal tastes, but those two songs are why I own the album.

5 out of 5 stars This album rocks!.......1999-02-07

This is one of the greatest CD's I have in my collection. If you like this CD consider buying: The Tooth & Nail Box Set, it is five CD's and may cost a pretty penny but it's worth the cash you may fork out.

3 out of 5 stars More punk rock than you can shake a stick at!.......1998-12-30

PUNK! PUNK! PUNK! PUNK! PUNK! If you really into both genre's of punk rock, you'll love this one! It's punk rock out the rear end. Mike and Tom's little side project, the Cooties, kicks off a great sampler CD chock full of all sorts of punk band's. While there are a few groaners, this CD's a good pick for the average punk fan.

3 out of 5 stars Worth Listening To.......1998-08-11

This CD is a good one to listen to a few times, but not one that'll sit in your CD player for weeks. The first song by the Cootees is a good one, and there are other fun songs throughout the album; then there are also songs that aren't too good at all, the kind that you hit the skip button for. The second song by One Bye One is actually Value Pac, before they signed with Tooth & Nail and changed their name. If you like punk, both old school and new, this is an album for you.

I'll admit, all around, this compilation isn't too great. I totally back the idea of compilations, I'm a big fan of that. If you're a fan of MxPx, it's ideal that you should pick this up. Even though 'Lifetime Enlightenment' is on Let It Happen, this is the unedited original version, which I like much better than the Let It Happen cut. This disc also has a Cootees track available no where else. So try and pick this up. The Ghoti Hook track isn't so bad either.
