What a hole it made when he left us!.......2005-04-24

Just received this as a 70th Birthday gift from my son ;and what a wonderful surprise.This is a great tribute to Johnny and there are many songs that I have not heard him do before.Some are even original recordings.He also does some of Hank Williams's songs.I have been a big fan of Cash from his earliest days and obviously have many of his albums;so when I opened this gift and saw Cash CD's,my first reaction was ,I probably got all these songs already.When I read the titles I knew this was not just a rehash of his top 24 or so hits.Then I played them and what a surprise!Though some songs have been around forever ,Johnny puts a whole new life in them.What more is there to say?This is a great,new, fresh set of material that may have been recorded a long time ago;but none the less, really enjoyable.I remember after the untimely passing of Hank Williams we were treated to all kinds of his work for years to come.Hopefully,the same will be the case with Cash.He must have recorded all kinds of stuff that was never released,and what a thrill it would be if it were.
Get this set if you can;any Cash fan will love it.
